Amid the ongoing public outrage that has greeted the brutal killing of Lagos-based Lawyer, Bolanle Raheem by a trigger-happy cop, ASP Drambi Vandi on Christmas day, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi has come out to share his thoughts on the claim being made by the suspect that the deceased was killed by an accidental discharge from his rifle.

Recall that while narrating what led to his fatal shooting of the victim a few days ago, Vandi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), attached to Ajiwe Division in Ajah, Lagos State, claimed that the deceased was killed after a bullet accidentally discharged from his rifle.
However, speaking during an interview with newsmen, a few hours ago, CSP Adejobi argued that ASP Vandi’s claim of an accidental discharge was false. According to the Police Spokesman, the shot wouldn’t have been fired if the rifle was not corked in the first instance.

“Let me say this, I don’t believe in an accidental discharge. There is nothing like that. If you don’t cork your gun, you cannot fire. And if your rifle is not corked, then you can’t pull the trigger. If you cork your gun, then it means you are ready to fire. So, I don’t think there is anything called accidental discharge.”
