The aunty of late musician Ileriouluwa Oladimeji Aloba, professionally known as Mohbad, has chastised his widow wife.
Since his death, many have pointed accusing fingers at his widow’s wife for supposedly murdering the singer.
In a video that has gone viral, Mohbad’s mother’s sister questions why there were clothing soaked in blood when the singer died.
She claimed to have visited their home and seen the blood-soaked garments, which perplexed her.
She swore that if Omowunmi had any role in the singer’s death, she would not get off lightly, and she cursed her.
“Wunmi do you want to tell me that Mohbad’s dad is lying against you? When I got to your house after MohBad d!ed, I saw many clothes that were soaked in blod. I was so surprised, I had to ask my sister why is there so much blood on these clothes. Nobody asked you anything. If you know about Mohbad’s deah, you will never go scot-free. God will use the blood relationship between me and Mohbad to punish you. I have so many things I want to say but I am still holding on. You will not escape it”, she said in her dialect,
Justice John Inyang Okoro, made the pronouncement in a lead judgment on the appeal by former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; and that of the candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, seeking to nullify the February 25, presidential election of President Bola Tinubu.
Justice Inyang Okoro also dismissed the issue of the 25% requirement for Abuja, as a none issue.
The Department of State Services (DSS) has released a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa,
Bawa has been in custody since June when President Bola Tinubu suspended him. Willie Bassey, Director of Information at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, had said Bawa was suspended as a result of weighty allegations of abuse of office levelled against him.
Former governor of Zamfara State and Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, had accused Bawa of demanding $2 million bribe from him, an allegation which he denied. Bassey had said suspension was to allow for proper investigation into his conduct while in office.
Peter Afunanya, DSS spokesman, said Bawa was released on Wednesday. “DSS confirms release of former EFCC chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, a few hours ago (today 25th October, 2023)”
A video of Bawa being welcomed by his wives and children has since gone viral. Daily Trust reports that top former and serving government functionaries had pleaded with the President to order DSS to release Bawa.
Another source told Daily Trust that Bawa was released after the secret police concluded their investigations with him. It would be recalled that Bawa’s house and office in the nation’s capital were earlier ransacked by the operatives of DSS after which he also celebrated his last Eid-el-kabir in the secret police net.
A cleric based in Ekiti State, Prophet Adegoke Jeremiah, aka Billion Dollars Prophet, has demanded N20 million from Damilola Adeparusi, better known as Chef Dammy, for defamation of character.
Chef Dammy had called Jeremiah out via her Instagram page over claims of harassment.
She claimed Jeremiah had continued to threaten and bully her for months following her cook-a-thon in June 2023.
In the letter dated October 23, 2023, Jeremiah, via his lawyers, Busayo Sule & Co. Legal Practitioners, demanded a retraction of the ‘libelous’ statement made by Chef Dammy on social media and payment of a sum of N20 million for damages.
The letter partly read, “In view of the incalculable damage you have done to the good reputation of our client, we demand a retraction of the libelous statement on all the social media, particularly your Instagram page, and two (2) widely read national dailies.
“Additionally, we are demanding a sum of (Twenty Million Naira Only) N20,000,000:00 being Damages for the act of Defamation against our client.
“Take notice that you have seven (7) days from the date of service of this letter on you, the date of service inclusive, to comply with our demand. Failure of which we shall not hesitate to seek a redress in the court of law.”
Our correspondent spoke with a representative of Busayo Sule & Co. Legal Practitioners, Ezekiel Oluwabusayo, who confirmed the authenticity of the document circulating online.
However, he added that the document was never meant to be released on social media.
Oluwabusayo stated, ‘It was supposed to be a private document. Who released it online? I also spoke to her (Chef Dammy), asking how the letter surfaced online.
“We served her the letter on the premise that she should retract the libelous statement she made on her Instagram page last week, that’s all.
“We wrote a letter to her, but it’s not meant for public consumption. We asked her to retract the statement she made within seven days. We are yet to commence the lawsuit against her. We may start the case after seven or fourteen days.
“Yes, the letter was from our chambers, but it was not meant for public consumption.”

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised the judgment delivered by Judge Robin Knowles of the Business and Property Court in London on Monday, which marked a significant victory for the Federal Government of Nigeria in a case involving Process & Industry Development (P&ID) Limited.
The court dismissed the $11.5 billion (USD) award plus accumulated interest previously granted to P&ID over a failed 2010 deal to construct a gas processing plant. The ruling was based on the finding that the award was obtained through fraud.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu commended the UK Court for prioritizing the case’s merits above all other factors.
“This groundbreaking judgment unequivocally demonstrates that sovereign nations will no longer be manipulated by economic conspiracies between private companies and corrupt officials who collude to exploit and indebt the very countries they pledge to defend and safeguard,” the President remarked.
