2023: Atiku Will Sell Our Assets, Obi Is Stingy And Will Make Nigerians Hungry – Tinubu

Akure, the capital of Ondo State stood-still on Saturday as mammoth crowd thronged major streets in the town to catch a glimpse of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Tinubu was in Akure in continuation of the Presidential campaign rally of the APC.

Massive crowd stormed the Akure Airport to received the APC candidate. The huge crowd followed the long motorcade conveying the Presidential candidate to the venue of the rally.

The massive crowd filled the expansive M.K.O Abiola Democracy Park, venue of the event, to the brim.

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, CON received Asiwaju Tinubu and his entourage at the Airport.

Governor Akeredolu was joined by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and his Ogun State counterpart, Prince Dapo Abiodun. Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his Ekiti State counterpart, Mrs Christiana Afuye also joined the Governors to receive the APC Presidential candidate.

Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye; former Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola; National Secretary of the APC, Senator Iyiola Omisore; other members of the National Working Committee, members of the Ondo State Executive council, leaders and members of the party, were also on ground to receive the APC Presidential candidate.

The jet conveying Asiwaju Tinubu and his entourage touched down at exactly 12:50pm at the Akure Airport.

At the rally, the former Lagos State Governor promised to make the coastal area of the state a tourist centre.

According to him, if elected, his government will develop Ondo Deep Sea Port and develop hydroelectricity.

He said he will give the people uninterrupted energy and not estimated billings, adding that the people will enjoy good governance.

His words:”We will tame the surge of Atlantic like we tamed the surge in Lagos. For good and proper things to happen in this country, we will definitely look at all the abandoned projects and failed promises of the past and rehabilitate them, give you the opportunity to become a manufacturing centre and economic centre in Ondo state.

“We will definitely develop Ondo Deep Sea Port. We will develop hydroelectricity and give you uninterrupted energy and not estimated billings, stealing your money. We will do more . Don’t create conflict, don’t create enmity, we are a people of peace, progress and prosperity.

“The message we bring here today is that of a renewed hope, a renewed assurance that education will receive priority in our government. No children of the poor will be left behind.

“If you don’t have the money we will establish student credit loan so that you can go to school. You will be educated, you will be experts to be what you dream and desire to be. Your future will not be bleak. You are given this assurance by me, you trust me, you trust what I did in Lagos.”

Tinubu assured Nigerians of renewed hope, promising to change the narratives of the people of the country for good.

The Presidential campaign rally was attended by Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and his Ogun State counterpart, Prince Dapo Abiodun; Wife of the Ondo State Governor, Chief Betty Anywanwu-Akeredolu; Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his Ekiti State counterpart, Mrs Christiana Afuye.

Others were Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye; former Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola; National Secretary of the APC, Senator Iyiola Omisore; other members of the National Working Committee, members of the Ondo State Executive council, leaders and members of the party and thousands of APC supporters and loyalists.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was full of gratitude to people of the state for the rousing welcome and warm reception given him, described the people of the state as dependable and sincere.

He appreciated Governor Akeredolu for always standing up for justice and fairness, stressing that Ondo State is the home of the progressives.

Asiwaju Tinubu informed the mammoth crowd that the coming election is for the betterment of the people and the country in general.

The former Lagos State Governor pleaded with the people not to lose their PVCs, saying the rally signaled a renewed hope for the country.

Tinubu, who expressed confidence that he will win the election, also urged the people not vote for those who will sell their future or make their children go to bed hungry.

He said he was determined to create safer, more prosperous and dynamic society.

According to him, the progressive governance can only be brought to the people by someone who had once governed in a progressive manner.

He noted that the PDP Presidential candidate is not ready to do the courageous and hardwork required to build a better nation.

“He cares little that his policies and actions will impoverish you and you will be left with nothing.” He added.

Tinubu also took a swipe on Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, describing him as a wicked parent who held money in his hand while the children go to bed hungry.

The APC Presidential candidate explained that when Obi served as Governor of Anambra State, no farmer or city dweller prospered, urging Nigerians to reject the LP Presidential candidate at the polls.

