Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has intensified his criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, questioning its economic management, budget implementation and handling of revenues from Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG).
Makinde’s latest remarks have deepened the political exchange between the two leaders, with the Oyo governor demanding accountability over billions of dollars reportedly received as NLNG dividends.
The dispute also touches on the Federal Government’s budget performance and the management of public resources, with Makinde questioning whether Nigerians are getting sufficient value from government spending.

The Presidency had previously rejected aspects of Makinde’s claims concerning NLNG dividend payments to states, describing the allegations as misleading.
The disagreement comes amid growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the exchange highlighting mounting tensions between the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and opposition political figures.
