A Group, Patriotic Citizens Assembly has kicked against giving returning ticket of PDP to the serving member of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebayo Babajide (Jagaban).

The Group affirmed its opposing stance today in a statement sent to ODUDUWA NEWS as read in part:

ONE GOOD TURN, THEY SAY DESERVES ANOTHER

“It was on a Saturday evening, the people of Ibadan North Local Government came out in their numbers to celebrate the emergence of both the newly elected Governor and their representatives at the house of assembly not minding the downpour after delivering over 49, 000 votes.

“The folks of Ibadan North 2 believed it was the right time to change the narrative of representation as they have a candidate, now representative who promised a new face of politics that which is of inclusion. Unfortunately the constituency 2 of the Local Government never got to see their representative after the elections, except for parties, hotels and beer parlours.

“Since his emergence as a honourable member of the State House of Assembly, unlike his colleagues, our honourable hasn’t even done a thank you visit to the six wards of his own political party he claim he is representing not to talk of various groups who rejected money, eloquence and undue influence to support and canvass votes for whom they believe was one of their own and a true son of the street.

“2023 election is around the corner and the self acclaimed ‘Jagaban’ of Oyo 9th Assembly is going round claiming to have delivered over 49,000 votes at the last election. This same person who is scared of going to the primaries is now relying on the good work and automatic anointing of the People’s Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde to secure the ticket of his party and not based on his own performance.

“This is the same person who has not marked his name on any tangible projects for his constituency other than buying beers and organising parties. And never has he used his office to attract or facilitate any project from the state or local Government to the constituency he is representing.

“The question that keeps begging for answer is that, does our honourable ‘bad turn deserve another’?.

“Does he deserve to be the automatic flag bearer without putting his good personality and name* to test at the level of his party primaries, before going to the deep waters and cold waters of general elections?.

“The loss of honourable Demola Omotosho is still fresh.
Perhaps the party has resigned to loosing the constituency to opposing party come 2023″.