He noted that Nigerians cannot entrust their future or that of the nation to “Mr Sell Everything” like Atiku and “Mr Stingy like Obi” .

The APC presidential candidate said himself and his running mate, Shettima have brought a message to renew hope through empowerment to all Nigerians.

“I love what Akeredolu has done. I respect Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, he has improved infrastructure status of Ondo State. He has restored Ondo State glory in the plantation. Cocoa plantation will fetch fortunes, he has put Bitumen on front burner. He is chatting the path of industrialization of Ondo State. He is making Ondo State a definite tourist destination.” He said.

The host and Ondo State Governor,Arakunrin Akeredolu, who assured Tinubu that Ondo State is a progressive state, said the APC will emerge victorious in the coming elections.

He appreciated all the party leaders and governors, especially Ganduje for gracing the rally.

Also, the National Secretary of the party and former deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, said Nigerians will vote APC in the coming elections, promising that APC will change the narratives and bring hope to the hopeless.

Earlier, the State Chairman of APC, Ade Adetimehin, said Ondo State people are already “BATified”, saying APC stands strong in the State.

“We are united under the able leadership of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. Ondo State will beat Lagos State in terms of numbers of votes. APC will deliver Ondo State for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. All our candidates for Senate,, Reps and House of Assembly will win in the coming polls”, Adetimehin added.

Video: Serial Thief Arrested For Stealing Phones Worth Millions Of Naira In Ibadan

Indigenous Youths Visit Eruwa Poly Mgt, Seek Institution’s Collaboration To Tackle Insecurity

Eruwa Youth Movement (EYM) which is the apex youth organization in Eruwa, Ibarapa East Local Government of Oyo State, paid a courtesy call to the Management of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa on Wednesday, 4th January 2023.

The occasion had in attendance the leadership of Eruwa Youth Movement, led by Com. Kunle Adebola, the entire Management of the Institution, led by the Ag. Rector, Dr. Gbade Akinteye.

Speaking at the meeting, the President of Eruwa Youth Movement appreciated the Management for the warm reception accorded them, despite their tight schedule. He also commended the Management for the passion and unrelenting efforts toward the development of the Institution and, by extension, the Eruwa community.

Speaking further, Com. Adebola bemoaned the security situation in the country and urged the Management to join hands with the community in mapping out ways by which crime can be curtailed in the community.

According to him, “It’s important to discuss the second site of the Institution (Okolo site) which has been neglected for long. The Management should find a way to execute meaningful projects on the site. Obviously, the economy of the community and its environ will improve if something is done on that site”.

The Vice President of the association, Com. Olawoore Adefemi, also charged the Management of the Institution to float more programs for the Institution, even if it requires partnership with private sectors and other degree-awarding Institutions.

Responding, the Ag. Rector, Dr. Gbade Akinteye, appreciated the leadership of Eruwa Youth Movement for their familiarisation visit. According to him, “your presence is a sign of peace, unity, and progress of the Institution and Ibarapa at large.” He acknowledged the association as a socio-cultural, progressive and indigeneous group of all youths in Eruwa community.

Dr. Akinteye also commended the representatives of EYM for not being driven by personal interests but by collective interest, aimed at the development of Eruwa community, and Ibarapa at large.

“We commend your efforts for putting sentiments aside because of your passion for growth and development of the region. Let me update you on happenings in and around us of recent. Our Institution was first approved two years ago as centre for UTME. Unfortunately, it was deregistered due to technical issues. Since then, the Governing Council, Management, and other concerned bodies have been working assiduously to re-enlist the school. In fact, it was one of the issues discussed at the last Governing Council meeting. To the glory of God, our CBT Center has been approved again for UTME examination and registration.

“On the issue of insecurity, it is one of the issues raised during the last visitation of the Executive Governor of Oyo State to our Institution and the Management are also looking inward to improve the security apparatus of the institution.”

Responding to the call for establishment of additional programs, the Ag. Rector explained that enrollment of students is being determined by the regulatory body for polytechnics across the country, and it was one of the reasons for the establishment of part-time programs.

