As the stipulated date for the successful retirement celebration and book launch of Sanitarian Muritala Siji Ganiu, the immediate past Provost of Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan approaches, it was gathered that political bigwigs in Oyo State, successful businessmen and women, active and responsible civil servants are interested in attending the epoch-making program organized by the family and friends of Mr Ganiu Muritala in celebration of his meaningful years of active service with the Oyo State government.
Sanitarian Muritala Siji Ganiu retired as Provost of Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology Eleyele Ibadan. Prior to his retirement, he served in the Department of Disease Control and Department of Planning, Research, and Statistics meritoriously. In 2004, he was deployed to HIV/AIDS Programme Development Project (World Bank Assisted) as Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
In 2008, Mr. Ganiyu was appointed the Project Manager, Oyo State HIV/AIDS Development Project (World Bank Assisted), the position he held till December 2013 when he was appointed Executive Secretary, Oyo State Agency for the Control of AIDS (SACA).
Having seen his meritorious achievements, he was redeployed back to the Ministry of Health as Executive Secretary, Health System Reform Programme, from where he was appointed the Acting Provost of Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology in 2015 and given substantive position of Provost in June 2018 for a tenure of four years, the position he held till last month when he retired from active service.
Dignitaries that are billed to grace the event include the PDP Senatorial Candidate for Oyo South, Mogaji Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe; former Commissioner for Local Government, Hon. Orisadeyi; including other invited guests.
Family and friends of Mr Ganiu Muritala are on their toes to keep everything in order towards the success of the program. The book is titled ‘The Vortex Of Fate (A Biography Of Siji Ganiu).’
As learnt, Alhaja A.O Agboola, the current Head of Service, Oyo State is the special Guest of Honor and Otunba Dr. Gbola Adetunji, Chairman, State Hospital Management Board is the Chairman of the Day.
Other dignitaries expected at the program are
- HRH. Oba Titiloye Sunday, The Elempe Of Tapa Land as the Royal Father of the Day;
- Dr. Adebayo Anthony Adepoju Ibarapa Kan, immediate past Director General of Oyo State Water Corporation and PDP Candidate for Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency;
- Mr Alani Olojede, retired Executive Director, NEM Insurance Pls as the Father of the Day;
- Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism; and
- Hon. Ademola Ojo, Oyo State Deputy Chief of Staff
The program is scheduled to hold on Saturday 3rd September 2022 @ Pl Hostel Hall situated along Bodija/Secretariat Road opposite KFC Are Avenue Bodija Ibadan at 10:00 am.
Mr. Ganiyu is a registered Environmental Health Practitioner and a Fellow of West Africa Postgraduate College of Environmental Health. Also, he is an International Professional Member of the US National Environmental Health Association and a Member, Institute of Entrepreneurs.
