Governor Seyi Makinde today visited Iseyin on condolence visits in respect of Late Monarch HRM Oba Dr Abdul-Ganiyu Salaudeen Adekunle Ologunebi Ajinese I.
Makinde in his condolence message described late Monarch as a close friend, partner in progress, lover of Iseyin development and a monarch who always dedicated what he had for the development of the town.
The governor pledged to prioritize Iseyin town in infrastructural development, and most especially Oke-Ogun region and Oyo State as a whole.

A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Omooba Dotun Babayemi , has raised the alarm that some people are after his life because of his efforts at seeking redress at the court of law.
Babayemi who is currently seeking to get justice as regards the controversy surrounding who the authentic gubernatorial candidate of the party is in the state, wondered why politics could be taken to such despicable level.
In a save-my-soul message issued by his Media Office on Wednesday and made available to journalists, he admonished that politics should be played without coercion or harassments.
“Before and after the July 16 governorship election in Osun, I have received a number of voice notes;some laced with vituperation and different insults being hauled at me while some are outright threat to my life. I can’t fathom why some people have chosen this dangerous and uncivilized lane” he said.
Babayemi who warned those behind such unholy acts to desist, maintained that he would never be cowed in his resolve at seeking justice at any level of opportunity offered by legal entitlements.
“Those sending threatening voice notes and their sponsors have failed. No matter how, the course of justice can not be circumvented through such crude means. Besides, nobody can intimidate me” he maintained
While assuring that he was already doing the needful in intimating relevant security agencies with the development, Babayemi implored his supporters, stakeholders and party members across the state to continue to be law-abiding.
The Western Security Outfit Amotekun in Oyo state has intercepted a truck containing not less than 150 travelers and some items.
It was gathered that the truck which was heading to Ogere in Ogun state from Zamfara was intercepted around Bodija market in Ibadan after suspicious observers raised an alarm and alerted relevant security agencies.
The Oyo state Amotekun who quickly intervened brought the truck to its base, where it did a thorough search and found some food items and luggage belonging to the travelers.
The Special Assistant to Oyo state Governor on Arewa Ahmed Murtala confirmed that the persons were just mere travelers who were on their way to Ogun state.
Ahmed who revealed that the travelers would be sent back to their states assured Residents in the state that the state Government would continue to prioritise the security of lives and property in the state.
The truck had on transit, one hundred and thirty four males and six females as about ten of them were said to have escaped into the market
An Islamic human rights organisation, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has accused the Lagos State Ministry of Education of inserting Bible knowledge questions in the 2022 entrance examination for Lagos State public schools. The group alleged that the development gave Christian candidates an edge over their Muslim counterparts and put Muslim candidates at great disadvantage as they are certain to miss those questions.
This was disclosed in a press statement issued on Tuesday 2nd August, 2022 by the group’s director, Professor Ishaq Akintola.
The statement reads:
“Our office has been inundated by reports of strange questions in a general paper set for the Lagos State Primary Six Placement Test Into JSS 1 in Lagos secondary schools held on Saturday, 23rd July, 2022. The reference number on the question paper was LSA/PT/2022.
“Although the paper was captioned English Studies/Verbal Reasoning/General Paper, specifically, questions 12 and 14 were straight from the Bible and only Christian candidates could have made head or tail of them. These two questions were designed for Muslims to fail.
The questions were designed to upset Muslim students and make them lose confidence in themselves thereby leading to confusion, frustration and ultimate failure. The caption of that paper should have been ‘Common Entrance in Lagos State…Muslims Come and Fail’.
“Question number 12 which is an objective, says, ‘Paul was born in a city called …Tarsus…Jerusalem…Jordan…Bethel. Candidates were expected to pick one of the four options. But how on earth is a Muslim candidate expected to know what to pick? Ditto for question number 14 which reads ‘The English Bible was translated into Yoruba language by …Pastor Joseph Ayo Babalola…Bishop Benson Idahosa…Pastor Enoch Adeboye … Bishop Ajayi Crowther.
