Abiodun, who chairs the Nigeria Governors’ Forum Committee on State Police, made the declaration during a town hall meeting on the 2027 budget and Medium-Term Expenditure Framework for Remo Division, held at the Akarigbo Palace in Sagamu.
The governor said the state’s expanding industrial and commercial activities required a stronger security framework to protect businesses, residents and investors.

He disclosed that the Ogun State Security Network, popularly known as Amotekun, and the So-Safe Corps currently have a combined strength of about 6,000 personnel.
Abiodun also announced the commencement of a cash transfer programme for vulnerable residents affected by rising food and transportation costs. He further promised boreholes in all 236 wards, alongside the provision of transformers and solar-powered streetlights.
