There have been growing concerns and palpable fear from family members and relatives of the abducted teacher in Iseyin due to the inability to get the abductee freed.
The said teacher who was identified as Mrs. Olugbile said to have been abducted last week while coming from where she got a loan of Five Hundred Thousand Naira from a yet to be identified cooperative society.
According to her relatives, the kidnappers had collected the sum of N500,000 loan from her immediately she was kidnapped and still continue to reach out to the family to demand for the remaining balance of N2m ransom.
The residents who spoke to ODUDUWA NEWS under the condition of annonymity said, the teacher before her abduction had been struggling to cater for family needs for a long period of time.
They averred that the abducted teacher may continue to find it difficult to regain her freedom if help does not come her way as her husband and family members are not financially capable to pay the ransom.
Calls put through by ODUDUWA NEWS to the Public Relations of Oyo State Police Command, DSP Wale Osifeso could not be picked as at the time of filing this report.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said the oil and gas sector can no longer sustain the nation in the face of burgeoning population.
Obasanjo said this when he hosted the leadership of the apex socio-cultural group of the Tiv from Benue State, Mzough U Tiv (MUT) at his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) penthouse in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, at the weekend.
He urged fellow Nigerians to see the country as one for all “to save it and restore to what God has created it to be”.
The elder statesman, who was responding to a speech by MUT’s President General, Chief C. P. Iorbee Ihagh, noted that only more farming and modernised agricultural businesses could solve the food needs of Nigeria’s growing population.
In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, the former President and renowned farmer advised the Tiv nationality to focus on farming and agricultural businesses.
The elder statesman said he had treated the burning of his farm in Benue State as an act of fate, hinting that he might establish an industry in the state next year.
Obasanjo said he supported the change of the country’s leadership from the North to the South while, adding that the Middle Belt should continue to call for rotational presidency.
“If Nigeria is ready to get it right, the 2023 election should be a turning point. We should not go for emotion that will destroy us,” he said.
The ex-President, who was conferred with the title of a “Great Warrior” of Tiv land by MUT, warned that voting for candidates on the basis of emotions would be destructive.
Ihagh said the group’s friendship visit “is basically to interface with you as our former Head of State, a political pillar, a nationalist, and an elder statesman, to appreciate your overwhelming love, passion and he concern you have demonstrated over the Tiv people”.
The MUT president general listed three prayers for the former President’s consideration, including the need for the establishment of a fruit juice industry in Benue State and inclusive national politics.
He reminded Obasanjo of Fulani herders’ attacks on TIV land and the group’s position on the need for a power sharing formula among the nation’s diverse ethnic nationalities.
“With regard to the current power equation in the country, we in the Mzough u Tiv, in conjunction with the Middle Belt Forum, had unanimously resolved for power shift from the North to the South for fairness, justice and a true federalism.
“We want to call on Your Excellency and other well-meaning Nigerians to strictly adhere to the principle of rotation and distributive justice.
“If this is enforced, the Middle Belt would also be assured of producing the next President in Year 2031,” Ihagh said.
It was a momentous occasion today, as Lagos State played host to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate Atiku Abubakar and his team in Tafawa Balewa square Lagos.

Earlier at the occasion, the Gubernatorial Candidate of the party in the state, Jandor decried the state of poverty and unemployment ravaging the entire Lagos and promised to bring to an end the illegal activities of touts and miscreants who constantly extort people of their legitimate incomes, even as these harassments are alleged to be perpetrated by agents of the state government.
Jandor enjoined the people of Lagos to vote massively for Atiku, whom he described as calm and sober to the plights of Nigerians, coherent and truly Presidential in attitude.
Speaking in the same vein, the PDP National Chairman Senator Iyorchia Ayu, thanked the mammoth crowd of party faithful and supporters, who trooped out in their numbers to welcome the PDP team and mentioned that their determination and commitment to bring PDP back to power will not only liberate Lagos state, but the whole country.
The former Senate President stated that the PDP administration will implement policies that will create wealth and alleviate poverty.
On his part, the chairman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa-Ibom State, praised the people of Lagos for the courage to troop out in their numbers to attend the Presidential rally, despite several reports of intimidation by some overzealous Lagos State government officials, who were alleged to have blocked the route to the venue of the rally.
He saluted their resistance, even as they equally placed embargo on all PDP adverts, all in their quest to frustrate the party in the state. He urged Nigeria to vote Atiku/Okowa to rescue Nigeria from the current APC maladministration as the PDP Government will attract the right investments that will restore the economic fortunes of the country.
Supporters of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, bickered with former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, who had gone to protest at Chatham House in London, where Tinubu was speaking.

The Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde has assented to the bill to upgrade the 126-year-old Emmanuel Alayande College of Education (EACOED), Oyo thereby officially turning the College of Education into a full-fledged University of Education.
The governor, who assented to the bill on Monday at the Exco chamber of the Governor’s Office, noted that the event was a landmark achievement as the state now has three state-owned universities.
He added that the bill was even more important as education remains one of the pillars of his administration as contained in his Roadmap for Accelerated Development 2019-2023.
Governor Makinde noted that the bill signed into law will be known as Oyo Law 2022.
Recall that the Oyo State House of Assembly had, earlier in November passed the bill to turn the College of Education into a university into law and was waiting for assent by the state governor.
With this assent, the university is expected to kick off anytime from now and more activities will be seen in the coming days.
The Accord Party candidate for Atisbo/Saki East/Saki West Federal constituency, Jacob Funmi Ogunmola, is dead.
Sources said, Ogunmola, an ex-Chairman of Atisbo local government, died a few hours after attending a function in Saki.
It was gathered that the politician breathed his last when he was being moved from Saki, his base to Lagos.
Another source said that he had just finished a programme in Saki when he complained he was not well, which prompted the move to take him to Lagos.
In a post on his campaign Facebook, the Ago Are-born politician was seen telling his host that it was not in his habit to come late to events but that he had a crisis.

