The Ondo State Police Command has arrested 14 suspects following a mob attack on police officers and a police facility in Ala, Akure North Local Government Area of the state.

The incident reportedly occurred after the killing of a farmer identified as Rasheed Hassan. Two suspects arrested in connection with the murder were allegedly targeted by youths who attempted to remove them from police custody to subject them to jungle justice.

During the violence, two police officers sustained gunshot injuries, raising concerns over the safety of security personnel and the growing threat of mob action in the state.

The police said investigations were ongoing, while additional security personnel had been deployed to prevent further violence and maintain law and order in the affected community.
