The Health Emergency Initiative (HEI), an organisation that helps indigent patients, recently donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the management of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

While receiving the donated items on behalf of the hospital, the Chief Medical Director, Professor Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo thanked the team for the kind gesture and the continuous show of support to the Facility, especially during the present pandemic period.

He said, “This contribution will go a long way to help in the battle against the pandemic, knowing fully well that PPEs are highly needed for the adequate protection of all medical personnel, especially frontline health workers”.

The CMD also called on other well-meaning Nigerians to render necessary support to the State Government, through the hospital, in its effort to contain the community spread of the dangerous Coronavirus disease in Lagos, stressing that no gesture is too small.

In his response, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Paschal Achunine said that the donation was meant to support the health workers at the frontline in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also disclosed that the items were donated by HEI partner, ISHK Tolaram Foundation, to support the hospital in its onerous task.
