Revealed: ‘Ex-convict’ among other reasons why Kingmakers demand Oluwo’s removal

OduduwaNews had earlier reported that some police officers recently laid siege at the Oluwo Palace. In the meantime, the detail of the reasons why the kingmakers demanded for his removal has been revealed.

This was contained in a letter received today by OduduwaNews as signed by the Palace of Iwo kingmakers. Among the reasons why the Kingmakers wrote letter to the governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola to approve the removal of Oluwo was that the present Oluwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi had been convicted in Canada and USA before he was ethroned as Oluwo.

The letter as received by OduduwaNews attached herewith.

Again, another man caught in Oyo defrauding Amotekun applicants

Oyo State government has again announced the arrest of another man, this time in Oyo township, for defrauding unsuspecting applicants into the recruitment of Oyo State Security Network, codenamed ‘Amotekun’.

The middle-aged man, Adeyemi Agboola who owned a cyber café along Durbar Stadium road was caught on Wednesday with eleven fake recruitment forms which he was reported selling to mostly unlettered applicants at #500 per copy, with the promise of assisting the victims to get the job.

The cyber cafe operator claimed that he only utilized the opportunity to extort the victims but one of his victims who was a semi illiterate and would not want his name in print said he was not aware of the difference in the two forms until he was caught with it at the screening venue.

The Commandant of the AMOTEKUN operations, Colonel Olayanju Olayinka Rtd. said the culprit would face the law for his action as he has been handed over to the appropriate prosecuting agency, urging the members of the public to be wary of individuals that would always want to take advantage of others in the society because the victims were educationally deficient.

“It is very unfortunate that people can still take advantage of others on recruitment exercise just because the victims are unlettered, we shall dig more to know the number of victims that have fallen for the antics pf this man.

“We have handed him over to the appropriate prosecuting security agency, he shall serve as a deterrence to others that might want to thread this bad way, the State government has been working non-stop to alleviate poverty and sundry social issues affecting our people, but we will not allow the common people be cheated by those who think they are cunning.”

Olayinka enjoined all participants from other zones to desists cutting corners and that applicants should be very wary of the cyber operators they patronize for registration.

The screening exercise team proceeded to Ogbomoso zone for the exercise that would hold on Thursday 24th of September 2020 at Ogbomoso Township stadium while Ogbomoso North and South participants would be screened on Friday 25th, September, while the screening of participants from Surulere local government was billed to hold on Saturday the 26th of September 2020 also at the Ogbomoso Township stadium.

Alleged terrorism in Oke-Ogun: Time when silence and inaction no longer tenable – Ismael Taiwo

ALLEGED TERRORISM IN OKE-OGUN, THE TIME WHEN ‘BEING ON TOP OF THE SITUATION’, INACTION AND SILENCE NO LONGER TENABLE

By Ismael Taiwo

Our lives begin to end the day we keep silent on the things that matter most. – Martin Luther Jnr

Globally, the protection of lives and properties is the first condition of humanity. A society where the security of lives and properties is being threatened cannot witness meaningful development that is why the first responsibility of a responsible government as enshrined in the 1999 constitution as amended is to strengthen peaceful coexistence among the populace.

Recently, the media space was awashed with allegation of some suspected terrorists trooping into Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State as clearly affirmed by Aare Onakakanfo, Iba Gani Adams who spoke voraciously based on the intelligence claimed to have been at his disposal.

Gani Adams raised alarm on several occasions that some suspected terrorists presently occupying Oke-Ogun region. In as much as I believe it is the work of security agencies to ascertain the veracity of the claim made by Aare Onakakanfo but as citizens we must brace up to the security threat and ensure that all hands are on deck to prevent another Borno replica in Oyo State.

What should perturb sensisble minds is the inability of our military men to come out in clearer tone what they are trying to put in place or have been put in place to forestall the rising challenge of security threat in Oke-Ogun as claimed by Gani Adams. There is no gainsaying in the fact that the current security architecture in Nigeria has failed to curtail various security challenges battling Nigeria as a country due to the inability of our security agencies to nip in the bud any rising security challenge before it gets out of hand. It has always been a case of some people who supposed to have been on the field doing on-spot assessment of security situation in the country but prefer to sit tight under a well fitted air-conditioning offices dishing out weightless ‘on top of the situation’ press statement even when the fight has been brought to their barracks.

It will be recalled that not later than two weeks that the Aare Onakakanfo raised an alarm of some suspected terrorists occupying Oke-Ogun that the Nigerian Army released their usual statement in response to the claim which depicted their readiness to combat any rising challenge in the region. It must be noted at this juncture, that the current disposition of military in their characteristic manner is not different from their usual statement of being ‘on top of the situation’ while the war on terrorism waxes stronger on a daily basis and seems unabating.