He emphasized that the victory was not only for Nigeria but also for the entire continent and the developing world, which has long been subjected to unfair economic practices and blatant exploitation.

The 200 level students of the Faculty of Agriculture and Renewable Natural Resources of the LAUTECH Iseyin Campus have resumed today 23rd of October, 2023 as directed by Oyo State Government.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rom Kamil and other members of the school governing board were also in the campus to receive the students as they resume.
Some students were seen receiving lecture from their lecturer.
Meanwhile, certain percentage of the students attended the lectures while others confirmed said to have mobilized themselves in Ibadan to protest in defiance to the order of the Management that all the 200 level students of the Faculty of Agriculture and Renewable Natural Resources should resume.
According to ODUDUWA NEWS correspondent who monitored the event, some students were seen at the school premises receiving lectures. Some who spoke to newsmen expressed their joy over the warm reception given to them by the community.
The defiant students who mobilized themselves to the Nigerian Television Authority NTA gathered in their number carrying placards with various inscriptions to register their displeasure on the order given to them to resume at LAUTECH Iseyin Campus.
The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has asked the Federal High Court in Lagos to stop the House of Representatives from procuring and taking delivery of N57.6bn 360 sports utility vehicles (SUVs) for its members, pending the hearing and determination of the applications for injunction filed by the organization. SERAP’s applications for interim and interlocutory injunction followed reports that the lawmakers are set to procure and take delivery of N57.6 billion SUVs.
Naija News reports that each of the SUVs would cost taxpayers at least N160 million.
In the applications filed last week, SERAP is seeking “an order of interim injunction restraining the National Assembly from procuring, taking delivery and distributing the SUVs to their members, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice for an order of interlocutory injunction filed simultaneously in this suit.”
SERAP is also seeking such further order(s) that the Honourable Court may deem fit to make in the circumstance of this suit.
Recall that SERAP in August filed the suit number FHC/L/CS/1606/2023 before the Federal High Court challenging “the legality of the spending of billions of naira by the National Assembly to purchase exotic and bulletproof cars for members and principal officials.”
SERAP also sent an open letter to President Bola Tinubu urging him to put pressure on the leadership of the House of Representatives and stop members from taking delivery of 360 sports utility vehicles (SUVs), pending the hearing and determination of the application for interim injunction.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Salihu Adelabu gave the warning on Friday, while speaking with Journalists in his Office.
Prof Adelabu, who described the act as illegal, reiterated that the Oyo state government policy on Education is free from primary to secondary level in all public schools across the state.
He urged parents and guardians not to pay any fee to principals or teachers, but report anyone who might request or ask them for payment at the ministry.
The Commissioner, therefore, hinted that any principal or teacher found guilty will be seriously dealt with.
According to him, “before school resumes, We had a stakeholders meeting, where we warned all our teachers to desist from illegal collection of fees.
“Because in Oyo state, the school is free, Education is free in Oyo state; from the basic to secondary schools.
“As regards the collection of illegal fees, we cannot run away from bad eggs among our teachers, we have been hearing this rumor, I call it a rumor because we have been hunting for school principals and teachers that are collecting levies from our students.
“In fact, some Zonal Inspectorate Education Officers, (ZIE), our PS; inspector General of Education have been disguising in schools with money to pay such illegal fees when there is a red flag that; in this school, they are collecting illegal fee, I think I can mention two or three of such.
“There was a radio programme some time ago that they were collecting illegal fees in one of the secondary schools in Iseyin, They tagged the fee as ‘IFINKO’, so we quickly called the PS, IGE in charge of that zone. He conducted a search, and he discovered that nothing of such happened.
“There was another incident in IDO, we were trying to at least get one or two as a scapegoat, until now, we are unable to get a result.
“We are not resting on our oars because we have stumbled on one, and we are seriously working to unravel the truth of the matter, if we can get it, if that information is correct, that particular teacher will definitely be queried and is going to face the panel, so, all our teachers should be very careful.
“To the parents, they should know that education is free in Oyo state, no school, no head of school should demand a dime.
“They should not pay them, when such happened they should, please contact the Ministry of Education in Oyo state. If they cannot come over, we have all our LIEs (Local inspector of Education, we have our PS: Inspector General of Education.
“They should please contact them, and they should let us know.
“We have been carrying out what I called sting operation, we are going to schools to find out what type of fee or levy they are collecting from students.
“We’ve not been able to get so much of them, but In the public domain, we are hearing rumors, we are receiving WhatsApp messages, but we have not been able to at least get one or two of them.
“We are still looking for them, you too can help us, if you know of any school, just get in touch with us.”
