CCII President-General, Ekefa Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland Commends Ibadan Prime Youth Forum (IPYF).

The President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Prince Oluyemisi Adetayo Adeaga on Monday, 20th of December, 2021 commended the leadership and all the members of the Ibadan Prime Youth Forum for being a pride to CCII and for fulfilling the purpose to which the forum was established.

Prince Oluyemisi Adetayo Adeaga gave this remark during the reception ceremony organized by the 2022 Ibadan Cultural Festival Week Committee to celebrate Alhaji Abiola Alli as he resumes Office as the New President of Omo Ajorosun Club Ibadan.

The event which held at Ibadan House, Oke-Aremo had in attendance a former President of Omo Ajorosun Club, who’s also the Ekefa Balogun Olubadan of Ibadan land, Chief Sarafadeen Alli as the Chairman of the occasion.

The Ekefa Balogun Olubadan of Ibadan land, Chief Sarafadeen Alli while giving his remark, also recognized the activities of Ibadan Prime Youth Forum in the last few weeks and affirmed his readiness to be associated with the Forum. In his words, he reiterated that with the activities of the Forum which he has heard and seen, the future of CCII and Ibadan land is very bright.

In his reaction, the National Coordinator of the Ibadan Prime Youths Forum (IPYF also known as the CCII Youth wing), Dr Oluwatunmise Adeagbo expressed his joy and gratitude to God for bringing the youths of Ibadan together for quality development at this time.

He said ‘I was moved to tears when the the CCII President General and Chief Sarafadeen Alli, the Ekefa Balogun of Ibadanland recognized our effort at IPYF aimed at contributing our own quota to the development of Ibadan land, during their speeches today, I thank God for this. Also, I appreciate all the executives and members of the Ibadan Prime Youth Forum for working as a team to achieve this laudable feat.’

Dr ‘Tunmise Adeagbo advised IPYF members to continue to work as a team. He encouraged that they must always come to term after any form of disagreement. Also, he promised the CCII Leadership and Ibadanland of continued effort towards making Ibadan a better place.

Dignitaries present at the occasion were Mr Adeola Oloko representing the Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Saliu Akanmu Aje Ogungunnuso I, all the CCII Executives members, Iyaloja of Ibadanland Chief Mrs Iswat Ameringun, Notable Mogajis from Maye compound, Ibikunle compound, ‘Iba Oluyole compound.

Other dignitaries include the chairman of Ibadan 2022 cultural week festival Balogun Gafar Ojetola, The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the University of Ibadan Mr Olatunji Oladejo, Member and new executive of Omo Ajorosun Club, CCII and IPYF members.

IBADAN CULTURAL FESTIVAL WEEK 2022 UPDATE

The Central Working Committee of Ibadan Cultural Week Headed by Balogun Gafar Ojetola held the 2nd committee meeting on 13th of December, 2021 brainstorm with members of the committee in order to make the cultural week a success.

At the meeting, some crucial decision were made, all of which were targeted at making the cultural festival week remarkable and one of its kind, in the history of Ibadan land.

It should be noted, that the Ibadan week will be celebrated in the month of March at a date to be announced soon. Among other things agreed upon by the committee at the meeting include the arrangement of event shown below.

Among other proposed activities include: Oke Ibadan festival and Local Government parade. Jumat Service and Amala day. Visit to the Olubadan of Ibadan Land and Fuji night. Church Service. Stage play. S .Amole U_18 female football  competitions (Final) and Luncheon. Youth Day. Oreke Beauty Contest (final) and Talent hunt. Education/debate and JBC day. Grand finale. 

Furthermore, the committee proposed some other innovation, one of which is the introduction of Trade fair/ Exhibition to allow business owners to showcase their goods and products between day 7 &9 of the programme, also, there was a decision reached by all members to honor all Past President General during the Grand Finale.

IBADAN CULTURAL FESTIVAL WEEK 2022 PLANNING COMMITTEE INAUGURAL MEETING

On Monday, 6th of December, 2021 The President- General of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga hosted the Inaugural Meeting of the Ibadan Cultural Festival Week 2022 Committee at the Ibadan Week Conference Room, Ibadan House, Oke-Aremo.

In attendance were members of the committee headed by the Chairman, Balogun Gaphar Ojetola.

Furthermore, the Committee executives include Vice Chairman, Alhaja Simiat Larodo, the Secretary, Mr. Jide Iyanda and Assistant Secretary, Mr. Kola Olomide.

At the occasion, the PG emphasized the need for a united front to actualize the goals set before the committee.

The significance of the next Ibadan cultural week is that, it will be celebrated with Oke’Badan Festival.

