The Electoral Committee of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) hereby announces the disqualification of a candidate of the Oluyole Social Elites Club from the upcoming CCII General Elections. This decision was made in strict adherence to the constitutional provisions of the CCII, specifically Sections 3.3 (iii) and 8.2 (iii), and was not in any way an indictment of the nominee’s competence.
Regrettably, we have observed that certain parties have made allegations and insinuations in response to this development. While we appreciate their frustration, it is not becoming of stakeholders to engage in uncivilized diatribes against the Board of Trustees and Legal Committee, whose impartiality and dedication are beyond reproach. The CCII Constitution represents the bedrock of our organization’s ethical principles, and it behooves all concerned parties to uphold its stipulations.
We commend those who have demonstrated decorum and eschewed divisive rhetoric that could undermine the unity of the Ibadan people. We express our gratitude to them for their unwavering support as we strive to uphold the integrity of the CCII elections.
Finally, we would like to announce that, pursuant to Section 8.3.7 (i) of the CCII Constitution, the General Elections have been postponed to now hold on 12th of May, 2023.

The former Governor of Old Oyo State, and the renowned scholar of Mathematics, Dr. Victor Omolulu Olunloyo has attributed his death news made public last year July to an unprofessional conduct of the Medical Doctor who firstly attended to him.
Dr. Omololu Olunloyo who was the then Governor of Old Oyo State in 1983 for three months before the military took over made this known while delivering his speech as a guest speaker at the 65th Adegoke Adelabu Memorial Lecture held today in Ibadan.
The former Governor said though his heart stopped working for 9 seconds and this made the Doctor attending to him to pronounce him dead.
“Last year, a stupid Doctor Kola Sanyaolu pronounced me dead, then a more brilliant doctor, Professor Mayowa pronounced me alive, so, I had a near death experience for nine seconds”, said Olunloyo.
The Ibadan Prime Youth Forum popularly known as the CCII Youth Wing which is the apex body of all Ibadan youths both home and in the diaspora has felicitated the President- General of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Prince Oluyemisi Adetayo Adeaga on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
The forum headed by Dr. Oluwatunmise Adeagbo described Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga as a father and mentor whose leadership style has been a source of inspiration for the forum from the beginning of his administration. “On behalf of all Ibadan youths, we celebrate our father and leader, the President- General of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes as he clocks another year today.”
Speaking further, the Forum said they recognize and appreciate all the numerous developmental work his administration has done through CCII for the development Ibadanland and pray that God Almighty will continue to guide him right to do more and bless his future endeavors. “We also want to use to medium to appreciate baba for the developmental projects his administration has recorded, we can see them and we are proud of them all. Omituntun Initiative in the Diaspora (OID) a group of Nigerian professionals in the Diaspora supporting the Governor Seyi Makinde-led government, has congratulated Governor Makinde on his well-deserved landslide victory in the just-concluded gubernatorial election in the state.
In a congratulatory message signed and made available to newsmen by OID convener, Mr Moses Eledan, he described Governor Makinde’s resounding win as a testimonial to the confidence and trust that the good people of Oyo State have in his stewardship and vision to continue with his giant strides for good governance.
He added that the election results reflected the wishes of the people of Oyo State as the majority of the voters have overwhelmingly voted to re-elect the people’s governor, who represents the government of the people for the common good of all as against some power grabbers that place selfish interest above citizens’ welfare.
Mr Eledan emphasised that Governor Makinde ran an impressive campaign with his progressive values of fairness, equity, justice, and honesty based on his vision for the citizens as outlined in his manifesto, Omituntun 2.0.
“The governor’s victory is an inspiration to everyone, especially the younger generations, and the outcome of the election demonstrated people’s will, hope, freedom, and a true democracy in action,” he added.

The Federation of Ibadan Students’ Union under the leadership of Aare Fakolade Anuoluwapo TIMFAK has sent a congratulatory message to Gov. Seyi Makinde on his re-election as the Governor of the State for a second term.

The Federation of Ibadan Students’ Union, Osun State University on Sunday congratulated His Excellency, Engr Oluseyi Makinde on his re-election victory.
In a statement signed by the Union President, they described Gov. Seyi Makinde victory as a results of the unprecedented success recorded in his first tenure.

Chief Adebayo Adelabu has congratulated Engr. Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State on his victory at the March 18, 2023 governorship election.