One will expect the military to come out in stronger term on measures put in place to forestall the replica of Borno terror-like-act in Oyo State but their statement alluded to the fact that our security agencies only take solace in tackling security menace at the top level when it has gone beyond control rather than tackling it headlong while the wave of security threat is still at a germinating process. One could infer this from the genesis of security challenges in some northern parts of Nigeria as a result of inability of our military personnel to nip in the bud the growing seed of terrorism in those parts before it later germinated into guerrilla war and escalated beyond control. On several occasions, instead of taking proactive measures to face the challenges holistically in those parts, the military in its usual media tactical approach was brandishing weapon of ‘on top of the situation’ around until the reality dawned on us as a nation.

My dearest people of Oke-Ogun, we are not oblivious of the fact that some parts of the region are presently under the siege of some criminal elements. Records of dastardly acts carried out by these criminal elements have alluded to the fact that Oke-Ogun is not safe presently. In recent times, the cases of kidnapping, maiming, killing, raping and all sorts of social vices have been traced to some suspected kidnappers, bandits and Fulani marauders who have taken over some parts of Oke-Ogun and are hellbent in terrorizing the innocent people carrying out their daily economic activities. Over time, the people of Saki have been raising alarm over the spate of insecuity in the town where kidnappers have been on rampage – killing, maiming and raping of innocent girls. Many citizens have been recorded to have lost their lives in the hands of these agents of darkness whose operations could be likened to terror-like-act. Recent happening in Saki few days ago where a farmer was kidnapped and killed by Fulani marauders corroborates my stance that Oke-Ogun is under siege and not safe any more.

The incessant kidnappings and killings are numerous in some parts of Oke-Ogun where the citizens have resigned to fate having been neglected by government.

Ado-Awaye, Araromi LCDA is one of the towns in Oke-Ogun that is currently under siege of kidnappers and Fulani marauders as no fewer than five people within this month said to have been kidnapped with no trace of whereabouts. Ipapo area of Oke-Ogun is not left out of the terror currently unleashed on the innocent citizens of Oke-Ogun as virtually every part of the region is being terrorized.

While it is the duty of security agencies to combat security challenges, we must not shy away from the fact that security apparatus put in place in Nigeria has failed to live up to its responsibilities and this could be justified by the spate of insecurity in Oke-Ogun and Nigeria at large. Hence, the need for the sons and daughters of Oke-Ogun to set aside their political, religious and personal differences and address the security challenges holitistically. Being ontop of the situation everytime or rolling out weightless press releases without appropriate action is no longer tenable for us as a people of Oke-Ogun.

Yoruba will say, “ati okere ni oloju jinjin ti n m’ekun sun”, we must therefore rise to the ocassion of security challenges by putting our security agencies on toe. It is high time we took a bold step in salvaging Oke-Ogun from being totally taken over by terrorists as alleged by Gani Adams.

I am utterly bewildered by the inability of our security agencies to come out in clearer term to either authenticate or disprove the claim made by Gani Adams as well as silence and inaction of some of our stakeholders. This inaction and attitude of sitting on the fence has put us as a people on red line and we must brace up and confront the challenges ahead of us.

I must say that history will place us on record, our disposition currently will speak for or against us in future. We must therefore shun attitude of passivity and silence and rise to the new wave of security challenges in Oke-Ogun by organizing a security summit where we come together to harmonize ideas and chart a way forward ahead of possible threat of terrorism as alleged by Gani Adams.

I summit by the words of Frantz Fannon, “future will have no pity for those who possess exceptional privilege of being able to speak the words of truth but have taken refuge in attitude of passivity, of mute indifference, and sometimes, of cold complicity. It is high time we spoke the words of truth to those who care to listen.

I did not endorse Akala as APC leader in Oyo State – Fayemi

The governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi has denied rumour flying around that he had endorsed the former governor of Oyo State, Alao Akala as the leader of All Progressives Congress in Oyo State in the recently reconciliation meeting held in Ibadan.

Fayemi said this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, on Wednesday following the controversy generated by Alao-Akala’s claim that he has been endorsed as the Leader of the party by the national leadership.
The Unity Forum of the APC had in a statement on Tuesday also faulted the claim by the former Governor.

Fayemi also said his meeting with the leaders of the APC in Oyo State over the weekend was not to confer leadership on Alao-Akala but an assignment by the national leadership, led by the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni.

The statement by Oyebode reads in full:

Governor Kayode Fayemi was on an assignment on behalf of the National Reconciliation Committee of the APC in charge of the Oyo State crisis.
Governor Akala emerged as Chairman of the Party’s Advisory Council with other distinguished personalities like former Deputy Governors, Iyiola Oladokun and Alake Adeyemo together with the Party Chairman, Akin Oke as members.

They emerged as automatic members by virtue of being the highest elected office holders in the party.
Other Senatorial districts – Oyo South and Oyo Central are to nominate three members each on the advisory council.
The main responsibility of the advisory committee is to help oversee the activities of the party through registration.
At no point was any leader chosen at the Ibadan meeting.

Gov Fayemi has reported back to the National Headquarters the outcome of the meeting of party stakeholders in Ibadan.
Gov Fayemi was only a representative of the reconciliation committee.
At no time at the meeting or thereafter was any leader foisted on the party.