“When I came onboard as the Ag. Rector of this Institution, students’ population then was about 3,000. Presently, we have about 5,000 students in this campus. It is my belief that students’ population will increase after the proposed graduation ceremony of the Institution. The Okolo site has been used for preliminary programs before but the situation of the site now is not suitable for academic activities until more funds are injected. That’s why we are using the place for agricultural activities for now. The institution is spending more on accreditation, salary augmentation, and other developmental programs.”

The Ag. Registrar, Mr. Dele Oladipo, commended the leadership of EYM for taking productive steps. He added that lack of peace in the community often times contributed to insecurity. He then urged EYM excos to serve as agent of peace, unity, and progress between the iynstitution and the community at large.

Similarly, the Deputy Rector, Mr Asimiyu Oladeji, admonished EYM representatives to remain passionate about community development.

Ondo Gov, Akeredolu Approves N523m For WAEC Fees

The Ondo State Government has approved the payment of 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) fees for students in public schools in the state.

A total sum of N523,948,400 was approved by the governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, CON.

This followed a memo sent to the governor by the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and signed by the Commissioner, Pastor Femi Agagu. The memo was dated December 29th, 2022.

In approving the memo, Governor Akeredolu instructed that the sum be “paid directly to WAEC to be receipted for”.

According to the memo, a total number of 28,946 students in Public Secondary Schools across the state will benefit from the gesture.

The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Richard Olatunde said the gesture was part of the determination of the Akeredolu led administration to encourage education and ease the financial burden on parents.

“The Akeredolu led administration has continued to prioritise functional education in the state. Aside the reconstruction of public Primary Schools in the State, this administration has been committed to payment of WASSCE fees.

“This gesture will surely bring a great relief to Parents and Guardians across the state. Governor Akeredolu has unwavering belief that education is the key to a secured future.

“Again, this is a promise kept. It is in line with the REDEEMED Agenda of the Akeredolu led administration under which we have Educational Advancement and Human Development.” Olatunde said.

Kidnapped Iseyin Hotelier Regains Freedom After Ransom Payment

ODUDUWA NEWS has just gathered that the recently kidnapped Iseyin hotelier has regained his freedom.

The hotelier identified as Mr. Dejo Ajuwon, the owner of Nice Hotel was kidnapped on Wednesday while working in his farm situated along Moniya-Iseyin road.

A source said he was released on Friday after spending about two days in the hands of the abductors.

According to the report, undisclosed amount of money said to have been paid to the kidnappers before he was finally freed.

What You Need To Know As JAMB Begins 2023 UTME Registration Jan 14

JAMB Registration will commence on 14th January 2023 while the UTME (examination) will start on 24th April 2023. See everything you need to know before the registration starts.

Below is a summary of everything you need to know before the registration commence:

1. NIN Is Mandatory

According to the JAMB, candidates interested in registering for the 2023 UTME must supply their National Identity Number (NIN) to complete the process.

2. Registration Date And Centres

The JAMB 2023 UTME registration portal will open from 14th January to 14th February 2023. There may not be an extension for the sales of the registration form, buy it as soon as you can.

JAMB Registration must be at the Approved JAMB CBT Centers.

3. Optional Mock And UTME Exam Dates

The mock examination which is optional for candidates will be conducted on the 16th of March 2023. While the 2023 UTME (main exam) is billed to hold from ​Saturday, 29th April to Saturday, 12th May, 2023.

“The venue of the examination will be at any of the centres in the candidate’s chosen examination town,” the examination body, added.

4. Registration Fee

The registration fee for the 2023 application documents is N3,500 and N500 for the recommended Reading Text (novel). Budget atleast 5,000 for other charges and transport fare

5. JAMB Recommended Novel

As of the time of updating this page, the JAMB Recommended Novel hasn’t been announced yet. If they should use that of 2022, then it will be “The Life Changer” by Khadija Abubakar Jali.

