Favour Foundation on Sunday, 19th of December Organized X-Mas Humanitarian Outreach in the city of Ibadan, Sanda Street, Honeywell Area, Molete where food items were distributed to less privileged people,aged and the widows.
Representing the CEO of the Foundation, Mr Tunde Alonge is the Oyo State Coordinator, Miss Adenugba Itunuoluwa at the outreach, said the purpose of the outreach is to reach out to thre vulnerable in this festive period and make them happy through the donation of food items as Christmas draw nearer.
She also emphasized the need for the wealthy to help people around them and not look down most especially on the less privilege, aged people,widows and orphans, as that is the only way to build a better society.
One of the beneficiaries named Jelilatu Olaitan appreciated the foundation for giving them food stuffs and money.
Friday 17th of December, 2021, Police Community Relations Committee(PCRC) presented an Award of Excellence to The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government; Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele.
Hon. Sanda in his word of acceptance, appreciated the efforts of the police force in Egbeda Local Government for their cooperation and for guaranteeing a secured and peaceful environment for the people.
He furthered that Egbeda Local Government is the first and only Local Government to have donated a vehicle for Operation to the Divisional Police Station and also stressed that his Government is primarily committed to the security of life and properties of the people of Egbeda Local Government.
CSP Abiodun Salami(D.P.O Egbeda L.G.) commended the effort of the Local Government Chairman for he’s contributions so far since he resumes office.

Inukan Development Forum Ajia, Oyo State on Saturday, hosted their end of the year party & thanksgiving.
The forum is social cultural group formed purposely to bring together illustrious sons and daughters of Ajia, Aboku, Olokemeji, Ojoku, Isase, Laduntun, Jago about 235 villages to promote peace and harmony within their communities.
The President of the Forum, Engr. Sunday Gbenjo while given his welcome address appreciates the Governor for bringing development home, describing him as a true son of the land. “We want to thank him for the construction of the 21km road from Egbeda to Ajia to Odi-Odeyale and down to Airport”
The President also appreciates the efforts of the founding fathers of the Forum, Late Pa Theophilus Akinyele, Late Pa. Ajayi, Pa Ladipo among others.
The event also featured the presentation of notebooks to ten primary schools within the community, among which includes: St. Andrew Primary School. St. Luke Primary School. Ajewumi, St. John. Anglican School, Badeju. St. Peter Primary School, Ojoku. United Primary School. St. Stephen Basic School, Jago & St. Luke Anglican, Adigun.

The Central Working Committee of Ibadan Cultural Week Headed by Balogun Gafar Ojetola held the 2nd committee meeting on 13th of December, 2021 brainstorm with members of the committee in order to make the cultural week a success.
At the meeting, some crucial decision were made, all of which were targeted at making the cultural festival week remarkable and one of its kind, in the history of Ibadan land.
It should be noted, that the Ibadan week will be celebrated in the month of March at a date to be announced soon. Among other things agreed upon by the committee at the meeting include the arrangement of event shown below.
Among other proposed activities include: Oke Ibadan festival and Local Government parade. Jumat Service and Amala day. Visit to the Olubadan of Ibadan Land and Fuji night. Church Service. Stage play. S .Amole U_18 female football competitions (Final) and Luncheon. Youth Day. Oreke Beauty Contest (final) and Talent hunt. Education/debate and JBC day. Grand finale.
Furthermore, the committee proposed some other innovation, one of which is the introduction of Trade fair/ Exhibition to allow business owners to showcase their goods and products between day 7 &9 of the programme, also, there was a decision reached by all members to honor all Past President General during the Grand Finale.
The Ibadan Prime Youth Forum (IPYF) through the leadership of the Forum eulogizes the highest socio-cultural indigenous body in Ibadan land both home and abroad on the support given to the Forum at the recently concluded 1st edition of Ibadan Youth Summit.
The Forum through its National Coordinator, Dr. Oluwatunmise Adeagbo appreciates the Council for not only given life to the Forum but for standing by it and ensuring that the Forum grows. He also re-assured them that the youth wing will continue to make CCII and Ibadan proud while contributing their quota to the development and advancement of Ibadan youths.

The Executive Chairman of Oorelope Local Government, Hon. Raheem Akeem Adepoju on Monday during a Medical Outreach on Eye organized by the Council emphasized the importance of healthy eyes as integral part of human existence.
