A P.O.S. operator is left in pain as N75K cash mysteriously transforms to paper after completing a transaction for a customer.
A video making the rounds on social media captured the moment onlookers gathered to console a businesswoman who made a loss of N75K.
According to the P.O.S. operator, she collected and counted the money from a customer who requested that the amount is transfered to a certain account.
Unfortunately, following the customer’s departure, the money allegedly changed to newspaper shreeds; leaving the women in tears.
The voice in the bakground said, “Help us, this number came to withdraw from this woman and after the transfer. After some minutes, the money had changed to paper.”
Traders in Sagamu, Ogun State, on Wednesday protested over what they termed a ceaseless hike in the price of fish.
The fish sellers who stormed Sagamu streets expressed their frustration that the skyrocketing prices have adversely affected their business.
The traders, carrying placards and singing solidarity songs, marched through Makun market and later stormed the palace of the Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, to register their displeasure.
According to the fish sellers from various markets in Sagamu, the skyrocketing prices of fish have affected their business, as customers blame them for the arbitrary increase.
They demanded immediate action to alleviate the economic hardship in Sagamu and other parts of the state.
The duo of Oyo State Chapter of Nigeria Labour Congress NLC and Trade Union Congress have directed workers to pack their personal belongings from offices as from Friday while they finalize decision to commence strike action on Monday through a congressional resolution.

“Joint press statement Issued by the Oyo State Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC)
We bring warm Fraternal greetings to Workers and Pensioners in Oyo State from the Leadership of both NLC & TUC. Arising from the joint SAC & SEC meeting of the two Labour Centers held today Thursday 2nd November 2023, the following decision were taken.
(1) We, the Oyo State Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), stand united and strongly condemn in totality the recent attack on the National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress by the Nigerian Police in Imo State on Wednesday 2nd November 2023 by the hopeless Government of Hope Uzodinma and police Force .We view this egregious incident as an affront to the fundamental rights and liberties of the Nigerian labour force, and an alarming manifestation of the tyrannical tendencies displayed by some State Governments towards the labour movement.
It is evident that the principles of social justice and the rights of workers are being disregarded in some quarters. We strongly assert that the Labour movement is a vital pillar of our democracy and must be allowed to function without fear of harassment or intimidation.
In conclusion, we, the Oyo State NLC and TUC, wish to make it clear that we will not take this attack on the National President of the NLC or any Labour Leader lightly. We stand resolute in our commitment to defending the rights and welfare of workers in Oyo State and throughout Nigeria. We call upon the labor community, civil society organizations, and all well-meaning Nigerians to join us in condemning this act and demanding justice, only Constructive Negotiations that would lead to Agreements and implementation can lead to Good Governance.
Our struggle for workers’ rights and social justice will not be deterred by acts of tyranny. Together, we shall prevail in our pursuit of a just and equitable society, where the rights and dignity of all workers are upheld and protected. The Economic Financial Crimes Commission last night released 58 out of 69 students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, arrested earlier on Wednesday, November 1. had earlier reported that operatives of the anti-graft agency carried out a sting operation and arrested no fewer than 70 students of the university.
The officials stormed the Fine Touch and Superb hostels in Oduduwa Estate, Ile-Ife, at about 2am, broke into rooms, and arrested the students.
Statement released by the agency claimed that they were arrested following actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in fraudulent internet-related activities. The agency claimed credible intelligence linked Oduduwa Estate with activities of suspected internet fraudsters.
The statement mentioned that items recovered include exotic cars, 190 mobile phones and 40 laptops among others.
Later in the night, 58 of the arrested students were released.
Gunshots rented the air at the office of Economic Financial Crime Commission(EFCC), Ibadan, Oyo State, on Wednesday after students of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) stormed the office in protest against the arrest of 70 of their colleagues.
The students were seen carrying placards with several inscriptions, including “My security as a student should be a priority”; “EFCC stop illegal activities”; “We are students not a criminal”; “FreeOAUstudents,” among others.
The students chanted anti-government songs and also demanded for the immediate release of their colleagues unconditionally.
However, while the students were protesting, masked operatives of EFCC started shooting into the air to scare the protesters away.
The Chairman of the National Association of University Students, Osun Campus committee, Yinka Popoola, told journalists:, “they were shooting sporadically in the air to scare us away. It is a show of shame. They did the same a few days ago at the College of Forestry. We are demanding for unconditional release of all the students that were arrested.”
The Ogun State government-owned So-Safe Corps, on Monday, admitted killing a pastor, Adeniyi Adisa, in a shoot-out with suspected kidnappers on July 1, 2023.
Some gunmen had reportedly stormed a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) at Abule-Ori in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state, where they killed a pastor and abducted seven worshippers.
The Commander of the Ogun State So-Safe Corps, Soji Ganzallo, while confirming the incident, said his officers later rescued the seven church members and killed one of the kidnappers during the operation.
But three months after the incident, Ganzallo admitted that Adisa was also kidnapped at a different location by the gang of hoodlums who attacked the Redeemed Church.
Adisa, a pastor in charge of Latter Rain Revival Christian Church, Olaogun, Ibadan, Oyo State, was said to have been kidnapped on June 24 while returning from a visit to a friend in the Yotomi area, Owode Egba in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Ganzallo cleared the air while addressing newsmen on the controversy at the Corps’ head office in Abeokuta, alongside the family members of the slain pastor.
Ganzallo said “It will be recalled that on July 1st, our officers responding to a distress call at Abule-Ori community in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state moved in and were able to rescue seven church members earlier kidnapped in a church. That same night, the Corps decided to trail the kidnappers and it was during the operation when the officers engaged in a shoot-out with the kidnappers that the unintended event happened.
