Alaafin of Oyo Strengthens Ties with Oke-Ogun Obas During Historic Visit

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba (Dr.) Lamidi Adeyemi’s successor, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, yesterday paid a historic visit to the Oke-Ogun Zone 1 Obas, reaffirming unity and strengthening the bond among traditional rulers in Oyo State.

The royal gathering, held at Aseyin of Iseyin Palace in Oke-Ogun, brought together first-class and prominent monarchs across the zone, with discussions centered on regional development, cultural preservation, and the need for stronger collaboration among traditional institutions.

During the meeting, the Alaafin commended the Oke-Ogun Obas for their steadfastness in upholding Yoruba culture and fostering peace within their domains. He also urged them to continue working in synergy with the Oyo traditional council for the overall progress of the state.

In response, the Oke-Ogun monarchs expressed delight at the Alaafin’s visit, describing it as a mark of respect and a symbol of the long-standing unity within the Yoruba traditional system. They assured him of their continued cooperation in matters of cultural and community development.

The event was marked by cultural displays, warm receptions, and reaffirmation of shared commitment to the growth of Oyo State.

Among the traditional rulers that were present at the visitation were Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Oyebola Adeyeri III, Alado of Ado-Awaye, Oba Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi, Onjo of Okeho, Oba Mustapha Osuolale Adeitan II, among several other traditional rulers.
