Police Confirms Arrest Of Soldier For Allegedly Stabbing Civilian In Ondo

A soldier serving with the Nigerian Army has been arrested by the state police command for allegedly stabbing one boy Bummi Omodele in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

The soldier named Tope Kazeem was alleged to have stabbed the victim severally at the back and other parts of the body with knife as the victim who is now in a critical condition has been rushed to an undisclosed hospital.

It was gathered that, he was said to have committed the crime with his friend, Azeez Ayomide at Adilewa area, off Oyemekun road, Akure.

The soldier was at the area to protect his friend (Ayomide) who had a minor disagreement with the victim.

Reacting, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami confirmed the incident, but she did not give further details.

It was however gathered that the soldier had been transferred to the police headquarters for further interrogation.
