CCII President-General secures Olubadan’s approval for rescheduled Ibadan Week, announces re-election bid

The President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga, accompanied by members of his executive council and the Ibadan Week 2023 committee, paid a courtesy visit to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, seeking his imperial authority over the rescheduling of the Ibadan Week. The date for the event was postponed due to the recent change in the gubernatorial elections and will now be held from April 22nd to 29th, 2023.

During the visit, His Imperial Majesty graciously granted his approval for the new date, indicating his support for the CCII’s efforts to promote and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Ibadanland.
Furthermore, the Kabiyesi expressed his concerns over the issues that have arisen from the CCII in recent times, commending the adept leadership of Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga’s administration in resolving such matters. He was pleased to note the effective measures taken to restore peace and unity among the Ibadan indigenes.

Additionally, Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga conveyed to His Imperial Majesty his ambition to run for a second term as President General of the CCII. The Kabiyesi was pleased with this announcement and eagerly awaits a formal visit from Adeaga and his team.

The CCII remains committed to its mandate of promoting the welfare and advancement of Ibadan indigenes and the overall development of Ibadanland.

CCII Honors Egbe Omo-Ajorosun Club President, Ibadan Cultural Festival 2023 Chair’ as Omoluabi of Ibadanland

The Central Committee Ibadan Festival Week 2023, a creation of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes on Thursday, 29th of December 2023 decorated the President, Egbe Omo-Ajorosun Club President Alhaji Abiola Alli and the Chairman Ibadan Festival Week 2023 Committee Engr. Sunday Gbenjo as Grand Omoluabi of Ibadanland.

You will recall that the decoration and presentation of award marking the pre-activities of the 2023 Ibadan Week Celebration began on Tuesday, 27th December with the President-General of CCII Prince Oluyemisi Adetayo Adeaga where the committee seeks for his prayer for a successful week and was decorated as the Omoluabi of Ibadanland.
Similarly, the Baale of Idi-Obi, Agugu Ibadan, Chief Folarin was also decorated on Wednesday, 28th December 2023.

Third in the series was the decoration and award presentation to the duo of Alhaji Abiola Alli and Engr. Sunday Gbenjo which took place at Ajorosun Club House.

Speaking at the event, the President-General of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes stated that the purpose of award and decoration is not necessarily for money but to appreciate deserving Ibadan sons & daughters who has been contribution to the development of Ibadanland and upholding the Omoluabi virtue.

Receiving the award, the recipient appreciated the CCII and the Committee for finding them worthy and reiterated their continuous support towards the development of Ibadanland, including upholding the Omoluabi virtue.

Ibadan Cultural Festival 2023 Week Pre-activities; Committee Decorates Prince Oluyemisi Adetayo Adeaga As Grand Omoluabi of Ibadanland

The 2023 Ibadan Cultural Festival Week Committee under the Chairmanship of Engr. Sunday Gbenjo on Tuesday, 27th December 2022 decorated the President-General Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga as the Grand Omoluabi of Ibadan.

According to Engr. Sunday Gbenjo the decoration is part of the pre-activities of 2023 Ibadan Cultural Festival which will be commence on the 17th of March 2023 to 25th of March 2023.

In his remark, the Chairman stated that the decoration and award is in recognition of his contribution to the development of Ibadanland as other prominent Ibadan sons and daughters who has and currently contributing to the development of Ibadanland has been identified and will be decorated by the Planning Committee before the official commencement of the Ibadan Week in March, which is also one of the ways by which the committee generates funds internally before seeking for other sponsors.

Furthermore, the Chairman stated that they decided to commence this year’s pre-activities by honoring the first indigene of Ibadanland and also seek for his prayer as they commence work.

Decorating the awardee was the President of Egbe Omo-Ajorosun Club, Chief Abiola Ali, he congratulated Chief Oluyemisi Adeaga and described him as a role model who has always put Ibadan first. He also commended Engr. Sunday Gbenjo for the exemplary leadership he’s giving the committee and encouraged him to continue in his good conduct.

Reacting to the award, the Grand Omoluabi of Ibadanland, Chief Oluyemisi Adetayo Adeaga appreciated the committee and prayed that their work will be successful.
Speaking futher, Chief Oluyemisi Adeaga stated that his journey so far as the President- General has been the grace and devine wisdom of the Almighty God.
He thereafter reiterated his commitment towards the growth of Ibadanland and said that he’s trying all possible best to ensure that the new Ibadan Palace is completed before the completion of his first term and stated that all things been equally, if given a second chance, he will ensure the palace is completed.

