One of the church members, Olasunkami Olafisoye, a 24 years old university graduate, said she disobeyed her parents because they were leading her away from God.
Olafisoye said, “My parents are not attending the church again. When we left our former church, they usually stayed at home and before then, I am not comfortable with the Bible teaching of the church.

The General Manager of Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Arc. Gbolahan Oki, has again decried the alarming rate of defective structures in different parts of Lagos Island, assuring that the agency is working hand in hand with other relevant stakeholders in the built sector to restore sanity to Lagos Island and other parts of the State.
Oki, who led an enforcement gang of the agency on an inspection of buildings in some parts of Lagos Island on Thursday, disclosed that the team had to issue abatement notices to some non-confirming structures in the areas visited.
He warned inhabitants of physically-distressed structures to desist from always asking for additional weeks and months before they can vacate affected buildings when the structure is already a disaster in waiting.
His words: “Our emphasis has always been that whenever we discover that a particular building is distressed, what is expected of you is to vacate such a building immediately without waiting for any prompting from government officials because a distressed building will not give warning before it collapses”.
The General Manager said although the demolition gang of the agency usually faced the challenge of accessing some areas with the demolition equipment, it will continue to explore other available options to ensure that all marked distressed structures are safely brought down.
He also disclosed that LASBCA had demolished over 20 distressed buildings in the last three months in different parts of the State and gave an assurance that others already marked for demolition would soon be pulled down by the Agency.
Listing locations of some defective structures identified during the enforcement exercise as 25 and 26 Koilo Street, as well as 26 Atiko along Koilo on Lagos Island, the General Manager maintained that the buildings are going to be demolished within the next two weeks because they constitute a danger to the occupiers in their present state.
Oki, who had earlier paid a visit to the Palace of Oba of Lagos, HRM, Oba Rilwanu Akiolu I, to seek the consent of the traditional ruler on the enforcement exercise, said the State Government will continue to identify and demolish property that poses risks to the lives of Lagosians.
Responding, Oba Akiolu pledged his support to the government and pleaded for a more holistic approach to building control activities by nipping substandard construction in the bud from the planning stage of construction works.
He charged LASBCA to increase its staff strength so that the entire nooks and crannies of the State can feel their presence such that non-conforming construction works going on in some parts of the State can be easily and quickly discovered by officers right from inception.
During the enforcement exercise, some buildings under construction as well as those at various stages of renovation were sealed by the Agency. The affected buildings are located at 45, Enuowa Street, 42, Ricca Street and Iga Idugaran Street, all on Lagos Island.

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has invited Organised Labour in the State to a meeting, today, Wednesday to resolve the industrial action embarked upon by government workers.
The meeting is expected to discuss all issues contained in the list of grievances raised by the workers for embarking on the indefinite strike action.
A statement in Abeokuta on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Odusile, said the Governor is taking personal charge of resolving the grouse of the workers as part of his personal and Administration’s commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of workers in Ogun State, which has been amply demonstrated since the inception of the Administration.
“I am personally committed to ensuring an improved welfare of workers in Ogun State and will do all that is necessary to achieve this”, the statement quoted the governor as saying, adding that: “this is a workers’ friendly Administration and will remain so under my watch”.
“One of the first duties I performed on my first day at work as the Governor on May 30, 2019 was to approve the immediate payment of salaries of our workers, which had not been paid by the immediate past Administration until then. I also made a vow that salaries of workers in the State will be paid on or before the end of each month. And we have been doing that religiously ever since.
“Even in the face of dwindling resources, rising needs and this strike, the salaries are being remitted. I am sure they will start receiving bank credit alerts in the next 24 hours for the month of June. We are one of the few States in the country not owing workers salary and paying as and when due”, the statement quoted the Governor as saying.
It further explained that the whatever issues being raised by the aggrieved workers would be expeditiously addressed.
“Most of their complaints were inherited from the previous Administrations, but as a responsive and responsible Government, we are tackling them one after the other, even as we are being hampered by paucity of funds.
“The money accruable to us from the Federation Account and sundry sources have been dwindling for a long time now and this is affecting our ability to meet some of our obligations but even at that we have been prioritising the interests of our workforce”, Governor Abiodun added.
He assured the workers that he would do everything within available means to address issues of concern to the workers, whilst urging them to show understanding with the Government and call off the strike.
Ekiti State civil servants have given the state government 21 days within which to pay backlogs of their arrears or risk industrial action.
They said that non-payment of the entitlements had made life unbearable for them in the face of the present harsh economic realities.
The workers, under the aegis of Trade Union Congress, also bemoaned the incessant kidnappings in the state in recent times and charged the government and security agencies “to quickly rise to the challenge and nip it in the bud.”
In a communiqué signed by TUC State Chairman, Sola Adigun, and Secretary, Yomi Peters, at the end of its meeting, the body said Governor Kayode Fayemi promised to offset all arrears of payment before the expiration of his tenure in October, noting that he still had the opportunity of the next 21 days to redeem the promise.
Adigun and Peters listed their demands to include: remittance of already deducted dues such as co-operative deductions, contributory pension bank loans repayment, NHF fund, to the appropriate quarters.
They lamented that most members of TUC had not benefited from the new minimum wage after almost two years of implementation in the state, and called on the government “to implement the minimum wage across the board for all workers without further delay.”
While also noting that the 2018-2019 promotion exercise was selectively implemented, the union called on the government to ensure that others exempted should be immediately captured for financial remuneration.
The workers also frowned at the refusal of the Accountant-General of the state to continue with cooperative savings of Ekiti workers, due to the alleged presence of some syndicate operating in her office.

Mr Seun Abosede, the State Youth Leader of the Hon. Rasaq Salinsile led faction of the APC in Osun State has described as untrue, the report that the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and his successor, Governor Gboyega Oyetola, have settled their differences.
Abosede, in a statement today, stated that the picture being circulated on the social media where Aregbesola and Oyetola were hugging each other is an old picture, saying the minister never met with Oyetola in recent times as regard settlement of the crisis in All Progressives Congress in the State of Osun.
According to him, the people circulating the picture are same set of people who had crucified, badmouthed and lied against Aregbesola to achieve their selfish goal, saying they should bury their heads in shame for smearing the former governor’s image.
“While we are not opposed to genuine reconciliation of both Governor Oyetola and Aregbesola’s camps, the picture being circulated by the “data boys” is not only misleading but mischievous”.
“The people behind the circulation of the picture should be humble and sincere enough to initiate a reconciliation move of they so desire. We considered the widespread circulation of the picture as tricky and an attempt to blackmail the minister.
“The general public should please disregard the fake news”, said Abosede.
