The much-awaited new single “Emi lo Kan” by the multiple award-winning superstar Eedris AbdulKareem is making waves with its powerful message. In the viral video, the legendary Eedris, known for fearlessly addressing societal issues through his music, boldly states that the current situation in Nigeria is even worse than when he released “JagaJaga” decades ago.
Eedris passionately highlights the harsh reality facing Nigerians today, where basic necessities like food have become increasingly unaffordable due to anti-people government policies. Meanwhile, political leaders continue to approve exorbitant salaries and allowances for themselves, exacerbating the suffering of the masses.
Furthermore, Eedris AbdulKareem criticizes religious leaders, including Pastor EA Adeboye, for their silence in the face of governmental injustices. He urges them to use their influence to speak truth to power and advocate for the well-being of the people.
This timely track by Eedris AbdulKareem resonates deeply as Nigerians endure immense hardship and loss of lives due to government neglect and failed economic policies. It serves as a poignant reminder of the urgent need for change and accountability in Nigeria’s governance.
As the nation grapples with these challenges, “Emi lo Kan” prompts us to reflect: Where do we go from here? The release of this song underscores Eedris AbdulKareem’s unwavering commitment to using his platform to amplify the voice of the oppressed and demand a better future for all Nigerians.

British-Nigerian singer Azeez Adeshina Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has revealed why he speaks Yoruba fluently despite growing up in London, the United Kingdom.
The Marlian Music honcho, who raps mostly in Yoruba, said his dad banned the speaking of English in their house while allowing only Yoruba.
He disclosed this in an interview with Cool FM Nigeria in Lagos.
Naira Marley said: “What made it easy for me [to blend with Nigerian street music] is that I grew up in South-East London, Peckham to be precise. That is like small Lagos, you know what I mean?
“And all my life in England, my dad banned speaking English in the house. So, we had to speak Yoruba and all these Yoruba stuff. I still listen to Fuji. We eat African foods. Even though I’m in England, it was like I’m still in Nigeria. Yeah, it was easy for me. When I came back [to Nigeria], people didn’t really know I came from London.”
The singer said he could have been a footballer, adding that he played for Arsenal youth team while in England.

Popular actress Ashabi Simple dispels rumors surrounding her childbirth with singer Portable as she reveals that she is not dating him for his money.
Contrary to popular belief, she claimed in a recent interview with Punch Saturday Beats monitored by ODUDUWA NEWS, that she is not with Portable because of material things, but rather because of his care and support.
Ashabi said:
“He (Portable) has done many things for me but what stands out the most is the care and support he gives me. I am not here for the material things. I have produced movies and made my millions before meeting him. I have been a self-sponsored student even before I met him. I have been carrying responsibilities way back.”
She continued by saying that she and the street-hop artist were preparing to get married soon and that she had no problem sharing him with other ladies.
She added that her pregnancy for Portable wasn’t an accident and that they had both planned for it before deciding to have a child together.
We have introduced our families and hope to get married soon. I am an entertainer and I have thought about getting married to him properly. I did not get pregnant by mistake. It was planned and I do not expect to have issues with any of his wives or other baby mamas. I see some comments that I want to snatch Portable but I am not here to snatch anyone. I am just a shareholder and I cannot take care of him alone because I have my career and child. I also want to work more and be famous,” she said.
In addition, Ashabi Simple discussed Portable’s character away from the stage, adding that contrary to popular belief, he is a composed and compassionate individual.
In her words;
“One cannot judge his personality from his performance because that is what he does for a living and he has to put in his best and energy. As my man, he has always been calm and caring. He is always available when I want to talk to him and he is a great listener. Those are some of the things I like the most about him.”

She started on the 11th of May, last week Thursday.
She was determined to break the former record of 87hours 45 minutes set by an Indian Lady, Lata.
She began cooking, cooking and cooking. People cheered, people came to support and of course you will also see negative people who condemned the act and questioned why she was doing it.
This act of hers, brought individuals from different tribes all over the nation together in one place, to join hands and support her.
The cooking act that some people questioned and asked what she’d gain from it, made more than 18 brands to partner themselves with her.
The first day went by, second day, third day…she was visibly tired. I mean why won’t she?? She has been cooking nonstop and only have 5minutes of rest every hour, that is approximately 2 hours worth of rest per day.
Did she give up? No, not at all!! She continued. With the help of her staff and the cheers of Nigerians, she pushed further.
Word spread, now not just Nigerians, people from all over the world, our African brothers, those in other continents, even the initial world record holder, Lata took to their phones, came online, supported and cheered on Hilda to push harder.
This was a motivation. Yes she was tired, but the strength of thousands and possibly millions of souls around her, gave her strength. She didn’t give up, her staff didn’t give up, she pushed further, pushed harder, even when her body tried to breakdown, she continued cooking.
Now, it’s the 4th day, it has surpassed the former record time..Hilda has officially broken the record of longest cooking and did she stop there? No, she’s still cooking.
She wants to set her own record. Her target is 96hours..that is 9hours longer than the initial record.
Of course everyone is still there physically and on social media to cheer her on.
It’s no longer a matter of “if” but a matter of “when”.
4 days ago, she started a journey that seemed impossible. 4 days later, she has officially broken the record. Now she’s on her way to set her own record and put her name in the history books.
Men of the Lagos state police command are currently on the trail of singer Seun Kuti. Some officers from the command visited his Allen Avenue home this morning to arrest him but met his absence.
The officers were stationed at his Allen Avenue home but were later asked to leave the area.
Recall that the Inspector General of Police, Baba Alkali, ordered for Seun’s arrest after a video of him assaulting a police officer surfaced online. The singer was seen pushing and also slapping a police officer on the Third mainland bridge. Seun shared a post on his IG page last night where he stated that the officer tried to kill him.
Meanwhile, the officer he assaulted has reported to the command headquarters and has given his statement of what transpired between him and the singer.
