Oduduwa Republic Agitators Write British Govt, Say ‘There ‘ll Be No Election in Yorubaland in 2023’

The Agitators for the secession of Yorubaland from Nigeria have written an open letter to the British Government on the need to support the creation of Oduduwa Republic.

It should be recalled that the pro-Yoruba nation conveners embarked on peaceful mega rally in Ibadan on Saturday, 17th of April, 2021 which was monitored live by ODUDUWA NEWS correspondent.

Olayomi Koiki, a media expert who spoke to ODUDUWA NEWS correspondent said they have written an open letter to British Government levelling allegations of conspiracies and carefully planned plots to stifle Yoruba people from seeking their Independent nation.

Mr. Kehinde Michael who was assigned to speak on behalf of the agitators read the open letter as highlighted thus:

“The British is the major cause of our problem in Nigeria for bringing us together with the North (Hausa Fulani) and I want to ask the British Government some direct questions, is this how you treat your citizens, you kill them, you don’t provide them basic amenities like free education, free health care, good roads, stable electricity, cater for the old, provide for your citizens that have not gotten job.

“Can you the British government open fire on your citizens when they are protesting for their right, if all these I ask, you provide for your citizens, it is high time you listened to us, the masses in Nigeria.

“You the British government by your connivance has inflicted suffering on Nigerians, you allow the Nigerian politicians to be looting our money by acceptint them to launder the looted money in your country.

“Now, we the pro-Yoruba Nation people are saying “enough is enough”, we can’t take this anymore, we want to go our separate way peacefully to form our new Yoruba Nation.

We want the world to know that we want to leave NIGERIA and for the world to come to our aid so we can leave Nigeria peacefully, we don’t want to shed blood before we have our desired Nation.

“We are tired of this nepotistic and fraudulent government looting Nigerian resources to develop and construct railway from Nigeria to Niger Republic. All what we are saying is that we want to have Yoruba Nation and no going back.

The marauding killer herdsmen Fulani came to our land to rape, kill, kidnap and collect huge amount of money from our people.

“They are claiming our land is theirs and the present government is even giving money to the people killing us, we say no to this and we can’t take this anymore ENOUGH is ENOUGH.

We want to go our separate ways, instead of the present government led by Muhammed Buhari to stop the killings by Bandits is backing them because they are his tribal men. You will recall that during the endSARS protest at Lekki Tollgate, they shot and killed Nigerian citizens protesting and till now nothing has been done, as nobody has ever taken responsibility for the killings.

“The Nigeria government has failed to provide good health care for us, that’s why our president came to your country for medical check-up. We say no to this, alot of Nigerians can not afford to travel out of Nigeria for medical check-up

“We say no to election in 2023 because we (Yoruba people) don’t want to be part of Nigeria anymore.

“The 1914 amalgamation has expired since 2014 which is over hundred years Nigeria has been together. We have the fundamental human right to say we don’t want to be part of NIGERIA anymore.

We want our nation (Yoruba Republic) and I will implore the British Government and entire world to desist from supporting the cause of this contraption called Nigeria”.

SSANU fumes at removal of LAUTECH VC, says Makinde’s ‘step aside’ order hasty, unconstitutional

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Branch, Ogbomosho has kicked against removal of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho LAUTECH by Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde. This was contained in a statement signed and sent to ODUDUWA NEWS its branch chairman, Comr. Fajoye Hamzat Oyelere which reads in part:

“The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities(SSANU), Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Branch, Ogbomoso received the news of the directive to “step aside” given to the University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Michael Olufisayo Ologunde vide a letter signed by the Oyo State Commissioner of Education, Science & Technology, Barrister Olasunkanmi Aremu Olaleye titled “Press Release” and dated April 16, 2021, with mixed feelings.