During the Programme, free eye testing was conducted on participants and drugs were given to those who need them.
“I am greatly honoured to be hale and hearty to be part of this wonderful life-touching programme of humanity. The importance of eyes or eyesight to every man or woman cannot be over-emphasized. It explains why we all need to attach great importance to the care of our eyes. According to Ralph Waldo Emerson, “The health of the eye seems to demand a horizon” and the Yoruba people has a saying that “The eye is the greatest body part, while the feet is the greatest for movement. May we be able to move as far as we see and see as far as we move.”
“Meanwhile, being ill or unwell is a major characteristic of humans. What is important is take the correct health measures whenever we are down. This justifies our being here at this moment. One of the most valuable gift a man can give to another man is the gift of healthy living. It is on this not that I urge everyone here present to grab this rare opportunity with both hands with an heart full of appreciation.”
The Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the entire sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland on the demise of one of the paramount rulers of the ancient town, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi , Ajagungbade the third.
Accordingly to the Statement made available to Oduduwanews by the Media Aide to The Speaker, Hon. Ogundoyin described the death of Oba Ajagungbade the third marks the end of a glorious 48years rule.
” The death of Soun signals the end of a glorious era in Ogbomosoland and indeed Yorubaland. Ogbomosoland has lost a quintessential Oba who distinguished himself as a true heir to the throne of his ancestors. It is so sad that we lost Oba Ajagungbade at the auspicious age of 95 when his abundant elderly, native and ancestral experience is required by all and sundry.”
According to the Speaker, Oyo state has lost a brilliant, magnificent and thorough bred business mogul whose midas touch and reign brought monumental development to Ogbomosoland.
“We lost a great business man and a genuine patriot who did all within his means and power to transform Ogbomosoland. His 48years reign no doubt put Ogbomoso on the pedestal of socio-economic development.”
The Speaker noted that Oba Jimoh Oyewumi was known and appreciated throughout his life as a no-nonsense and disciplined traditional ruler, adding that his death has left a great vacuum among the traditional rulers in Yorubaland.
He commiserated with the Oyo State traditional council of Obas.
The Speaker said Oba Ajagungbade will be sorely missed by everyone and prayed for the repose of his soul.
The lawmaker representing Ibadan North West/Southwest Federal constituency on Saturday empowered his constituents with different items worth over one hundred million naira, a gesture, he said was made to reduce poverty and unemployment within his constituency.
At a programme tagged “Odidi Omo Mega Empowerment 2021”, items, which include; Motorbikes, Hair Dryers, Sewing Machines, Deep Freezers and Grinding Machines were presented to over two thousand constituents to improve their lives economically.
Speaking in an interview, the lawmaker, Hon. Olajide explained that the programme was part of his efforts to change the political narratives and take his people from poverty to prosperity.
Hon. Olajide stated further that large number of youths in the constituency has been trained in poultry farming and were given the needed support to sustain the business upon completion.
He said he has also embarked on Youth Digital Training programme, with a promise to give them laptops and other gadgets needed to run the online business, which according to him will reduce the rate of internet fraud that is very rampant amongst the Nigerian youths of today.
The lawmaker maintained that the programme was a multiple mega rally, in conjunction with relevant federal government agencies, to ensure the purpose was actualized.
He explained that the beneficiaries were drawn from all areas within the constituency to ensure that no one is left out in the programme, irrespective of their political or religious affiliations.
Hon. Olajide added that the items will be returned to the constituency office where beneficiaries will be provided with collection tags that they will use to pick them at a later date.
He said this became imperative to prevent them from being attacked by hoodlums, who may want to rob them of the items on their way home.
Odidi Omo, who assured the people of his commitment to keep impacting their lives positively, through life changing programmes, appealed to the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the equipments and not selling them for mere monetary gains.
In his remarks, the chairman, People’s Democratic Party in the state, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro commended the lawmaker for the initiative, calling on others to emulate the good gestures to ensure dividends of good governance get to all and sundry. Adegbenro urged members and beneficiaries of the programme to embrace the party by supporting all it’s programmes for future electoral success. Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for the good gesture, with a promise to make proper use of the items to add value to their lives. Two students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ajibade Abdullah Adewale and Latinwo Gbolahan have been shortlisted for the 2021 edition of the annual Campus Journalism Awards organized by News Digest. The duo, who are part of the newly sworn In executive members of the Association of Campus Journalists, Obafemi Awolowo University are currently serving as Chairman, Guild of Editors and Financial Secretary of the association respectively.
