On the account of the late Tuesday evening Explosion that rocked most part of Ibadan, the Association of Professional Retired Nurses and Midwives of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter APRNMN has assured the Oyo State government through a release made by their Chairman, Balogun Gaphar Babatunde Ojetola on Tuesday night.

You will recall that it was announced on all major media channels of an explosion which rocked many parts of inner Ibadan City which left some victims injured with some fatality recorded. In a major incident such as this, it is most likely that service users will overwhelm available regular service providers. In such  incidents that cause significant disruption to everyday business operations, and usually demand an urgent, high-priority (sometimes all-hands) response , experienced stakeholders with equal capacity and capabilities like the retired professional Nurses and Midwives could be kept on standby.
In this regard and in the spirit of service to God and humanity, the Association of Professional Retired Nurses and Midwives of Nigeria Oyo State Chapter, APRNMN are ever ready to lend a helping hand to their serving colleagues should the need arise. The state government should be assured of our voluntary services at all times of need.

On the same note, we commiserate with the Executive Governor, government and the good people of Oyo State on this catastrophy. May the good Lord heal the wounded and preserve the living. Amen

Gov. Makinde commissions Omoluabi FM, say his administration will continue to encourage investors, youths

Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, on Thursday, said that his administration will continue to create a conducive and an enabling environment for investors with great ideas to move the state forward irrespective of political affiliations or differences.
The governor equally maintained that the state government would continue to encourage youths in the state, noting that the future of Nigeria rests on its youths.
Governor Makinde stated this while commissioning the Omoluabi FM in Ibadan.
He said that due to his administration’s commitment to creating an environment where businesses can thrive, the number of radio stations he met on the ground has nearly tripled.
The governor added that his government has been able to build a modern Oyo State, which has attracted more investors and businesses in major corridors of the state.
He said: “In the past three weeks, this is the second radio station that we will be declaring open. On the 27th of December, I declared open the Dynasty FM Station in Oyo, owned by the Ajisafes. And today, we are declaring Omoluabi 87.7 FM open.
“When this administration came in, we met roughly 20 radio stations and we have moved to almost triple of the number we met on ground.
“One unique thing about this place is the youthful members of staff and management. It is extremely important to us and it is an opportunity for you guys to set the tone.
“I started my business at the age of 29 and I have been paying salaries rather than receiving since then. I am now 56. So, it is an avenue for you to prove that the future of Nigeria, indeed, is the youthful population, because you have the energy and the intellect. So, in Oyo State, we will continue to encourage our youths.”
The governor lauded the founder of the radio station, a former Minister of Youth and Sports, Chief Sunday Dare, for the heavy investments in the business, stating that his government would continue to encourage investors.
He added that the state government would provide adequate security and lighting around the area.
According to Governor Makinde, political differences should not be allowed to affect businesses negatively.
He urged political loyalists to embrace peace and stop creating political wars among the politicians, stressing that no politicians is worth dying for.
“I am glad to be here to support my brother and it has nothing to do with politics.
“We will continue to create a conducive atmosphere where we can all interact irrespective of party affiliations. Government and players will come and go but our state will remain.”
Speaking earlier, Chief Dare thanked the governor and the government for their support while setting up the radio station and equally for embracing privatisation.
Earlier in his welcome address, the General Manager of the radio station, Mr Stephen Adedigba, said the station is a youth-driven initiative and that it would uphold integrity.
The event had in attendance a former deputy governor of Oyo State, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo; former Speakers of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Akin Onigbinde (SAN) and Rt. Hon. Asimiyu Niran Alarape; Secretary to the State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo; Head of Service, Mrs Bunmi Oni, and commissioners, among other top government functionaries.

Hon. Musiliu Olaide Adewale Akinremi Jagaban: a blessing to Ibadan North, Oyo State and Nigeria ~ Balogun Gaphar Babatunde Ojetola

Happy New Year to a wonderful parliamentarian says Balogun Gaphar Babatunde Ojetola.

It is another magical occasion when the entire humanity gives praise to God for the benefit of finishing the race of an expired year and the beginning of the race to a new year. In the process, one will slow down to assess the past year in preparation for a new year race. The challenges, the opportunities, the blessings and unexpected favor in comparison to losses or near misses. For all of these, one cannot but give praise to Allah. To almighty God we return all praises for the benefit of seeing another beautiful year 2024.
Along these journeys, Honourable Musiliu Olaide Adewale Akinremi Jagaban has demonstrated a great sense of service, generosity and exemplary support to his constituency and beyond. An uncommon attribute which placed him over and above all the previous parliamentarians representing the Ibadan North Federal Constituency. The records are there to be challenged.
I doubt if Ibadan North Federal Constituency has ever had it this good. On this note, I want to encourage this humble servant of the masses not to relent in his charitable efforts in delivering dividends of democracy to his people within and afar. The good Lord will never cease his blessings on you and people are praying fervently for your success in and out of office.
As we go into the new year, many others who are expecting to benefit from your series of meaningful empowerment programs should be adequately captured in the net of potential beneficiaries to be empowered. God will empower you to do more and serve your people beyond expectations.
I wish you, your family, the entire Ibadan North Federal Constituency , the state at large and the entire nation-Nigeria a happy new year full of blessings and divine grace.
Congratulations and Happy New Year.

Let it be known that our living to witness the advent of a New Year is the highest privilege and blessing from God. For this grace, let us all give praises and adoration to our creator. We pray to witness many more years in fulfilment and realisation of our dreams.

The recently expired year 2023 is one that Grammarians will remember as a year of many achievements, yet of grievous losses. A year of accomplishments and sacrifices.

For the year 2024 beginning today, let us be steadfast in prayers and renewed Hope for a more blessed future. In doing this, I want to appeal for solidarity aimed at rebuilding a stronger Association. A formidable IGSOSA family in support of our alma mater.

The Perimeter Fence Project passionate appeal:

The Ibadan Grammar School lands and property is highly porous to threats of invasion, vandalisation and land grabbing by unscrupulous elements in the society. We have the responsibility to protect our alma mater, especially when the government is doing absolutely nothing in this regard. The Old Students, in their traditions and giving back cultures has committed hundreds of millions of projects for the school benefit however, these infrastructures are constantly invaded, destroyed and stolen times without numbers. The initiative to fence the entire school compound has been on for a very long time and we should make concerted efforts to achieve this life time landmark project for our alma mater. It is a task that must be done, with all your support.

To our individual colleagues, please support and donate to this Perimeter Fencing Project.

To our Class Sets, please support and donate to this Perimeter Fencing Project.

To our Branches and Chapters, please support and donate to this Perimeter Fencing Project.

To corporate organisations and philanthropists, please support and donate generously to this Perimeter Fencing Project.

I pray that God enrich and bless you beyond human comprehension as you donate generously towards the project of our hearts. Amen and God bless you.

Strike: Patients Stranded in Oyo Hospitals

Patients in all the State Owned Hospitals in Oyo State were stranded on Monday as health workers in the state embarked on an indefinite strike.

According to a visit made to Jericho State Hospital, Ibadan by our corespondent, and other state owned facilities, patients were left unattended to as health workers on duty couldn’t attend to the need of all, as only the extreme emergency cases were given priority by the few health workers on duty.

Oduduwanews also learnt that the health workers embarked on strike due to the refusal of the State government to attend to their demands which include improved working conditions, welfare of health workers, and increment in their salaries to reflect the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy among others.
