IGP Disu Appoints Olatunji Fatai as New Lagos CP

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the appointment of Olatunji Fatai as the new Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, replacing Moshood Jimoh who has been redeployed to Zone 2, Lagos, following his recent promotion.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Placid, who noted that the redeployments are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force.

According to the statement, the changes are in line with the Force’s commitment to maintaining an effective command structure and ensuring the strategic deployment of personnel across various commands, formations, and departments nationwide.

The IGP explained that the redeployment exercise is aimed at enhancing leadership efficiency, boosting operational effectiveness, and improving overall service delivery across the country.

In a broader reshuffle, several Commissioners of Police were also reassigned to key state commands. Among them, Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed was posted to head the Federal Capital Territory Command, while Haruna Alaba Yahaya, Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola, and Olubode Ojajuni were deployed to Jigawa, Oyo, and Ogun states respectively.

Other postings include Michael Adegoroye Falade to Ekiti, Yakubu Useni Dankaro to Adamawa, Morkwap S. Dongshal to Taraba, Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara, Umar Ali Fagge to Katsina, and Hayatu Shaffa Hassan to Sokoto State Command.

The statement further revealed that several senior officers were also deployed to strategic departments and units, including INTERPOL, the Special Protection Unit, FCID Annex offices, and various police training institutions across the country.

The IGP charged all affected officers to bring their wealth of experience to bear in their new assignments while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and dedication to duty.