“This is parochial, provocative and unacceptable. This is another proof of the Christianisation of the education sector in Lagos State. How can anyone defend this? It is scandalous. Who set these obnoxious questions? Who proofread and supervised the examination? Who approved the questions? It is clear that this is the handiwork of religious bigots, but then somebody is guilty of gross negligence. Heads must roll.
“We knew this was going to happen when all the six tutor generals in the state are Christians and the state government refused to listen to appeals from Muslims to stop its exclusivism. We had three Christians and three Muslims in the days of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Raji Fashola. Muslims were removed under Ambode and the incumbent has refused to listen to complaints from the Muslim Community.
“The Muslim candidates have been put on a tight rope because the instruction on top of the question paper says ‘Attempt all questions’. This means that anyone who jumps those two biblical questions does so at his or her own risk. The questions have effectively caged the Muslim students and placed them between Scylla and Charybdis, the horrible six-headed monster in Greek mythology and its fearful whirlpool on the other side.
“Heads must roll over this unless the state government has already given the licence to marginalise, traumatise and dehumanise Muslims in Lagos State to their Christian counterparts. There must be consequences for this gross anomaly unless the state government has sold its Muslim citizens to the bishops and pastors mentioned in question 14 for a pot of porridge.
“Any government that treats its citizens like this cannot expect love and unity among them. Neither can such a government earn the respect and support of the section that it marginalises and treats like outcasts. This attitude does not engender love. Neither does it depict tolerance.
“Lagos Muslims pay tax like their Christian counterparts. Why then are they being relegated to third class citizens. The tax paid by them forms part of the state’s internally generated revenue which is used to pay staff of the Ministry of Education and its teachers, including those who drafted those two offensive questions.
“No attempt was made to balance the trend and thus mitigate the offence by adding two Islamic questions. The paper was therefore a direct assault on Islamdom. The authors are daring Muslim parents and other Muslims in Lagos State to do their worst.
“Therefore, we demand apology from the Ministry of Education. Furthermore, we demand an investigation into circumstances surrounding the inclusion of such sectional, insensitive, repugnant and religiously volatile questions in a general paper.”
Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State that are loyal to former governor of the state and incumbent Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, yesterday, held a protest to demand for the restructuring of the party, following the loss of the party in the July 16, 2022 governorship election.
The APC members, who trooped out in their hundreds in Osogbo, also called for the removal of the state chairman of APC, Gboyega Famodun, accusing him of mismanaging the party and of being culpable in the electoral defeat that Governor Gboyega Oyetola suffered.
According to the protesting members, mostly of The Osun Progressives (TOP), a faction of the party loyal to Aregbesola, the APC under Famodun is a ‘vehicle with flat tyres,’ which cannot deliver victory in the 2023 general elections.
The aggrieved APC members, armed with banners and placards with several inscriptions, converged in Osogbo from across the 30 local councils of the state, urged the dissolution of the party leadership.
Spokesperson of the group, Abosede Oluwaseun, while addressing newsmen and members of the public at different locations, said the party needed to be restructured from unit, ward, local council and state levels for it to be united and formidable ahead of the coming general elections and urged the national leadership of the party to send an independent caretaker committee devoid of any APC from the South-West to oversee the party.
MEANWHILE, Famodun, in a statement by his Media Adviser, Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo, yesterday, condemned the protest, saying that it was wicked, selfish, misplaced and act of mockery for Aregbesola’s loyalists to demonstrate publicly despite working against the emergence of Oyetola in the election.
Famodun insisted that it was inconsiderate for the supporters, who glaringly worked against the success of Oyetola at the polls, to now be canvassing restructuring of the party through a sponsored protest.
He said: “When I heard that the supporters of the immediate past governor of our state, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, were protesting, I thought my memory was playing me false as they cannot insulate themselves from whatever might be the current plight of the APC in Osun State.
“Assuming but not conceding that there are challenges within the party, protesters should be told that they lack moral right to either suggest or effect any likely solution as it is on record that they massively and collectively worked against Oyetola, the APC governorship candidate in the just-concluded election in line with the series of their threat.