6. Generating JAMB Profile Codes

All JAMB candidate MUST use their phone number to get their JAMB Profile Code for the UTME registration.

The phone number can be used by one candidate only. CANDIDATES SHOULD NOTE AND ALWAYS REMEMBER THE NUMBER USED, IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE FOR SUBSEQUENT COMMUNICATION WITH THE BOARD.

The 2023 JAMB Candidates can now start generating their profile codes through the procedure below.

Candidate should send his/her National Identification Number (NIN) by text (SMS) to 55019 or 66019 from his/her phone number e.g write the word “NIN” then space and add your 11-digit NIN Number and send to 55019 or 66019 in this format (NIN 00123456789).
There should be a space between the word “NIN” and your 11-digit NIN (Note that the number must not have been used by another person to register for UTME/DE in the past).

A Profile Code of 10 characters will be sent to the candidate on the same phone number
The phone number used for the text message is automatically tied to the candidate’s 2023 application, Examination, and Admission.

After getting the profile code, what next?

Candidate will present the profile code at the point of obtaining the JAMB form (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, USSD Partners).
An ePIN will then be sent as a text message to the candidate’s Phone number

The candidate will present the ePIN and profile code at any JAMB-accredited CBT Centre for registration

Other Things To Note

The application cannot be completed until the candidate’s biometric (all ten fingers) are captured and photograph taken physically (No submission of passport photograph). Successful capture of biometrics and photograph will authorize a candidate to print his/her e-registration slip. The finger print shall be required for any further transaction with JAMB on the candidates’ profile.

NOTE:
Only candidates whose biometrics verification is successful on examination day will be permitted to sit the UTME. No parent or any proxy is allowed to make any transaction on the candidates’ profile.
Candidates with biometric challenges can only register at JAMB headquarters Abuja. The arrangement will be made for this through JAMB state offices

Son kidnaps father, collects N2.5m ransom

The Kwara State Police Command has arrested one Issa Naigheti for allegedly kidnapping his father and collecting a ransom of N2.5m.

Ajayi Okasanmi, spokesman of the command, who disclosed this said the suspect was arrested around Kambi area of Ilorin.

He said officers attached to the anti-kidnapping team of the Kwara police command arrested the suspect while on the trail of suspected kidnappers.

Okasanmi added that efforts were ongoing to arrest his other accomplices.

“The suspect confessed under interrogation to having conspired with two others to kidnap his father, Bature Naigboho in Igboho/Igbeti area of Oyo State and collected N2.5m ransom”, Okasanmi said.

He added that the case would be transferred to Oyo State, the venue of the crime.

Ogun Police Detains Couple, Six Others For Allegedly Killing, Dismembering 26yrs Old Lady

A couple Taiwo Olutufese Ajalorun and Salawa Oyenusi Ajalorun were on Wednesday 4th of January 2023 arrested along with six others namely: Lukman Oladele, Kayode Ibrahim, Bello Akeem, Alebiosu Adebayo, Fatai Rasheed and Fatai Jimoh for kidnapping, killing and dismembering of a 26yrs old mother of two, Oyindamola Adeyemi.

The suspects were apprehended following a report lodged at Obalende divisional headquarters; Ijebu-Ode by one Ojo Omolara who reported that her neighbor, Oyindamola Adeyemi left home since morning of Wednesday 28th of December 2022 but didn’t return home and her phone has since then been switched off.

Since it is not 24hrs, she was advised to come back.
But the following day, been 29th of December 2022, while patrol team from Obalende division were on routine patrol, a dismembered body of a lady was discovered by the road side and the body was taken to a mortuary.
Fortunately, the mortuary is a stone thrown distance away from the house of the deceased and one of the mortuary workers who knew about the missing person called the attention of the deceased family to come and see the body brought by the police.

On getting there, the deceased friend, Ojo Omolara was able to identify it through the bra and underwear she put on since her head was already chopped off. Having recognised the body, the DPO Obanlende division, SP MURPHY SALAMI mobilized his crack detectives and embarked on a technical intelligence based investigation which led to one Taiwo Olutufese Ajalorun an herbalist whose possession the deceased Itel phone was recovered. He was promptly arrested, and a search warrant was duly executed in his house where a container full of human blood, later discovered to be that of the deceased was recovered. His arrest led to the apprehension of his friend, Lukman Oladele whose house the legs of the deceased were also recovered.