Secession: Yoruba in diaspora fix October 1 for Oduduwa Republic rally across the world

The Yoruba in diaspora under the aegis of Yoruba One Voice have fixed October 1 for a global rally across the six continents.

In a statement sent today by YOV’s Director of Communications, Comrade Zacheaus Somorin, the group said it was time for the Yoruba to exit the entity called Nigeria.

The statement reads, “The rally is to sensitise the world on the need to liberate the Yoruba race from the shackles of bondage.

“We have made our position known to our people in Nigeria. The reason for seeking self-determination as the best means and alternative is to save the nation from impending implosion.

“Nigeria has failed. The country is failing by the day. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo said it recently, Prof Wole Soyinka also said it, even the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams raised the alarm several times that the country was failing.

“Similarly, the revered former Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Diocese, John Onaiyekan now Archbishop Emeritus, didn’t mince words recently in an interview where he said Nigeria can break up even before 2023 if we continue to be irresponsible and reckless.

“In Nigeria today, life is of no value. There is raging insecurity, electoral rigging, corruption, nepotism and cruel misgovernance. Nigerians at home are mostly affected. There is a need for us to rise against political enslavement by a section of the country. This ‘forced marriage’ has not been working.

“Nigeria will be 60 by October 1 and the truth is that there is nothing to show for it. Nothing except senseless killings, kidnapping, corruption, election rigging occasioned by bad leadership.

“So, we need to change the narrative. We need to fight against these lawlessness and huge misappropriation of national fortune.”

Somorin urged Yoruba indigenes to brace up to the reality of the situation on the ground, stressing that the coming event will surely change the narrative of the country.

“Like the late Hubbert Ogunde among other Yoruba’s cultural heroes, the whole world particularly the descendants of Oduduwa will never forget ‘Arelu’; one of Pa Aliu’s epical movies through which this great man taught countless moral lessons.

“Aside from being a movie maker, pa Jimoh Aliu during his lifetime was very close to the ancient throne of Oduduwa through which he played several active roles particularly by adding glamor and indeed colour to our festivals and other social activities.

“His return to his creator at 85 is a unique reminder that death remains a unique feature of all men and no matter how good or badly spent a life is, it must end.” A part of the statement read.

Oduduwa Republic: Wake Up, Break Up By Omo Agbogungboro

Breaking up location 419 seems the only sensible and perfect solution to the born to rule mindset in a minority rule government. Any other option will simply be a temporary solution to a permanent problem. Let the contraption be broken up once and for all. And let the nations within her commence deliberations on modalities for dissolution of the forced unfruitful marriage.

That few men from Futa Jalon who believe in conquest should through subtlety and the barren of guns continue to dominate and aim to make location 419 their father’s estate should not be undermined.

Omo Oduduwa, wake up from slumber, the army of conquest are back on rampage. They are rounding up their rehersal in the Southern Kaduna, they are battle ready to fight with sole intention to take over Ile Oduduwa. It is time the royal fathers should rise up and let their voices be more audible in this emancipation struggle.

I respectfully remind gbogbo ori Ade, our fathers that without a Kingdom, there is no King. Please do not allow your stool be replaced with Emirs or Sultans.

“And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season”. Luke 4:13.

An appraisal of the devil’s nature revealed his style is to submerge and then emerge. The devil in the face of hard contested battle will temporarily accept defeat and disappear to restrategise. This is exactly what the Fulani are doing in Nigeria.

They seek to destroy Yoruba history so another narration could be propounded. Nah! They were defeated in Osogbo in 1840 and sent upward. Perphaps it was a big mistake for Yoruba not to have pursued and totally destroyed them, and recover Ilorin which they conquered from Afonja in 1836AD

It is no gainsaying that the Karambani are back with renewed hope and modern strategies with desire to conquer location 419.

However, let the present generation of Oduduwa descendants rise up in defense of their ancestral land. The Oduduwa youths in particular must know the truth, they belong to a Nation that has never been conquered. A nation that will never be subservient to anyone. A nation credited with almost everything first in Africa. A nature adjudged as the glory (imole Ogo) of the black race.

We are the indomitable, highly intelligent, superbly intellectual, extremely focused, pacesetting, well cultured, highly conscientious Oduduwa descendants.

Let us be inspired by the knowledge of who we are. Our self identity must inspire us as we confront the ongoing invasion of our land by the world acclaimed African wanderers who have been suppressed and expelled in over 26 African Nations.

Rise, Omo Alade Oduduwa rise. Ese ara yin ni oshusnu owo, igba eshishi kin dena lowo. Owo ni baba eshishi.

Awon onile afunwa se. Eledumare agbewa leyin.

Rise up, in the spirit of legendary Yoruba warriors from every corner of Oduduwa nation.

Edide eta giri. Idagiri kin ja omo leyin Ekun. Awon iran daran daran koni muwa leru o.
