The hullabaloo on which zone will likely produce president might have prompted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to have recently concluded the zoning of National Chairmanship Slot to the North.
This development may pave way for the South to produce the presidential aspirant of the party as the National Chairman is emerged from the northern region of the country.
This decision was announced today by the partyโs National Zoning Committee.
The decision was contained in a communique issued on Thursday following the meetings of the committee held in Enugu and Abuja.
โThe decision of the PDP Zoning Committee is in line with the Constitution of the party on zoning and rotation of party and national offices in the interest of justice, equity, and fairness,โ the statement read.
โConsequently, the current offices being held by officers in the southern zones of the country, namely South West, South East, and South South zones, should swap places with the offices currently in the northern zones of Nigeria, namely North West, North East, and North Central zones.โ