They both made confessional statements which led to the arrest of other suspects who are buyers of different parts of the deceased body, on interrogation, Taiwo Ajalorun and Lukman Oladele confessed that the deceased was lured to the house of Taiwo who happened to her man friend, but her soon as the victim entered, she was pinned down by both Taiwo Olutufese Ajalorun and Lukman Oladele and the subsequently strangled her to death.

After killing her, they cut of the head, legs, and the two hands, which they sold to thier standby buyers to be used for money making ritual. According them,the legs of the deceased were sold at the rate of #30,000, while the heart was sold for #50,000 to Hakeem Bello. The person who bought the head is still at large.
The suspects confessed further that the victim was the third persons they had killed in such gruesome manner.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre S. BANKOLE has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Homicide section of the State criminal investigation department.

Hotelier Abducted On His Farm In Iseyin

ODUDUWA NEWS has gathered that an hotelier identified as Dr. Dejo Ajuwon who is the founder of Nice Hotel in Iseyin has been kidnapped on Wednesday while working on his farm along Serafu, Moniya-Iseyin road.

Recall, Iseyin and other towns in Oke-Ogun region of Oyo State have been in the news for sometime over incessant spate of kidnapping and banditry attacks usually recorded in that axis.

It was learnt that the recent incident of kidnapping was the second of its kind to occur in the Serafu village in the past few weeks. In early December, a friend of a local farm owner was also reportedly abducted, and the ransom of Two Million Naira said to have been paid to regain his freedom.

After retiring from active civil service, Mr. Ajuwon moved back to his hometown in Iseyin to start his agricultural and hospitality businesses, which he has been operating for about ten years.

ODUDUWA NEWS learnt that before the recent incident, the residents of Iseyin had earlier alerted the security agencies on the need to comb the forests nearby “Serafu” village and the farm settlements in that axis to gather intelligence on the operational tactics of some of the kidnappers who continuously terrorize the community.

As at the time of filing this report, the kidnappers have not reached out to the family of the abducted hotelier on any ransom.

‘Fifth Columnists’ In APC Frustrating Moves To Reconcile Me With Tinubu – Aregbesola


Alleged attack by the Minister of Interior and Former Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, on the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the February 2023 General Elections, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been described as fake news and a creation of the imagination of jittery politicians who are bent on maligning the Minister in order to cause disaffection between the duo.

A statement signed by Sola Fasure, the media adviser to Aregbesola on Wednesday titled, ‘Jittery Politicians Scared of Full Reconciliation’, stated that there is a well coordinated sinister plot to frustrate the reconciliation efforts being championed by notable individuals and other key stakeholders.

“We are observing a sinister and coordinated effort to frustrate the reconciliatory moves being championed by notable stakeholders within and beyond our party to rally all necessary factors for the success of our Party at the February 2023 Presidential Election.

“Just last week, jittery politicians who are authors of this malicious manuscript, paid a handful of rent-a-crowd comedians to react to a non-existent ‘attack’ and regurgitate the storyline again, with the intention to frustrate a series of reconciliation steps for their selfish interest”, Fasure noted.

The Minister’s Adviser further stated that some known interest keeps promoting a narrative that he’s attacking or has once attacked Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as fake news and targeted at maligning his person.

“The social media news making the rounds is targeted at maligning the person of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as concerns an alleged attack on the person of the presidential candidate of our Party, The All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This is FAKE news and simply not True.

“We urge well-meaning Nigerians to be wary of the evil machinations of this cult of fifth columnists, whose sole business is to cause dissatisfaction, manufacture distractions and sow seeds of doubt”, Fasure revealed.

The statement further said the Minister is focused on his current ministerial duties and ensuring his party, the APC emerges victorious at the Presidential election in February 2023.