The announcement of the fourth edition of the award was contained in a statement released in Abuja by Youths Digest on News Digest online newspaper, on November 11, 2021 stating that 30 finalists were shortlisted to jostle for the 15 awards categories out of 304 entries.
The various categories of the awards are: “Edirin Jerry-Wesley Best Student in Broadcasting Award”, “Upcoming Writer”, “Entertainment Writer”, “Sports Writer”, “News Reporter”, “Gender Equality Reporter”, “Broadcaster” and “Photo-journalist”.
Others are: “Penclub”, “Author (Book)”, “Social Media Influencer”, “Investigative Journalist”, “Features Writer”, “Editor”, “Print Magazine”, and “Campus Journalist of the Year”.
According to the head of the screening committee, Alfred Olufemi, who is also an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University and 2018 CJA Campus Journalist of the year, he said the entries were graded based on merit but said some of those categories were very competitive.
“The quality of the entries received shows that journalism in the students’ space has gone beyond what we used to have in the past. Students did excellent reporting, investigations, and insightful features.”
“The awardees for the Campus Journalism Awards will be announced at Hotel 2020, Wuye District, Abuja on Saturday 11th December, 2021 by 3pm prompt,” he said.
While the Editor of Youths Digest, Gidado Shuaib, added that the finalists will be provided with accommodation, feeding, and stipends for local transport.
He also stated that Dayo Aiyetan, Executive Director, International Center for Investigative Reporting (ICIR) will be the keynote speaker while Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, Former Minister of Education will be the Chairman of the Occasion, Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity will be the Special Guest of Honour, Comrade Auwal Musa Rafsanjani, Executive Director of Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre and Chairman Transition Monitoring Group (TMG) will be the Chief Host.
The theme for the 2021 Campus Journalism Award (CJA) is “The Role of Media in Troubling Times”.
Ibadan Prime Youth Forum (IPYF), the Youth Wing of CCII has sent their appreciation to the Honourable Minister, Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare for honoring their invite as the Keynote Speaker at the First Ibadan Youth Summit which held last week Thursday.
Representing the Minister was Mrs Titilope Gbadamosi, who is the Research and Data Consultant to the Minister of Youth and Sports Development. She delivered the Minister’s good will message and reiterated the commitment of the Federal Ministry of Youth & Sport in a more youth-friendly policies and programmes which the ministry has been known for over the years.
The IPYF National Coordinator, Dr. Oluwatunmise Adeagbo when appreciating the Minister said “Ibadan Youths are grateful to the Minister for honoring our invitation. Despite his busy schedule, he was able to send a vibrant representative who delivered the keynote speech excellently, we appreciate this and we aren’t taking it for granted, as we look forward to more and better collaboration with your office in the future for the greater good of all the youths of Ibadan land”
Furthermore, the Forum appreciates all the discussants who featured at the first Panel Session namely Hon. Afeez Bolaji Repete (ably represented by Hon. Fatima Hassan), Asiwaju Olasunkade Azeez (Youth Coach & HR Expert), Amb. Romoke Ayinde (KAYROM LEE), Hon. Titilope Gbadamosi (Community Relations Expert), and Mrs. Steve Ogundipe Olayinka (representative of the National Directorate of Employment NDE).
Also, the Forum extends its appreciation to all the Panel discussants at the second session. They are; Mrs. Damilola Ashaleye (Asdam Solar), Mr Israel Raphael (Wennovation Hub), Mr. Wale Oladiti (Weeldrop Petroleum), Mrs. Adejoke Lasisi (Planet 3R), and Engr. Musa Busari Akere (Chairman, NATE Oyo State).
However, he expressed dissatisfaction towards the attitude of some dignitaries that failed to show up for this laudable event despite invitations. He urges them to always respond to youths’ clarion call, most importantly, programs targeted towards proffering sustainable solutions to the challenges of youths of Ibadan land and Nigeria in general. He hope and pray that this will be corrected in the future.