JUST IN: Igbimo Egbe Odo Yoruba To Ga Julo Honours CCII Youth President.

The Supreme Forum of Yoruba Youth (Igbimo Egbe Odo Yoruba To Ga Julo) under the leadership of Aare Femi Awogboro, National President, on September 11th, 2022 conferred an honorary award on Dr. Oluwatunmise Adeagbo, the CCII Youth President.

At the event which held at Tunde Odunlade Arts & Culture Gallery Bodija Ibadan, the National President of Supreme Forum of Yoruba Youth, Aare Femi Awogboro stated that the award is in recognition of his outstanding efforts and performance towards the promotion, preservation and respect of yoruba cultural heritage, including his outstanding leadership qualities both in Healthcare and Youth development in the State.

The Awardee, Dr. Oluwatunmise Adeagbo, a Medical Doctor with specialization in Public Health is currently the the National President of Ibadan Prime Youths Forum (IPYF) which is the youth wing of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), he also doubles as the Medical Officer Of Health (MOH) of Lagelu Local Government Health Authoriy.

While responding to the Honorary award of Excellence in Youth Development and Healthcare conferred on him, he commended the organizers, and appreciated them for finding him worthy of the award.

In his speech, he emphasized that with or without award, he’s committed to contributing his own quota to the development of yoruba race and human race by extension, and reiterated his commitment in doing even more than what he’s doing at the moment. Also, he charges and encourage youths to speak with one voice as regards issues that affect them regardless of their cultural, religious, social and tribal diversities.

In the entourage of the Awardee were Ashiwaju Yekeen Jalaruru, Mr Hammed Animasahun and Mr Adekunle Moshood who are all member of the Ibadan Prime Youths Forum.

2022 World Youth Day: IPYF Charges CCII, Other Stakeholders to do more for Ibadan Youths

The Youth Wing of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes code named Ibadan Prime Youths Forum (IPYF) has expressed their dissatisfaction on the high rising rate of Unemployment among Ibadan Youths, and called on CCII, other stakeholder in Ibadan to salvage the situation.

The Youth Wing under the leadership of Dr. Oluwatunmise Adeagbo made the call in their July monthly meeting held on the 17th of July 2022 at Ibadan House, Oke-Aremo within Ibadan Metropolis.

Speaking at the meeting, members accused some Ibadan based government establishment of sidelining Indigenes of the city who are qualified for employment whenever there’s opportunity for employment.
According to the Forum, there are many Indigenes and Youths of the city working as part time and casual workers in some of these Establishment with all requirements to becoming a full time staff but will not be considered whenever there’s opportunity for recruitment of full staff.

Also, the forum explicitly stated that they their request is based on merit and not on omo – onilu or entitlement mentality syndrome, saying that their are more than enough Ibadan sons and daughters qualified both on academic standing and skills.

The Forum finally call on the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes to be more pro-active on the issue of Unemployment among Ibadan Youths and should be there at all time whenever their support is needed.

JUST IN: CCII Scholarship Committee set to Interview Applicants on Tuesday

The highest sociocultural body of all Indigenes of Ibadanland, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) under the leadership of the President General, Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga has called on students who are indigenes of the city and have applied for the 2021/2022 Scholarship to get ready for the first interview stage.

According to the Secretary of the CCII Scholarships Committee, Dr Oluwatunmise Adeagbo in his press statement, he said,” I have the directive of the CCII Scholarships Chairperson Alhaja Adejare and the other members of the CCII Scholarships committee to inform the general public of the screening exercise and interview of all the shortlisted applicants of the 2021/2022 Scholarships award.

Dr Tunmise Adeagbo further stressed that the screening exercise and interview of these shortlisted applicants is scheduled to hold on Tuesday 12th July 2022 at 9am in Ibadan House, Oke Aremo within the Ibadan metropolis.

“We have sent text messages to these prospective CCII Scholars, we want to assure them that all those who applied will be invited and those who are yet to receive theirs will surely get it” He reinstated.

“The President – General has instructed that their should be fairness, which is what the committee stand for, and we will deliver our best”

As relevant stakeholder have been invited, the committee admonished the applicants to be peaceful and coordinate themselves during and after the interview as unruly applicants will be automatically disqualified. Also, applicants are advised to come along with both original and photocopies of their credentials submitted.

The CCII scholarship Award which is one of the cardinal goal of the Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga led Administration is a long term project aimed at assisting indigent, intelligent, hardworking and academically sound students of Ibadanland descent that are excelling in their various field of study. CCII aims to catch these young scholars early for the uplifting and development of Ibadanland.

