FIBSU National: Parliament suspends president, Aare Ademola Confidence for financial misconduct, abuse of power, caution against sales of union bus

The 5th National Parliament of Federation of Ibadan Students’ Union under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Kamil Umaru Faruk has announced the suspension of the Union President, Aare Ademola Abdulganiy pka Confidence and Vice-President 1, Comr. Zulykhor Aramide from office with immediate effect.

According to the made statement made available to news men, it was gathered that the House acted on the petition submitted by concerned members of the union citing financial misconduct, abuse of power, fraud, and using the name of the union to beg for money from individuals which has brought shame to the name of the union.

The 5th National Speaker stated that after receiving the allegation, the President and Vice-President were called to give their own part of the story, but the President in his usual arrogant ways decided not to show up, and the Vice-president 1 that showed wasn’t able to convinced the house beyond reasonable doubt, hence the indefinite suspension.

A motion for the suspension of the President & Vice-president 1 was moved and was seconded, after which the speaker called for a counter motion but wasn’t moved, and the house unanimously agreed to Suspend the two of them, in order to save the image of the union, pending the outcome of final investigation.

The house report also stated that the President has been directed to handover to the Vice-president 2 of the Union, and return all the union property in his care and Vice-president 2 , Comr. Oladipupo Ayomikun Emmanuel shall be acting in capacity of Acting President of the union pending the outcome of the special investigation of the house.
Furthermore, the President was specially warmed to return the union bus to the premises of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, in order not to follow the footstep of his successor who sold the union bus.

FIBSU National Honours University of Ibadan Chief Imam, Prof. Oloyede

The Federation of Ibadan Students’ Union National Council on Friday, 3rd of September 2022 honored Professor M. Oloyede Abdulraman with an award of Excellence in respect to his contribution to the development and growth of FIBSU National.

Presenting the Award after the Friday Jumat Prayer at the Central Mosque of the University of Ibadan, Aare Fakolade Anuoluwapo, National President of the Union stated that the award is a token from the association to the Islamic Scholar on the role he played during the last FIBSU National Ramadan Lecture which held at the Assembly Hall of the Polytechnic Ibadan some months ago.

Receiving the Award, Professor Oloyede Abdulraman prayed for the union and also reiterated his support for the union members.

In the entourage of the National President were members of his executive council, chapter Presidents, and other stakeholders.

FOSSU National Leadership Visits Oyo State SSG, Seeks For Continuous Collaboration

Oyo State students leaders visit MRS. Olabamiwo Adeosun, the Secretary to the State Government, Oyo State.

On Thursday, 14th July 2022, The National Leadership of Federation of Oyo State Students’ Union (FOSSU NATIONAL) was Led by Sen. Ibrahim A. ALARAPE on a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the State Government of Oyo State.

The visitation was centered on the pressing needs of the Union to rise to the occasion of the lingering Strike of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of higher institutions in the State. Matters relating to the dividend of democracy from the State Government to the students populace viz: Bursary, Scholarships and other related education support schemes through which the students population can be the major beneficiaries among others were discussed.

In her remarks, Mrs. Adeosun who happens to be the first female Secretary to the State Government in Oyo State expresses her gratitude to FOSSU NATIONAL for the visitation. I am honored to receive Oyo State Students, said the Secretary. Comprehensive explanations of all government efforts on JAC were given and the state of affairs was revealed.

While concluding, Mrs Olabamiwo assured FOSSU her full support to get the requests across to the appropriate quarter and follow it to see the light of the day.
