IPYF LOGO

The Ibadan Prime Youth Forum (IPYF) also known as CCII Youth Wing has cautioned some aggrieved members of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), admonishing them to refrain from promoting anarchy within the organization. This statement serves to rectify any misconceptions and promote tranquility, harmony, and discipline within CCII.

The Forum’s President, Dr Oluwatunmise Adeagbo while addressing the press on Wednesday evening said, “We would like to clarify that the decision made by the Board of Trustees (BOT) and Legal Committee, which was subsequently upheld by the Electoral Committee, was in strict adherence to the constitutional provisions of CCII. We implore those who are disgruntled to abandon any plans that may incite chaos or disturb the peace within the community.

Our sincere gratitude goes to all the CCII Elders, all members of the CCII BOT, all CCII Past Presidents-General, CCII Affiliate Clubs Presidents, and secretaries who have exhibited astuteness by recognizing this disruptive agenda and remained resolute in their conviction that the unity of Ibadan people is paramount for achieving the desired socioeconomic development. It is imperative that we conduct a peaceful election in accordance with the constitution’s regulations.

As youths, we have observed with concern the attempts by individuals to propagate extremist propaganda on social media. We therefore call on the concerned group to caution their overenthusiastic supporters and preserve the sterling reputation they have earned in Ibadanland.

The recent approach to call for meeting of constituent clubs by impersonating the Secretary General and CCII Executives by Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade is not only unconstitutional, but shameful and could be classified as attempt of Anarchy. We have provided a receipt to substantiate our claim (see evidence attached).

IPYF Claim

Therefore, we use this opportunity to alert all members and Security Agencies to ensure the peaceful existence of CCII is not truncated by some uncoordinated and disgruntled individuals.

Also, We urge all stakeholders to uphold the constitutional provisions of CCII and refrain from engaging in any actions that may undermine the security and stability of the community. We must collaborate to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and credible election in CCII.

The Ibadan Prime Youth Forum (IPYF), an appendage of CCII under AGUFI was established by Chief Yemi Soladoye led Administration, approved by the General Assembly in February 2021, and empowered for better performance for the development of Youths of Ibadan descents by the incumbent Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga led Executives. Since inception, the forum has been contributing towards the development of Ibadan youths in different areas. In view of this, we call on other forum under CCII to join us for effective collaboration.

Finally, we reiterate the IPYF’s unwavering commitment to promoting peace, unity, and progress in Ibadan. We urge all stakeholders to join us in our pursuit of our collective objectives.”
