
The Polytechnic Ibadan had yesterday conducted election to various elective posts of the students’ union.

According to ODUDUWA NEWS correspondent who monitored the election that was collated at the Assembly Hall, security men from Department of State Security Service, DSS, Nigerian Army, officials of Southwestern Security codenamed Amotekun as well as the school security were seen stationed at the school premises to forestall breakdown of laws.
The collation of the electronic voting was done at the Assembly Hall as read out by the Dean of Students Affairs.

Oloyede Okiki Joshua was declared the president-elect having polled 1,968 as against his counterparts; Oyeniyi Tunde Ibarahim, Adeosun Abiodun, Bello Taofeek who polled 1,902, 595, 401 respectively.

Meanwhile, the aftermath of the election has resulted into a protest rocking the school premises.
The students were seen chanting various songs to register their displeasure against the process of the election. As at the time of filing this report, Oduduwa News is making effort to reach out to the Dean of Students’ Affairs for more details.