“The said letter did not categorically lay any allegation against the deposed Vice Chancellor other than saying that “His Excellency Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, Governor of Oyo State and Visitor to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso has directed that the Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Professor M. O. Ologunde should step aside until further notice”. The directive went ahead to instruct that, “consequently, the Vice Chancellor has been directed to handover forthwith to the next Principal Officer in rank in order to ensure uninterrupted flow of normal activities in the University”.

“Our Union in the light of equity, justice and fair play therefore, arising from her branch executive emergency online meeting held on Sunday, April 18,2021, having critically examined the contents of the letter and reports of our consultations with the members viz a viz the provisions of the LAUTECH Extant laws, wish to observe as follows, that:

“i). LAUTECH is not an appendage of the Ministry of Education, Science & Technology, Oyo State or the extension of the Office of the Hon. Commissioner of Education, Science & Technology of the State but a statutory body that has its establishment law as may be amended.

“ii). The law of the university did not give power to administer the university to the Commissioner but the Governing Council.

“iii). The power to appoint and terminate staff appointments is resided in the Governing Council and not the Visitor or his proxies including the Commissioner of Education, Science & Technology.

iv). The University enjoys autonomy in Nigeria, Oyo State inclusive.

v). The purported letter signed by the Commissioner of Education, Science & Technology will have no basis in law and can only generate animosity and innuendos within the university community and between Oyo and Osun States more so, the joint ownership status of the university was just severed in December 2020 and unfortunately the deposed Vice Chancellor is a vestige of the arrangement prior to the dismantling of the joint ownership status.

vi). The “step aside” directive is considered hasty, cumbersome and incongruous to the order that brought in the current principal officers of the university on February 14, 2019, and should be reversed in the name of equity, fairness and good conscience and also negated the position of His Excellency on LAUTECH as said in his radio and television broadcast of Saturday, February 20, 2021.

“We would like to remind His Excellency, Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde that on Saturday, February 20, 2021, on a live radio program anchored by the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State(BCOS), he informed the whole world that he heard on a good note that the Vice Chancellor incited the Unions on campus to go on strike to demand for the payment of their Eight(8) months outstanding salaries and allowances having paid Eight(8)billion naira to Osun State on the separation of joint ownership.

“The Governor in his final submission reasoned that he will allow the Governing Council to investigate the matter when it resumed work in order of him not to be seen as been despotic and undemocratic in dispensing judgment on the matter and that he will possibly not like a court case on the matter.

“Today, that Council has not officially assumed duty in the university since its inauguration by the Governor on April 1, 2021.

“Can we now ask the Commissioner where he derived the power to order the “step aside” of the Vice Chancellor when the Visitor he claimed to have directed him has openly declared that such power belongs to the Governing Council?

“Our Union is not interested in who becomes the Vice Chancellor beyond the fact that we lobbied the last Governing Council to consider and give us a homegrown Chief Executive Officer of the University after more than 25years of existence.

“Professor Ologunde can be removed by the Governing Council but not by the Visitor or his proxy. Even at that, his offense must be properly stated and investigated where he will be given opportunity to present his case to the extent of being represented by a lawyer of his choice if need be.

“He is not a direct appointee of the Governor if we will like the rule of law to prevail.

“SSANU will not want a confused situation where legal turmoil and civil unrest will be unnecessarily unleashed within the university community.

“We plead with His Excellency, Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde to rescind the directive as it is being executed and allow the rule of law to prevail under the principles of natural justice pending the open investigation of the Vice Chancellor by the Governing Council if need be”.

Lagos Govt To Empower Amputee Single Parent, Relocates Her To Temporary Shelter For Safety

Lagos State Government, on Monday, said that it has taken over the welfare of Mary Daniel, the 26-year-old homeless amputee and single mother, whose tragic story trended on social media platforms over the weekend.

Speaking on the intervention of the State Government, the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Civic Engagement, Princess Aderemi Adebowale, stated that the move became necessary in order to protect the physically challenged woman from abuse and risk.

