Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have uncovered a suspected counterfeit currency printing operation in Kiniso Village, via Ajue, in Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

The operation led to the arrest of a suspect identified as Peter Desmond and the recovery of three bags containing suspected counterfeit United States dollar notes.

Police operatives also recovered other materials believed to be connected to the alleged illicit activity, although the authorities are yet to disclose further details about the operation.

The arrest represents a significant development in efforts to tackle currency counterfeiting and other financial crimes in the state.

Further investigations are expected to establish the suspect’s alleged involvement, determine the origin and intended use of the suspected counterfeit notes, and identify any other individuals connected to the operation.
