Following the resolution of the School management and Oyo State Government concerning the movement of 200L students of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences to Iseyin campus, FOGSU LC frowns to this sabotaging act of destabilizing our growing economy in Ogbomoso.
The decision will result to incondusive, emotional and academic instability of the student, staff and other members who may be a victim of the proposed movement and further destabilize the economy of Ogbomoso land amidst other demerits.
Therefore to show our displeasure about the decision and in which we believe our voices must be heard that we’re not satisfy with the so called plan of the management and call for a re-think and re-sit of both the Oyo State Government and University management.
For this reason, Federation of Ogbomoso Student Union Lautech Chapter therefore call for a mass mobilization from all FOGSU LC union members to join to make a peaceful protest together against the resolution.

A yet-to-be-identified middle-aged man this morning crushed four people to death in a road crash that occurred at Ijoka Area of Akure, the Ondo State capital.
An eyewitness said the man was driving along the road and suddenly skidded off its lane to crush the victims who were on commercial motorcycles.
Sympathisers who rushed to the scene to rescue the driver found some fetish items inside the vehicle, raising suspicion that the driver was a “yahoo boy.” The sympathisers who were angered by what they saw in the car, descended on the driver and beat him to a point of comatose.
Shortly after, men of the state police command arrived the scene and took the beaten driver away from the mob.
The Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, has commiserated with President Muhammadu Buhari, the nation’s judiciary and the family of former Justice at the International Court of Justice, The Hague, on the death of the former Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Prince Bola Ajibola, who passed on in the early hours of Sunday.
Describing the death as a big loss to the judiciary, Governor Abiodun said his legacies in the judiciary, philanthropy and the educational development of Nigeria would never be forgotten.
Governor Abiodun, who also commiserated with the Owu Royal Family of the late former Attorney General, his friend, President Olusegun Obasanjo, as well as members of the Baptist Boys’ High School Old Students Association, described the legal icon’s death as saddening, devastating and the end of an era.
This was contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, on Sunday in Abeokuta.
The governor said: “The death of this illustrious son of Ogun State, a celebrated jurist and judicial activist, public intellectual and elder statesman, is a severe blow to all of us who knew him
“Words cannot adequately convey my heartfelt sorrow over Papa’s death, for he was a kind and beautiful soul who spread love to all who encountered him.”
The governor recalled that Prince Ajibola, after serving as President of the Nigerian Bar Association, also served as the nation’s Number One Law officer, Attorney General and Minister of Justice, before he answering the call of higher duties at the International Court of Justice, The Hague.
“He was a jewel of the Law Profession and an accomplished judicial officer of prodigious hue. Baba was a go-getter who delivered on any assignment committed to his hands because of his belief that service should always come first.
“Besides, he was a great religious influencer and philanthropist who established the faith-based Crescent University in his hometown, Abeokuta.
“He not only supported but funded some other altruistic projects and promoted research and scholarship through his establishment of an Islamic co-educational institution, Crescent University, in Nigeria in 2005, and he served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN). He was also the High Commissioner of Nigeria to the United Kingdom from 1999 to 2002”, the statement stated.
The governor, however, urged the Olowu of Owu, Oba (Prof) Saka Matemilola, Otileta VII, the Olowu-in-Council, sons and daughters of the Ajibola lineage and the entire Gbadela Royal Dynasty of Owu to be consoled by the fact that the deceased selflessly and fervently served God and humanity during his impactful life on earth.
“On behalf of the government and people of Ogun State, I commiserate with the immediate family of the deceased on this very huge loss. I also commiserate with President Muhammadu Buhari on the loss which signifies the dwindling class of sages in the country. I condole his bossom friend, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and all alumni of BBHS over the demise of a dependable ally and a loyal schoolmate and the Nigerian Judiciary over the loss of its greatest assets and Benchers. May the Almighty Allah grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement surmised.
Men of Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 43-year-old man, Hassan Yusuf, for allegedly setting the apartment of his ex-lover, Busayo Falola, ablaze.
The suspect reportedly burnt down the whole building situated at no 127, old Schorlar Palace Igan road Ago-Iwoye in the Ijebu-North Local Government Area of the state to protest the ex-lover’s refusal to reconcile with him.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
Oyeyemi said the suspect was arrested, following a report lodged at Ago Iwoye divisional headquarters by the 62-year-old landlady of the house, Adejoke Salau.
