A government-owned BRT bus was involved in an accident involving two ‘danfo’ cars painted yellow and an unidentified commercial bus driver on Wednesday.
The accident, which happened in the vicinity of Ogudu in Lagos State, paralysed traffic along the constantly congested sector connecting the Lagos-Ibadan Motorway.
Confirming the accident, spokesman for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) blamed the collision on the buses’ excessive speed.
He added that although the BRT bus caught fire, aggravating the congestion along the axis, the rain compounded the gridlock and LASTMA officials have been deployed to the accident scene to manage the traffic.