Four Naval officers have been accused of attacking an anti-robbery police patrol team in the Satellite town area of Lagos state, stabbing one of the police officers identified as ASP Abion Hezikel to death on Saturday, December 3.
According to police sources who confirmed this incident to LIB, the four Naval officers were riding on a motorcycle when they accosted a team of police officers on anti-robbery patrol within the Oluti area in Satellite town.
It is however not clear what led to their disagreement. The naval officers who have been identified as S/NO. 20507 Onyekachi Egwumian, 27, S/NO. 16933 Ebube Growth, 28, and two others who are currently at large allegedly attacked the officers and in the process stabbed ASP Hezikel on his chest with a jack knife as well as injured three others who tried to mediate during the disagreement.
The Divisional Police Officer for Satellite town was immediately alerted and he mobilized for the injured officer and the three others to be rushed to the Adeyemi Private hospital in Satellite town where the officer was confirmed dead. The other injured persons were treated and discharged.
Police sources say two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident and their motorcycles recovered. The military authorities have been contacted while the corpse has been deposited at the IDH morgue Yaba.

The office is less than 500 meters to the State High Court, the venue for the Sitting of the Election Petition Tribunal, Oke- Fia, Osogbo.
The thugs alleged to be loyal to PDP in their hundreds invaded the premises and pulled down some Billboards and tore the all the frame of Cheif Bola Ige, Cheif Adebisi Akande, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Oba Gboyega Famodun among others.
It was alleged that the thugs who were visibly angry over the ruling of the tribunal that admitted as evidence, the certificate of Governor Ademola Adeleke submitted to Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), ensured that they levelled the front of the office by damaging all APC inscriptions.
A body of youths, named Yoruba Development Coalition (YDC) has kicked against reported protests against the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kayode Ariwoola by some Northerners, charging those behind the protest to allow the apex judicial officer to concentrate on his national assignment.
The forum which is shaddled with the responsibilities of working for the development of Yoruba Land and progress of all Yoruba sons and daughters, appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for the appointment of Justice Kayode Ariwola as CJN which was confirmed by the senate.
In a release issued at the end of a special meeting held at Ibadan on Sunday, the group queried the reason for what they called ‘bad blood’ as currently showed by some northerners.
The release which was jointly signed by Com. Oni Arowosoge who represented Ekiti, Cornelius Akinsete, Ondo, Jide Bolarinwa and Ajayi Jawando for Lagos and Osun, while Com Ismail Alani and Niyi Ositelu signed for Oyo and Ogun States respectively, pointed out the fact that those engaging in such protest represented disgruntled nothern youths without direction on how things should be run in a multiethnic nation like Nigeria.
“CJN Kayode Ariwoola is a man of Honour, man with unblemished record in public service, man of impeccable character who distinguished himself in his chosen career. We trust that our son is not partisan, he wouldn’t come near party politics, he is a legal practitioner, politics is not his taste, don’t use it to destroy him.
“Ariwoola is a real son of Yorubaland, a lover of justice and first class Pan Nigerian. All these illogical calls for his removal is dead on arrival, calling for his resignation could be an attempt to distract him from national assignment, callers must drop the idea immediately. He must not be distracted because task ahead of his is bigger and important than ethics and a political party politics.
“Nigerians of good conscience must rise up to defend truth, judicial independence and right to human dignity that CJN Justice Ariwoola stands for. His fundamental right must be protected and respected by all irrespective of bad media and fake news.
“This public information appeal to all Nigerians to speak up against the Northernisation of all important political and non-political offices in Nigeria. Elements behind the protest must have it at the back of their minds that other ethics nationals have rights to all democratic offices and positions and everyone must be allowed to take advantage of democracy and its benefits for the goods of all Nigeria,” they said.
A Coalition of Civil Societies yesterday took their protest to the National Assembly where they insisted on the sack of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tajudeen Ariwoola, over his alleged partisanship and making utterances that could erode the integrity of the judiciary.

The Owaloko of Iloko Ijesa, in oriade local government area of Osun State, Oba (Dr) Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe, on Friday installed seven traditional chiefs to fill the vacant traditional Chieftaincy titles of Saba, Bajemo, Yeyero, Yeyesaba, Yeyedofin, Yeyejemu and Yeyenurin of the ancient community.
Those installed to occupy the vacant positions are; High Chief James Ademola Osedahunsi (Saba), Chief Makinde Akinwumi (Bajemo), Chief Mrs Wuraola Bosede Ogungbangbe (Yeyero), Chief Mrs Rachel Adesuyi (Yeyesaba), Chief Mrs Christianah Morolayo Oni (Yeyedofin) and Chief Mrs Christianah Ogunsuyi (Yeyenurin).
The monarch in his address charged the new traditional chiefs to see to the continued development, progress and peaceful coexistence of Iloko Ijesa.
He said they should see their Chieftaincy positions as a call to duty by working for the good cause of Iloko Ijesa and her citizens.
According to him, they should see themselves as an ambassador of Iloko Ijesa.
In the same vein, the newly installed Chiefs pledged their allegiance to the monarch and also expressed commitment towards the development of the ancient community.