Ibadan Prime Youth Forum Celebrates Chief Bayo OYERO at 80

The Youth Wing of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Ibadan Prime Youth Forum (IPYF) has sent their felicitation message to a distinguished and successful two-time President – General of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Chief Mustapha Adebayo Oyero.

According to the National Coordinator of the Forum, Dr. Oluwatunmise Adeagbo who described Chief Bayo Oyero as a gift not only to Ibadanland but to humanity as a whole, citing the various levels which he has served Nigeria beyond Ibadan land.

“On behalf of all Ibadan youths (sons and daughters) we celebrate our father, a distinguished scholar of note, and community developer, whose impact in the development of Ibadan remains infallible. We recognize and appreciate his efforts. He has written his name on the good side of history and made indelible contribution to the growth of Nigeria in different capacities where he served. Ibadan Youths are proud of him, as he is one of those eminent personalities we look up to and emulate”

Dr. Oluwatunmise Adeagbo further prayed for longevity of life for Chief Mustapha Adebayo Oyero, and wished him many more years on earth.

Federation of Ibadan Students’ Union National Council on Monday, 18th of April, 2022 held the 3rd FIBSU National Ramadan Lecture at the Assembly Hall of the University of Ibadan.

The lecture had the Chief Imam of the University of Ibadan, Professor M. Oloyede Abdulrahman as the Guest Lecturer with the topic “Nigeria, Religion & Politics for a Sustainable Circular Nation”.

While delivering his lecture, the Chief Imam briefly explained the spread of Islam in Ibadan land and the historical contributions of Baale Apanpa among others as he encouraged more Muslim participation in the political administration of the country for a sustainable development.

Representing the Govenror, was the Special Assistant on Students’ Matters, Hon. Victor Olojede, who delivered the Governor’s message and reiterated the commitment of Engr. Seyi Makinde in prioritizing the welfare of students.

Party Faithfuls Mourn As Oyo APC Factional Chairman, Abu Gbadamosi Loses Son

The factional chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo State, Alhaji Abu Adejare Gbadamosi has lost his son, Comrade Isiaq Otunba Badmus Adejare.

The news of the death of his son came a month after the party Chieftain declared himself the factional party chairman.

Meanwhile, party faithfuls, friends and relatives have been expressing their condolences to Abu Gbadamosi Adejare over the sudden death of his son, Mr Isiaka Gbadamosi Adejare a.k.a Otunba.

“Otunba’s death was a colossal loss to our great party, APC, family members, good people of Ilero, Kajola Local Government as well as Oyo APC in general.

“At this Holy Month of Ramadan, we share in the grief of our leader, father and one of the great pillars in Kajola Progressive fold who has just lost a gem. Otunba’s death should be seen as a test of faith as every mortal shall surely taste death.

“Our prayer is that Allah the most High repose the beautiful soul of the deceased and comfort our leader and the entire families he left behind” said Kajola APC in its condolence message.

Another Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and Okeho born-politician; CHIEF OLUSOLA OGUNBODE (Akinrogun) also sent condolence messages to Hon. Alhaji Abu Adejare Gbadamosi over the demise of his son, Comrade Isiaq Badmus Adejare popularly known as Otunba.

Akinrogun shows his grief in a release he personally signed and made available by his media office; the news of his demise was painful and heartbreaking but give glory to Almighty Allah that the deceased lived a fulfilled life.

He said late Comrade Isiaq Badmus Adejare (Otunba) was a straight forward person, man of impeccable character and agent of togetherness who preached openness, love and sincerity.

The 2022 Ibadan Cultural Festival will come to an tomorrow, 19th of March 2022 with a Grand Finale Ceremony at Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Liberty Road, Oke l-Ado Ibadan understand the leadership of President-General of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga.

This year festival started with a Church Service on the 13th of March 2022 which was well attended by sons and daughters of Ibadan land, including the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde.

According to the Chairman, Central Planing Committee of Ibadan Cultural Festival 2022 Balogun Gaphar Ojetola the Cultural Festival will come to an end tomorrow after series of activities which includes Oreke Beauty Pageant, Quiz & Essay Competition, Talent Hunt, Amala Day, Visit to Olubadan Palace, Football Competition, Ibadan Youth Day, Fellowship Award, Business Luncheon, etc.

The Grand Finale is expected to have in attendance, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State as the Special Guest and the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Senator Mohood Olalekan Balogun Alli Okumade II as the Royal Father of the day.