Also in attendance to give the 2022 celebration a Booster are two past Chairmen of the Festival, Princess Olaide Salawu and Alhaji Abiola Ali amongst other important dignitaries.

IBADAN YOUTH SUMMIT: Start Learning Vocational Skills – Stakeholders Advice Nigerian Youth On Unemployment

Yesterday, the Ibadan Prime Youth Forum(IPYF), the youth wing of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII, had her first edition of Ibadan Youth Summit tagged: The Burden of Youth Unemployment, whose fault?, Sustainable Intervention and Solutions.

The event featured youths of Ibadanland and friends of the city coming together to participate and contribute to the many issues bothering youthful youthfulness in Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole, with trade exhibition, speeches, panel sessions, questions and answers, and skill acquisition admittance for participants.

In attendance were notable people of Ibadan extraction, which includes the President-General of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga and his cabinet members, Professor Allan Femi Lana, son of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Odulana Odugade, among others.

While declaring the summit open, the wife of the President-General of CCII, Princess (Mrs.) Oluyemisi Adeaga congratulates the organizers for their initiative in putting up this youth engagement event together.

In his Opening speech, CCII President-General, Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga also commended the Forum and reiterate his commitment of the leadership of CCII which he head to the development and advancement of Ibadan Youth.

He further encourages the youths to engage in more meaningful things that will serve as catalyst to their development.

The National Coordinator of the Forum, Dr. Oluwatunmise Adeagbo in his remarks said; “the purpose of the Summit is to address the issue of unemployment and proffer practicable solutions.

“Unemployment is a global concern among developing countries, and forcing them facing acute unemployment in the formal and informal labour markets. Nigeria, with the largest youth population in Africa, is no exception” he said.

He further stated that; “practical solutions that will be work upon will be drawn from submission from discussants who will be speaking on the topic.”

“At the end of today, we hope to provide recommendations to address the immediate and longer-term aspects of the youth unemployment challenge in Nigeria; especially as it concerns Ibadan youths”

“Nigeria ranked 158th out of 183 countries in the domain of employment and opportunities. One unique feature of the economic growth problem in Nigeria is its inability to create more jobs. Considering the growing youth population, estimated to reach 150 million by 2030, this is a significant concern” he concluded.

Discussants at the first panel session includes: Asiwaju Azeez Olasunkande, the group head, HR Resort International Limited, Ambassador Romoke Ayinde, CEO Kayrom Lee, Titilope Gbadamosi Adebayo, Former SSA community relations, Oyo state, Hon. Bolaji Repete, ably represented by former S.A on Students’ Matter to Late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Mrs. Fatima Hassan-Adeleke and Mrs Steve Ogundipo Olayinka the representative of the State Coordinator of National Directorate of Employment.

In their words, they encouraged the youths to take charge of their lives, hunt for opportunities in their various field.

They further admonished Nigerian youth, who are graduates and undergraduates to start learning skills, either soft skills and other vocational skills, that will put them at the center of job creation and employer of labour.

The NDE representatives also uses the medium to inform participants on how to benefits from free skills acquisition put in place by the Government, while it was also confirmed that the leadership of the Ibadan Prime Youth Forum are working on linking participants who attended the programme and indicated interest in learning vocational skills to the agency and other partners of the events.

During the second session, Discussants shared their success stories, and how the youths can getting started.

Mrs. Adejoke Lasisi further enlightened the youths on many opportunities open for their consumption.

Other discussants includes Mr. Wale Oladiti, CEO Weeldrop Petroleum, Dr. Wole Odetayo represented by Mr Isreal Raphael and Mrs Damilola Ashaleye, CEO Ashdam Solar, they all gave insight on how they started their businesses, the challenges and how they were able to overcome the challenges.

In a bid to address the prevailing unemployment problem among the Nigeria youths, the Ibadan Prime Youths Forum (IPYF), a youth wing of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has concluded plan to host youth-concern experts and stakeholders to get all hands on the desk in addressing the identifiable problems facing Nigerian youths.

The summit which centered on the burden of youth unemployment in Nigeria, the sustainable interventions and solutions is coming up on Thursday, 2nd December, 2021 at Bode Amao Hall, Ibadan House, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan.

Expected to speak at the sessions of the summit are; Gov. Seyi Makinde (Executive Governor of Oyo State), Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, Chief Mrs. Amidat Ololade Agboola (Oyo State Head of Service), Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Seun Fakorede, APC Deputy National Youth Leaders, Hon. Bolaji Afeez Repete and former adviser to late Gov. Abiola Ajimobi, Titilope Gbadamosi.

Others are Mr. Asiwaju Azeez Olasunkade, Mr. Olayemi Olayinka, Mr. Bayo Musa, Mr. Wale Oladiti (CEO, WeelDrop), Damilola Asaleye, Adejoke Lasisi, and Oluwole Odetayo.

