The Labour Party has dispelled rumour flying around that it has joined its structure with APC in tommorow’s gubernatorial elections in Ekiti State.

This was contained in a statement signed and made available to ODUDUWA NEWS by the Spokesman of the party as read in part:

“The attention of the Labour Party has been drawn to an amusing dream, a pathetic wishful claim and a lying news report that suggests the collapse of Ekiti State LP structure into the APC.

“Setting the records straight, Bar. Okunade Odunayo is the only known State Chairman in Ekiti, while Comrade Roland Olugbenga Daramola and Alh Ibrahim Onile remain our governorship and deputy governorship candidates for the June 18th Ekiti governorship election.

“This is one public lie that cannot fly. This claim is false and untrue, and the public is advised to completely ignore the fake report. The Labour Party is amused by APC in publicly doing a dance of delusion, shame and open deceit parading a dismissed former Ekiti State LP Chairman as the LP structure.

“This ex-Chairman who was removed and dismissed for leading a few other equally implicated and dismissed ex-members in the stealing of Party funds are falsely and insincerely being presented to the public as the LP structure.

“That the dishonest Banji Omotosho got suspended and finally dismissed by the LP national convention in 2018 in Minna, Niger State, for fraudulent activities must be recognised as a potentially fitting and qualified for recruitment by the APC that is forever unrelentingly busy talent-hunting the highly dubious and amoral politicians in the political space. That Banji Omotosho who did remain drifting and floating aimlessly without political direction since 2018 has found a home in APC is not surprising because birds of the same feathers do flock together.”

“The party will keep pursuing the best interests of Nigerians and keep integrity, fair play, equity and justice as the cornerstone of driving all its activities”.

The lawmaker representing the Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, Shina Peller, has anmouced his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Peller made this disclosure in a resignation letter addressed to the Chairman of APC Ward 9, Koso in the Iseyin local Government Area of Oyo State.

Recall, Peller had jostled for Oyo North Senatorial ticket along with the incumbent senator representing the zone, Sen. Fatai Buhari but failed to clinch the party’s ticket.

That brought his four-year stint at the National Assembly to an end having declined to seek a second term in the House of Representatives to honour an agreement to rotate the seat in his constituency.

He said his people were embarrassed by the “undemocratic acts and decisions “ of some politicians in the state APC chapter.

The letter reads, “I write to formally inform you of the renouncement of my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“I took this decision after due consultation with my people from the Oke Ogun region and beyond who feel humiliated by the undemocratic acts and decisions of some gladiators within Oyo State APC.

“President Muhammadu Buhari preached bottom-to-top approach driven APC, but the undemocratic conduct of some party chieftains particularly in Oyo State has shown that the people from the grassroots and the youth will continue to be at the mercy of the few at the top, who impose their preferred candidate against the wish of the people, as recently witnessed in Oyo North Senatorial District where I belong.

“My people have therefore decided that we withdraw our membership of the APC, and I totally align with them as I delved into politics, not for a selfish reason but for the overall interest of Nigerian youths and the people of Oke Ogun. So. I hereby renounce my membership of the APC.

“Thank you so much.”

The former Commissioner of Education in Oyo State, Professor Joseph Olowofela under the administration of late Gov Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi has told the Gov of Oyo State to exercise caution on the move to remove his Deputy, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan.

Makinde should exercise caution on the impeachment of his Deputy, Olaniyan. It’s already in a public domain, that impeachment process has commenced on the Deputy Governor of Oyo-State.

“It’s also common knowledge that there is an inducement of N5million per person of the active participants. I want to draw the attention of H.E. Seyi Makinde by extension, Oyo-State House of Assembly.

“During Awolowo and Akintola saga. You must have read/heard what happened. During Ladoja and Akala you are a witness to what happened.

Now it’s Seyi Makinde and Olaniyan.

“The examples highlighted above may not be exact corrolary but before crisis is precipitated in the state, the state Governor should exercise restraints.

“In the last two years, the Deputy Governor has been effectively reduced to ” not a spared tyre but a punctured spare tyre”

“if by error of omission or commission he is removed by “orchestrated” impeachment process, then it will be a clear case of “hen alighting on a string, the hen will be uncomfortable so also the string” .

“The tenure of the Deputy Governor lapses on the 28th May, 2023. Which is few days time, his joining another party notwistanding but removing him will open pandora box the likes of which may be unexpected. “A stream may look calm but it has the capacity to drown the unweary”

affirmed that it would be 30 years in 2023 since his late father won the presidential election, expressed confidence that “there is going to be a repeat in 2023”.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party, Kola Abiola, has stated that he will repeat the feat achieved by his father, Chief MKO Abiola, in 1993, by winning the presidential election in 2023.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Mr Abiola who affirmed that it would be 30 years in 2023 since his late father won the presidential election, expressed confidence that “there is going to be a repeat in 2023”.

Kola Abiola stated this when he alongside the governorship candidates of the party received their certificates of return from the chairman of the party, Falalu Bello, at the national headquarters of the PRP in Abuja.

He asserted that he joined the PRP not because he was looking for a platform to contest the Presidency, but because of the party’s ideology.

He said, “I didn’t join the PRP because I was looking for a platform. I joined the PRP after doing my research. I joined because I believed in its ideology. There will be no sabotage from in-between because we have not eaten anything before.

“It reminds me of 1993. A lot of people came out for the first time to vote because of MKO. We are going to have a repeat of that in 2023. If we can win it then, we should win it now.”

The rumour of alleged disqualification of Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji BAO has been debunked by the campaign organisation of the APC gubernatorial aspirant.

“It has come to our notice that a fake news is being circulated in the social media to the effect that Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji BAO has been disqualified from the Gubernatorial election coming up this Saturday by INEC.

“This is untrue and a blatant lie that must be disregarded in it’s entirety. It is a mere conjecture and evil machination of unpatriotic people as well as a diversionary tactics from the camps of imminently defeated opponents meant to confuse the electorates.

The election is holding on Saturday 18 June 2022 as scheduled and BAO remains the most qualified and competent candidate for the job and by the commitment of the electorates and grace of God the next governor of Ekiti State”.
