LAUTECH ASUU Begins Indefinite Strike Over Unpaid Allowances, Promotion Arrears

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso branch, has declared a total and indefinite strike over the alleged failure to implement the 2025 Federal Government–ASUU agreement and settle outstanding staff entitlements.

The strike commenced at midnight on Thursday, October 29, following the expiration of a 14-day ultimatum issued to the university management.

The union is demanding the payment of outstanding Earned Academic Allowances (EAA), promotion arrears covering the period from 2013 to 2025, and the full implementation of the 2025 Federal Government–ASUU agreement.

The industrial action is expected to disrupt lectures, examinations and other academic activities at the institution until the union’s demands are addressed.

The development has raised concerns about the potential impact of the strike on students’ academic calendars and the timely completion of academic programmes.