IPYF Appreciates CCII For The Award of Promising Ibadan Youth Presented to Their National Coordinator and Five Other Youths.

The distinguished youths under the auspices of Ibadan Prime Youths Forum appreciates the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes under the leadership of Prince Oluyemisi Adetayo Adeaga for being more youth friendly and for honouring its National Coordinator —Dr. Oluwatunmise Victor Adeagbo as a Promising Ibadan Youth.

In his Presidential speech at the Inauguration Ceremony on Saturday, Prince Oluyemisi Adetayo Adeaga declared that his administration will invest more in youth development as that is the only way to secure enviable future for Ibadan Land. He emphasized the saying by honouring six youths as Promising Ibadan Youths.

Talking to the correspondent of Oduduwa News at the event, IPYF through its Secretary appreciated the entire leadership of CCII for co-opting more worthy and well-meaning youths in various activities of the Council. The forum joyfully appreciate the honour done on its National Coordinator —Dr. Oluwatunmise Victor Adeagbo who was one of the six awarded youths, that the honour done on those distinguished youths will encourage more youth participation in CCII activities.

The forum described the new PG as a round peg in round hole and prayed to God Almighty to grant him and his team the wherewithal to actualize their dreams and move Ibadan to greater heights.

Also, the forum ceased the opportunity to congratulate the President-General —Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga and other members of the National Executive Council once again, and wished them a successfully productive tenure.

CCII Youths Laud Governor Oluseyi Makinde For Making Giant Developmental Strides.

Ibadan Prime Youths Forum which is the Youth Annex of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes has appreciated His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde for his investment in Youth development in the State, most especially Ibadan land.

The Governor, during his speech presentation at the inauguration ceremony of CCII promised a 10million Naira scholarship scheme for Ibadan Indigenes. He also promised to complete the new Olubadan Palace.

Among the promises made by the Governor is the completion of 75km out of the over 100km Ibadan Circular Road, willingness to complete the Iwo Road and Challenge Bus Terminals as all these projects and will contribute to the development of Ibadan.

In his reaction, the IPYF President who is also a CCII awardee, Dr Oluwatunmise Adeagbo appreciated the Governor for all his developmental project for Oyo State and Ibadanland.No

Dr Tunmise Adeagbo emphasized that Oyo State government led by His excellency Governor Seyi Makinde has devised a lot of program that will positively engage the Youths of Ibadan land. A #10 Million scholarship scheme for youths of Ibadan descent through CCII is a good step in the right direction as this will ease the financial burden of the prospective beneficiaries in time like this when many students are finding it difficult to meet basic needs.

‘We are ready to mobilize youths of Ibadanland to key into the various youth empowerment program in the state’, the Youth leader reiterated.

The IPYF President said “Governor Seyi Makinde’s promise as regards the completion of Olubadan Palace has proved once again that he is a true son of the soil that wants the best for the city. We are proud of the Governor, and we are glad to associate with him. We assured your administration of the continuous support of the Youths of Ibadan land.

Ibadan Prime Youths Forum (IPYF) appreciate CCII as President-General Appoints Member As Executive Assistant.

The President General of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, the next in hierarchy to Olubadan in Council and highest Indigenous socio-cultural group in Ibadan land, Chief Oluyemisi Adeaga has appointed a member of the youth annex of CCII – Ibadan Prime Youths Forum, Aare Oyeniyi Oyekunle as his Executive Assistant.

The leadership and members of Ibadan Prime Youths Forum (IPYF) appreciates the President General for appointing one of us for this sensitive position, and we can’t but show our sense of appreciation for this kind gesture.

At IPYF, we see this appointment as a timely one, and a well deserved one for Aare Oyeniyi, we have no doubt in his capacity and believe that he will deliver beyond our expectation. This is one of the fulfilment of the promise made by the new administration of CCII to encourage youth participation in CCII. This ample opportunity will bring the youths of Ibadan closer to the leadership of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII).

Aare Oyeniyi Oyekunle been an Agribusiness and Development Communication expert, he is a result driven individual with valuable experience in both corporate and government establishments. He had his first degree at the University of Ilorin, where he was the President of the Federation of Ibadan Students Union (FIBSU, UNILORIN), and later obtained Masters degree in Agriculture and Development Communication from the University of Ibadan.

Oyeniyi has worked as an Assistant on Communication and Policy Research at the Office of the Special Adviser to Oyo State Governor on Agriculture, and also as a Research Intern in International Development at the Data Research Institute, obtained a certification in Diplomacy from Open University, UK, among others. Oyeniyi Oyekunle is also a freelance writer and business intelligence analyst.