“One would have thought that the appropriate place for them to canvass for the restructuring of any party is Senator Ademola Adeleke’s Ede country home whom they voted for with flaunted pride.
“If I may ask, at what point did it occur to you that the political party that you had abandoned for about three years and been working against needs restructuring?
“Did the Adeleke Dynasty not fund your series of campaigns of calumny against Oyetola and the leadership of the party at the Aregbesola Campaign Office where you converge every Thursday with the task of scrambling to outdo one another in lampooning Oyetola’s administration and the leadership of the party?
“It is, however, pertinent to state here that there is a free entry and free exit in any political party, which memberships are bonded by common interests and ideals.
“Since politics is a game of number and the more the merrier; continuous membership of our party is not foreclosed to any genuine member whose interest would not be counter-productive to the interest of our party as you cannot be an outsider and be canvassing for the restructuring of the party.”
Accord has officially announced Oloye Adebayo Adelabu, a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, as its candidate for governor of Oyo State in the 2023 election.
At a ceremony on Wednesday at the Liberty Stadium in Ibadan, the returning officer, Olayemi Olugbenga, confirmed Adelabu as an Accord governorship candidate.
Other commission representatives were taken to the scene by Biodun Amosu, the administrative secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Oyo State.
The decision on Wednesday was made after Ayodele Oyajide, the party’s former candidate for governor, resigned and handed Adelabu his mandate in the presence of the National Chairman of Accord, Mohammed Nalado, the National Secretary, Alhaja Bukola Ajaja, the state Chairman, Ojo Kolade, and other notable party leaders.
Crisis had rocked after Adelabu defected to Accord from the All Progressives Congress after Senator Teslim Folarin won the governorship ticket at the same venue in May.
On his part, Adelabu reiterated that the party will emerge victory in the 2023 elections.
He said,“The change is here. Our coming to Accord is not by accident, it is a divine arrangement. This is the time Accord will produce its first governor in Oyo State.
“We are ready to do everything to make sure we win. We will win the three senatorial polls; 14 House of Representatives seats and 32 House of Assembly seats.
“We need oneness. Adelabu cannot do it alone , we need your support. Work has started from today on and
“The electorate will determine who they want in this election and who they want is the son of Adelabu. Insha Allah come 2023, Adebayo Adelabu will be sworn in as the governor of Oyo State.”
LAUTECH Students have embarked on protest over death of one of them, Opadele Racheal, a 500 level studenta bducted last week and was killed along side an hotelier by kidnappers in Aba, Ogbomoso.
The road linked to Ilorin has been blocked by the students who trooped out to demand justice for the young lady who was murdered by the kidnappers.
It has just been confirmed to ODUDUWA NEWS that Opadele RACHAEL a 500 level Student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, LAUTECH who was kidnapped last week at a hotel in Abaa community has been killed this morning alongside with the hotelier, Mr. Olugbenga Owolabi, the owner of Tana Suites Ogbomoso after the collecting a ransome of Five Million Naira.
In addition, an Okada rider who also took his family member to an unknown location for the ransom payment also perished, leaving his passenger hurt.
The victims were taken last week in the Abaa locality, and the kidnappers demanded 100 million Naira.
According to the Police, eight suspects have been detained in relation to the abduction of Dr. Abdulrasheed Oladoye and the farm manager of Alao Akala.
A family source hinted that after negotiation the family arranged N5m which was taken to the bandit on Tuesday and confirmed by them after which the victims were shot, the person who conveyed the money to them was also shot but he was lucky to escap.

Due to his allegations that a police officer brandished a gun at him for using a designated bus lane, Oseni was trending on social media on Monday.
According to Hundeyin’s report, “Earlier today, Mr. Rufai Oseni appeared in court. He was determined to have broken the Lagos State Transport Law (2018). He was then assessed a fine of 70,000 Naira. After making the payment, he received access to his car.

The vehicle was said to have landed on his head and scattered his brain. His brain was said to have flipped out.
