Prominent luxury real estate developer, Sijibomi Ogundele, popularly known as Sujimoto, has reportedly broken down in tears following his declaration as wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The anti-graft agency had earlier released a public notice declaring Sujimoto wanted over alleged financial improprieties, sparking widespread reactions across social and business circles. Sources close to the businessman revealed that he was visibly emotional and overwhelmed by the development, insisting on his innocence and vowing to clear his name.
Eyewitnesses said Sujimoto wept uncontrollably when informed about the EFCC’s official notice, describing the situation as “unjust and devastating” for someone who has built a reputation in Nigeria’s luxury real estate sector.
Meanwhile, the EFCC has urged the public to provide useful information on his whereabouts, while associates and stakeholders in the property industry have called for fairness and due process in handling the matter.
