3rd Anniversary: Oduduwa News Donates Academic Materials To Secondary School In Ibadan, Perfects Plan To Reach Out To Others

In commemoration of 3rd Anniversary of Oduduwanews, the news agency on Wednesday, 26th of July donated academic materials (exercise books, socks and literature textbooks)to indigent students of Ajibode Grammar School, Ibadan.

Ajani Kayode, Oduduwa News Editor who led the team was received by the Principal of the school, Mrs Eyo Adebowale and other members of staff.

While presenting the items, Ajani Kayode stated that, since the media outlet started operation three years ago, it has been the culture of the media outlet in marking the founding day, and the the previous editions were done through public enlightenment, seminars on Journalism, and they decided to make this year special by reaching out to the communities.

“We are here today in commemoration of Oduduwa News 3rd anniversary, the two previous years were marked through public seminars, but this year, we decided to do it differently, four schools were suggested by our team, and we decided to start with your school, after it was recommended by Mr Ismael Taiwo, this is our token to contribute to the society, as we believe that government alone can’t do it”

He further advised other well-meaning Nigerians to see it as an obligation to give back to the society, most especially in area of support to indigent students and schools, as we will have a better society when government at all levels are complemented.

Mrs Eyo Adebowale appreciated Oduduwa News and Mr Ismael Taiwo for facilitating it and counting their school among the beneficiaries, she prayed for the media outlet and asked God to continue to bless them.

Receiving the literature textbooks, was the Literature teacher of the school, Mr. Mobolaji Johnson, who appreciated Oduduwa News for the kind gesture.

Other teachers in attendance were Mrs Jokanola, Vice Principal, Mr Abdulraheem Qudri & Mr Olapade Paul.

Other schools have been carefully selected across the five zones of the state to be part of the beneficiaries.

Speaking on behalf of other beneficiary students, Olatunji Timileyin, Bernard Emmanuela & Abiodun Timileyin expressed their gratitude on behalf of their fellow students, and prayed for more progress for Oduduwa News.

Finally, the media outlet appreciated Mr. Abdulsalam Sodeeq, Mr. Raheem Qadri, Mrs. Bukola Ajidagba, Mr. Olapade Paul, Aare Ahmed Muftau, FOSSU National General Secretary for their contribution to the successful implementation of the event.
