Students in Oyo State have embarked on protest to demand for an end to the long-running ASUU strike.

Students are calling on the Federal Government and academics to reach an agreement and terminate the strike.
Students at LAUTECH University in Ogbomosho barricaded the main road in front of the school, asking on the state governor, Seyi Makinde, to opt out of ASUU, as several other state universities have done, so that academic activity could continue.
The SUG President stated that LAUTECH has already been through numerous industrial crises and should not be subjected to further suffering.
In Ibadan, the southwest arm of Nigeria, a similar protest is taking place in Ibadan by the arm of National Association of Nigerian Students NANS, Southwest Chapter. The students who displayed series of placards with various inscriptions too to the streets and barricade major access to suburb of Ibadan.
