A two storey building under construction has collapsed early Friday morning at Akinola Street by Fadeyi Bus Stop, off Ikorodu Road, Lagos.
Report confirms that three persons suspected to be construction workers have been rescued alive by Lagos state emergency response team and a dead body recovered.
The rescued victims were given immediate pre-hospital care before taking them to the hospital.
Search and rescue operations are still ongoing to ascertain if there are more persons trapped beneath the rubble.
Responders at the scene include LASEMA Response Team, LRU Paramedics, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, LASAMBUS and officers of the Nigeria Police Force from Alagbon Division.
The cause of the collapse is yet to be ascertained and is expected to be subjected to detailed investigation by relevant regulatory agencies.