The PPRO said the landlady reported that she heard a noise from one of her buildings within her compound situated at about 1:15 am on Tuesday, and when she came out she discovered that the building was on fire while the tenants in the house were trapped in there.
He explained further “She stated further that it was a quick intervention of neighbours that rescued the three tenants, but the house got burnt completely.
“Upon the report, the DPO Ago Iwoye, CSP Noah Adekanye, led his men to the scene from where the occupants of the house were invited to the station for interrogation in order to know the possible cause of the inferno.
“Out of concern for my young children and my wife’s well being, we made the unfortunate decision to leave Nigeria abruptly,” says Pastor Tomi Arayomi via his Instagram account.
Apostle Arayomi who’s the founder of the RIG Nation and Pioneer Church, United Kingdom (UK), was arrested and detained by the operatives of Department of State Services (DSS) on Friday at a Lagos Airport but was released after few hours.

We can confirm that on Good Friday 7th April we arrived at Abuja to visit one of our branches when we were picked up by about 6 armed agents who did not identify themselves as DSS or any law enforcement agency.
My wife, myself and my aide Emmanuel Ezerika were forced to surrender our mobile phones and enter the vehicles where we were taken at considerable speed to what we later learned were DSS HQ. The officers, some of who wore balaclavas were not immediately recognisable as DSS.
Our pictures were taken, finger prints and data collected and we were locked inside a room with no real knowledge as to the grounds for our arrest. After a lengthy interrogation, it appears media and social media pressure forced DSS to release my wife and I. My aide still remains under DSS custody and thus far, DSS have been elusive as to his exact whereabouts.
We will not divulge the particulars of the investigation at this point as we are still awaiting the safe release of my aide.

Meanwhile, the hotel management, in her reaction, added that they are fully in cooperation with the Nigeria Police in their investigation to ensure the truth about the cause of her death upholds, and the perpetrator of the evil is brought to book.
The hotel urges the general public to be patient during what they described as a difficult time in an official statement made available to journalists.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has announced a new date for the commencement of the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, UTME.
The board disclosed this in a statement signed by its spokesman, Fabian Benjamin in Abuja on Sunday.
Mr Benjamin said the UTME which was earlier scheduled to commence on April 29, would now start on April 25, 2023.
He also said the board would hold its rescheduled mock-UTME on April 18, 2023.
“It would be recalled that JAMB had earlier conducted its 2023 Mock-UTME on Thursday, March 30 in 725 centres across the country.
“However, the exercise ran into some technical hitches in some centres, thereby denying some candidates the opportunity to sit for the examination.
“The board’s mock examination was designed for the purpose of testing its preparedness and that of its partners for the UTME as well as give prospective candidates the opportunity to have hands-on experience of the CBT test environment.
“It is, therefore, in order to give those candidates, who were unable to sit for the examination owing to no fault of theirs, the opportunity to take the examination that the mock examination had been rescheduled to hold on Tuesday, April 18,” he said.
He said that candidates who were present and screened for the examination but could not sit for it had been rescheduled to retake the mock examination on April 18.
Mr Benjamin, therefore, said the result of the candidates who successfully took the mock examination on March 30, had been released.
He also said the board had brought forward the conduct of its 2023 UTME which was earlier scheduled to hold from Saturday, April 29, to Tuesday, April 25.
He said the adjustment in the date of the UTME was to accommodate some other major and critical national assignments.
“By so doing, the board hopes that no citizen will be denied the opportunity of exercising their civic responsibilities.
“It should be noted that the board does not have the liberty of shifting forward its examination as other public examinations are billed to commence their exercises in the early part of May 2023.
“Yet another factor is the need to accommodate those institutions with stable academic calendar to resume as scheduled,” he added.
He said the board would continue to partner with relevant agencies of government to ensure that its candidates got the best.
He said the board also solicited the understanding of all as it delivered on its critical mandate.
ODUDUWA NEWS has gathered that a lady identified as Adeshina Olayinka popularly known as khadi was found dead in a Wetland hotel in akobo Oyo state.
It was learnt that the lady before her death was a popular vendor who used to sell varieties.