According to the Special Adviser, Daniel, an indigene of Ayingba, Kogi State, who just moved to Lagos two weeks ago, hawked table water in traffic in Oshodi to earn a living, is now in temporary protective custody pending when further plans would be concluded by the government to get her an apartment and also empower her.

Adebowale said, “The case of Mary (Daniel) was brought to my attention by the Managing Director, Lagos State Lotteries Board and two politicians from Oshodi who expressed concern about her safety as some kind-hearted individuals have started sending money to her account to assist her”.

She explained that after her interaction with Daniel, it was agreed that the present administration should take over the case to ensure her personal safety, hence the involvement of the State Government.

Princess Adebowale promised to personally look over her as a guardian and make sure that she is properly settled in Lagos, saying “We will make sure she becomes a responsible citizen in the State”.

Electing Arapaja as S’West PDP Zonal chairman, a major determinant of 2023 presidential race, Makinde tells supporters

The zonal Congress of Peoples’ Democratic Party PDP of the Southwest region of Nigeria is currently holding at Osogbo, the State Capital of Osun State.

ODUDUWA NEWS gathered that thousands of supporters thronged to the venue of the Congress to support their various candidates. The venue was also filled with various political gladiators in PDP who also came to solidarize with their preferred candidates.

ODUDUWA NEWS had earlier reported how some party stalwarts believing to be loyalists of ex-Ekiti governor’s camp, Mr. Peter Fayose later pitched tent with their opposing camp of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde who had openly declared support for former Oyo State Deputy Governor, Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja.

Earlier today, Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde stormed the venue of the Congress in Osogbo and spoke to his teeeming supporters to ensure the emergence of his preferred candidate because the zonal Congress shall determine the 2023 presidential race.

He said whatever decision made at the congress would either make or mar the aspiration of Southwest in the battle for the 2023 presidential race as Southwest region would be a major force to reckon with regarding where the presidential ticket should be zoned to.

“I am appealing to you to lend your support to Ambassador Arapaja, he is qualified, experienced and loyal. There is no other candidate for the race that surpasses his wealth of experience in politics”, said Makinde.

Makinde while canvassing for support from his teeming supporters implored them to embrace peace throughout the electioneering process.

S’West PDP Congress: Fayose’s camp suffers setback as loyalists pitch tent with opposition

The crack in Fayose’s camp emerged following complaints by delegates loyal to him over neglect, abandonment and negligence of their interest.

Trouble started when a group of Ekiti state delegates within Fayose’s camp, led by a former house of reps member, complained that monies promised to delegates for mobilization and feeding have not been paid to them since they arrived at Osogbo, Osun state. The former federal legislator also accused Fayose of deceiving them with bogus promises without fulfilling any. He lamented his ordeal and expressed regret for blindly following the former governor.

The legislator’s complaint was echoed by other delegates present, from there, they decided to take their destinies to their hands.

Also, the PDP chairman informed his Lagos and Ekiti counterparts of the decision of delegates from his state to deliver their votes to Ambassador Taofik Arapaja for the PDP zonal chairmanship election, as well as other candidates endorsed by the camp of Governor Seyi Makinde.

The Ogun state party chairman lamented that he cannot be opposition in his state and PDP. He decried the severe polarization of the party that made them lose the 2019 election, and vowed that it would be different this time around. He further accused Eddy Olafeso of deliberately furthering crises for his selfish agenda.

He and other executive members are expected to formally make known their decision before commencement of the congress proper.

In another development, the camp of Senator Ademola Adeleke is in a state of confusion following the decision of the former senator to boycott the congress. According to the party faithful, Adeleke is currently holidaying in the United States, and has failed to communicate with his supporters in the past 72 hours.

Meanwhile, Osogbo, where the party’s congress is to hold, is relatively peaceful. Delegates are seen ready to vote in the interest of the unity of the party in the zone.

Governor Seyi Makinde, the Oyo state governor, has continued to sue for peace. He also assured every stakeholder that the congress will be peaceful despite the schemes of those that don’t wish the party well.
