Nollywood actress, Mide Martins has received knock from her fan over video of her paying respect to Fuji singer, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (Kwam1).
In a video posted on her Instagram page, the wife of Afeez Owo, had attended the same event as the music maestro.
The video captured the moment Mide Martins approached Kwam1, who was sitting with his friends to pay respect to him. The movie star knelt before him as they exchanged pleasantries
A fan of hers, who wasn’t pleased with her way of kneeling before the singer, faulted her for it.
Calling it hypocrisy, he stated that he is sure the actress doesn’t kneel before her husband.
Apex Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, has decried the “insensitive policies” of the administration of President Bola Tinubu, especially the “sudden” removal of petrol subsidy and the “total” disregard for the impact of the action on the people and the economy.
Afenifere in a statement on Friday by its Secretary General, Sola Ebiseni, the group said in six weeks, “an already asphyxiating economy reeling under the crushing impact of hyperinflation, unemployment, mass hunger and poverty foisted by the gross ineptitude and incompetence that characterized the watch of eight years is looking like an episode drawn straight out of Dante’s Hell”.
The group, which endorsed Tinubu during the February 25, 2023 poll, said it could no longer “fold its arms or be seen to maintain silence, neutrality or ambivalence in the face of this latest body blow on an already traumatized citizenry”.
“It is feared that this latest gross act of thoughtless policy implementation and its unintended consequences will further push Nigeria’s economy down the slope as Nigeria has officially overtaken India as The New Poverty Capital of the World,” Afenifere warned.

President Bola Tinubu, former Head of State Gen. Abusalam Abubakar, and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun paid tribute to the late Lt. Gen. Oladipo Diya (retd.), who was laid to rest on Saturday.

A 50-year-old Beninese farmer, Poni Bada, left his country home for Nigeria, with his unsuspecting nine-year-old son, who he intended to use for money rituals.

The Ayedero of Yorubaland, Honourable (Dr.) Shina Abiola Peller, on Thursday paid a condolence visit to the popular Yoruba freedom fighter, Chief Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, in Cotonou, Benin Republic over the demise of his mother, Sikirat Abeo Adeyemo.
Honourable Peller expressed his heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s son, Sunday Igboho, his siblings and other family members while he urged them to take solace in the fact that mama lived a purposeful and fulfilled life.
The Ayedero of Yorubaland added that the late Mama Sikiratu Adeyemo has left great legacies behind, noting that one of the legacies is Sunday Igboho himself, whom the Oke Ogun-born businessman cum politician described as a great personality and freedom fighter of note.
Moreover, Honourable Peller seized the opportunity to pray for the soul of the deceased and that God gives Sunday Igboho, his siblings and other family members the fortitude to bear the loss.
In his response, Mr. Adeyemo expressed profound gratitude to Honourable Shina Peller for the visit while he also seized the opportunity to share some of the good memories of his late mother with him. Mr. Adeyemo described his late mother as loving, spiritual, all-embracing, nurturing, ever supportive, encouraging and a source of inspiration.
Mr. Adeyemo hails from the same Oke Ogun region where Honourable Peller is from. While Adeyemo hails from Igboho in Orelope Local Government area of the Oke Ogun region, Oyo State, Honourable Peller hails from Iseyin. They are also both in the same Oyo North Senatorial District.
Veteran actor Tajudeen Oyewole, popularly known as Abija, has received a car gift from fans and well wishers around the world.
This is coming weeks after the Ibadan-based skit maker, Kamo state, called for donation to get a car for Abija after the same gesture has been extended to Alapinni and Lalude.
Kamo presented the car to Abija on Thursday, July 27, in an hearth-warming video released on his official Facebook page as monitored by ODUDUWA NEWS.