According to the report, Khadi as popularly called went to spend a night with a man at Wetland hotel at Akobo on Wednesday night and when the man wanted to check-out on Thursday morning, the receptionist put a call through to Olayinka to confirm her safety and she picked up the call and gave permission that they should allow the man, that she was just resting and no cause for alarm, soon she will log out too.
Later, one of the receptionists who borrowed Olayinka power bank went to the room in order to return it and after knocking the door severally but no one responded, the hotel manager had to come with the extra card to open the door, unfortunately they saw her dead body on the floor.
According to a source who spoke under the condition of anonymity said, the man who took her to hotel might have perfected the timing of the ritual charm to work on her immediately after he left the hotel.
He said, “if the girl had died immediately before the man left, he would have been apprehended immediately and the mystery surrounded her death would have been revealed without any form of delay”.
The Landlords and Landladies Association of Ebedi Community Phase 11, in Iseyin local government on Sunday, appreciated the gesture of the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for approving the construction of the 2.65 kilometer road in the community.
The road network was sponsored by Iseyin local government after the Governor ordered its construction because of the effects of flooding and erosion on the residents and it spanned along Asado road, Bayo Raji road, Iseyin Local Government’s Quater’s road among others.
The association commended the Iseyin local government Chairman, Hon. Mufutau Abilawon for making necessary supports available for the project completion to be achieved.
They also showed their gratitude to the contractor of the project while speaking with journalists after an emergency meeting which they held at Odo-Oro area of the community, where executive members of the association met with a special road construction monitoring committee, set up to ensure due process during the project execution.
The Chairman, Landlords and Landladies Association of Ebedi Community Phase 11, Mr Mustapha Ibrahim, said the construction of the community road has eased the burden of motorists and motorcycle riders and opened the area to further development.
He mentioned that the area, where the largest assemblage of Garri Processing factories were located would benefit more as trucks offloading cassava and those loading bags of Garri to Lagos and other commercial cities will have easy access to the area, adding that the construction of the road and culverts has saved residents from hazards of gully erosion and flooding, that have claimed lives of some people in the past.
“We appreciate our dear governor for doing this for us, it will be in the record that this road was constructed during his time to alleviate the suffering of residents, it used to be a terrible network of roads within this community, today, we can see the criss-cross of tarred roads that has contributed to the development of our area.
“The big gullies that used to cut off the roads and claim lives during flooding have gone, we are grateful to the Governor and the Chairman of the local government for being there for us.
“It is our intention to also appreciate the Contractor of this project for his humility and listening ear whenever our Construction Monitoring Committee met with him on any of our demands, he is really a fatherly figure and an experienced engineer.”
The Treasurer of the association, Mrs Ojo Oluyemisi in her words, prayed for the Governor and the Chairman for deeming it fit to show good leadership traits to the people of Ebedi Community Phase 11.
She said the community will also benefit from its closeness to the Iseyin-Fapote-Ogbomoso road which will make residents enjoy less travel time and stress of bad road.
The Chairman of Garri Processing Factory owners in the area, popularly known as Garri-Gbayi Association, Mr Olaitan Sunday also took time to show his appreciation on behalf of his members to the Governor, saying that the gesture has reestablished their belief in good governance.
Olaitan said the ease of doing business that the road engendered will create more wealth for farmers, Garri producers and more job opportunities for young and old who work in the Garri industry.
A member of the community’s Road Construction Monitoring Committee, Alhaji Sulaimon Ganiyu in his words, said the community was happy for the project and called for an extension of the road by the local government authority, to link the close-by Iseyin-Fapote-Ogbomoso road.
The Civil Engineer claimed that the community road will add more value to land and other properties in the area while the government will also have access to more revenue from the cluster of Garri Processing factories in the area.
Speaking on his experience during the construction, Engr. Raji Adebayo Ganiyu who is the Managing Director of R.A & O.A Integrated Nig. Ltd., the construction company that handled the project, expressed his appreciation to the people of the community for their support at the outset of the project, during and after the road construction.
Raji noted the efforts of the Construction Monitoring Committee of the community for their roles in assuring a time-tested road construction of the 2.65kilometer road, two major culverts and twenty-one small culverts in the area.
He also commended the State government under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, for giving the construction company the opportunity to impact on the people of Ebedi Phase 11 in Iseyin and others that will be using the road.