“It was really an unfortunate situation, a very sad one that none of us is happy about. After this incident, So Safe issued a release to the members of the public that several kidnapped church members were rescued while one of the kidnappers was gunned down while others escaped with bullet wounds.
“We however later got to know in the course of our investigation that the suspect killed was not a kidnapper but Pastor Adeniyi Adisa of Oke Oluokun, Ibadan, Oyo State who had earlier been kidnapped by the kidnappers and probably brought along to be freed after collecting the ransom before going for their next operation.”
Three persons died on Tuesday while two sustained serious injuries in a road accident along the Itamaga-Ijede road in Ikorodu, near Lagos.
The accident which occurred at about 8:05 am involved a Toyota Camry car and a tricycle.
The car, which was on high speed, crossed the other side of the road and rammed into the tricycle, killing three passengers – one adult and two school children on the spot.
One of the injured, a secondary school student, who relapsed into coma was rushed to hospital along with the tricycle driver for medical attention.
The driver of the Camry car, however, took to his heels immediately after the incident.
A witness at the scene of the incident, said that the car was heading toward Ijede, a community in Ikorodu and was on top speed, making it impossible for the driver to control the vehicle before it rammed into the tricycle, which was heading to Ikorodu Garage.
The crash occurred near Cele Bus-Stop at Ijede in the Ijede Local Council Development Area.
It was learnt that police operatives later came to the scene of the accident and towed the tricycle and the car to the police station in Ijede.
The residents of Ariyibi/Ajibode axis have lamented poor state of the road linking the area to Ajibode/UI axis, Ibadan.
Recall, ODUDUWA NEWS had reported how many community roads in Oyo State have been in the dilapidated state calling the attention of the State government for rehabilitation.
A tricycle rider who spoke today with ODUDUWA NEWS correspondent under the condition of annonymity, decried the poor condition of the road. He claimed that motorists find it difficult to ply the road as most of their cars and motorcycles get damaged and often taken to the mechanic workshops everytime.
A motorist, Abdulateef Olamide in his words, said, “we are begging Gov Makinde to come to our aide because the road is no longer motorable”.
He lamented poor state of the road especially at the time people have taken the route as alternate access to their various destinations to poor condition of intra community roads.
The residents of the area who spoke with ODUDUWA NEWS all lamented the effect of the bad road on their economic activities. Some of the residents spoke on how their goods felt spoilt on the road while going to their various shops.
“We are appealing to State Govt to come to our aide as the road has been badly damaged, many people find it difficult to get to their shops on time and when they close they get home late hours especially when it rains”, concluded Mr. Olapade.
A Man Identified as Wasiu Oyekan has beaten one of his neighbours to death over N4,500 in Ogun State.
ODUDUWA NEWS reports that the neighbour, Ibrahim Lateef, died on Sunday when the suspect allegedly punched him in the neck and he fell, hitting his head against the ground.
The incident happened around Kobiti Central Mosque, Kobiti, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The said Wasiu Oyekan of Ile-Elewe Family in Kobiti was reported to have accused the deceased’s son and one other boy of spoiling his PS video game while playing same sometimes in August.
Oyekan had demanded a sum of N9,000 to repair the game, out of which the boy’s 50-year-old father gave him N4,500, with a promise to pay the balance later.
The delay in paying the N4,500 balance prompted Oyekan to drag the deceased’s son to the police station on Sunday.
“When his father returned home and discovered that Wasiu had taken his son to the police station, he went straight to him and while he was trying to ask why Wasiu took his son to the police station, he attacked him with a blow in his neck. Lateef fell down immediately, and his head hit the ground. He started bleeding from his nose and ears. He eventually died,” an eyewitness said.
The eyewitness, who did not want her name in print, said the suspect is presently at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Police Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Lateef, also known as Tijuuku, is reportedly survived by his mother, a wife, who is nursing a two-month-old baby girl, his other children and younger siblings.
It was gathered that the victim’s aged mother fainted when she received the news of her son’s death.
Contacted, the Ogun State Police Command confirmed the incident to our correspondent.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, referred our correspondent to the Divisional Police Officer of Oke-Itoku, CSP Hadiza Abu Oganyi, under whose jurisdiction the incident happened.
The DPO confirmed the incident, saying she had transferred the case to the force headquarters the day it happened.
According to her, the deceased went to fight Oyekan for reporting his child at the police station, saying that was the beginning of the incident.
The DPO said she would forward other details to the PPRO as she is not allowed to talk to the press.
The aunty of late musician Ileriouluwa Oladimeji Aloba, professionally known as Mohbad, has chastised his widow wife.
Since his death, many have pointed accusing fingers at his widow’s wife for supposedly murdering the singer.
In a video that has gone viral, Mohbad’s mother’s sister questions why there were clothing soaked in blood when the singer died.
She claimed to have visited their home and seen the blood-soaked garments, which perplexed her.
She swore that if Omowunmi had any role in the singer’s death, she would not get off lightly, and she cursed her.
“Wunmi do you want to tell me that Mohbad’s dad is lying against you? When I got to your house after MohBad d!ed, I saw many clothes that were soaked in blod. I was so surprised, I had to ask my sister why is there so much blood on these clothes. Nobody asked you anything. If you know about Mohbad’s deah, you will never go scot-free. God will use the blood relationship between me and Mohbad to punish you. I have so many things I want to say but I am still holding on. You will not escape it”, she said in her dialect,
