The Southwestern Nigeria Security Network (WNSN), codenamed Amotekun Corps, in Oyo state has arrested four suspected kidnappers on Thursday along Iseyin-Oyo road.

The suspected kidnappers who were arrested at a farm at Odo-Ogun were identified as Adam Musa (18 years old) from Kogi State, Babuga Ali (19 years old) from Sokoto State, Abdullahi Sheu (18) from Niger State and Umar Mesan (17 years old) from Kano State.

The four men were apprehended while attempting to kidnap another farmer at Odo-‘Mighty Ogun’s Farm,’ where they were found with a variety of weaponry including locally made firearms and ammunition, machetes, knives, and other hazardous weapons.

The offenders told Amotekun operatives that they were responsible for two successful kidnappings in which they received N6.4 million and N1.2 million from the two victims.

They also said that they sent N3 million from the ransom collected to a yet-to-be-identified contact in Kano State, who they said would assist them in obtaining several cows.

The suspects have been handed over to the Police in Iseyin for additional investigation and prosecution, according to a close source within the Amotekun operatives in Iseyin who spoke to ODUDUWA NEWS.

Lekbad Column: Ronaldo’s Iconic Return And The Symbolic No. 7 Jersey

Comrade Lekan Badmus, is a columnist, writer and contributor @Oduduwa News.

It is no more a news that CR7 has returned to the team that brought him into limelight. What is news is whether he would be honoured with his symbolic jersey no 7 currently on the neck of Cavani.

Jersey no 7 is the most popular jersey number in Man U. From George Best to David Becham , Ronaldo to Owen, Depay to Martial and currently to Cavani, every player that has worn the number is seen as a genius and an extra ordinary player. The issue now is: will CR7 retain 7; a number that has become household to his hotels and private jet ?!

It is not impossible to return 7 to Christiano. Cavani could willingly submit. Never forget the fact that Martial relinquished the number to the current holder.

If Dybala could do that for Ronaldo at Juve, nothing stops Cavani to respect Ronaldo.

At PSG, Neymar wears 10 which incidentally is synonymous to the new arrival- Messi. This might pose little emotional problem. Although, report revealed that Messi would be given No 30 which he wore at Barca while Ronaldhino was wearing 10. As soon Ronaldhino left, Messi got 10.

One thing is cock sure. If this issue of 7 is subjected to an open debate in England, majority would vote for CR7.

Omo ju omo lo !

Meanwhile, the available number of jerseys optional and available for the the five-time world best player are : 12, I5, 24, 28, 30, 32, 33.

In conclusion, the return of Portugal Christiano Ronaldo would undoubtedly improve the image of the red-devils, increase the popularity of Premiership, attract more money and spectators to the “Theatre of Dreams” and ultimately inject serious competition to the the team.

Hidden Ways To Save Money That You Might Be Missing

Good web design has visual weight, is optimized for various devices, and has content that is prioritized for the medium. The most important elements of a web page should have more visual weight to “naturally attract” a visitor’s attention.

Good design is making something intelligible and memorable. Great design is making something memorable and meaningful.

Dieter Rams

Most users search for something interesting (or useful) and clickable; as soon as some promising candidates are found, users click. If the new page doesn’t meet users’ expectations, the back button is clicked and the search process is continued.

A good website should be easy to navigate

Not all websites are made equal. Some websites are simple, logical, and easy to use. Others are a messy hodgepodge of pages and links.

How are innovations in robotics changing the way we perceive the world?

Without website navigation, your visitors can’t figure out how to find your blog, your email signup page, your product listings, pricing, contact information, or help docs.

Quick and easy access to the content they’re after is more important for your website users than a… visually-stunning design.

Creating visual rhythms in your layouts

In design, rhythm is created by simply repeating elements in predictable patterns. This repetition is a natural thing that occurs everywhere in our world. As people, we are driven everyday by predictable, timed events.

Why does Bluetooth use lossy rather than lossless compression

One of the best ways to use repetition and rhythm in web design is in the site’s navigation menu. A consistent, easy-to-follow pattern—in color, layout, etc. Gives users an intuitive roadmap to everything you want to share on your site.

Diving into UX and UI design

UX and UI: Two terms that are often used interchangeably, but actually mean very different things. So what exactly is the difference?

Styles come and go. Good design is a language, not a style.

UX design refers to the term “user experience design”, while UI stands for “user interface design. Both elements are crucial to a product and work closely together. But despite their relationship, the roles themselves are quite different.

Breaking down the barriers

Design is not the end-all solution to all of the worlds problems — but with the right thinking and application, it can definitely be a good beginning to start tackling them.

Osun at 30: We’re changing Osun narrative from civil service State – Oyetola

The Governor of the State of Osun, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, has said one of the contributions of his administration to Osun’s journey is changing the narrative of the State from a civil service State.

He explained that economic diversification had been one of the drivers of his administration, with Agriculture, Tourism and Mining (ATM) being important diversification instruments.

This, according to him, informed the decision to organise the Osun Economic summit in 2019 which brought critical stakeholders and potential investors to the State.

Oyetola, while fielding questions during a live broadcast as Guest of the Month on the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC), as part of events to mark the 30th Anniversary of the State’s creation, assured that in a matter of years, Osun will thrive significantly in mining.

“I’m not contesting whether or not the State was known as a civil service state, but we are changing the narrative. The essence of the Osun Economic summit of 2019 is to talk about the possibility of economic diversification.

“We sought to diversify the economy from a civil-service-reliant economy to one that is buoyant. We identified agriculture, mining and tourism as our growth sectors and we have indeed done well in these three sectors, particularly in the area of mining.

“It will amaze you that we have interested investors coming from Canada and other foreign countries to explore the possibilities of responsible mining in the State, as against previous activities that gave rise to degradation, low remediation and the likes.

“Now, we have responsible miners like Segilola Gold Project. And a number of them are still showing interest. So, I can assure you that in a matter of years, Osun will be able to thrive significantly on mining”, he said.

Commenting on the State of Osun at 30, Oyetola described the progress of the State as one that is steady yet setting enviable precedence of good governance.

He commended the efforts of the founding fathers and former governors who had served in the course of the State’s history, adding that they all contributed positively to the development of the State.

Kanu, Igboho: Nigeria will not break up – Obasanjo on secession agitations

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said Nigeria would continue to exist despite secession moves.

Obasanjo explained that Nigeria would continue to exist because the cost of break up will be devastating.

The former president made the declaration during the 85th Birthday of Prelate Sunday Mbang of the Methodist Church Nigeria on Friday, in Lagos.

According to Obasanjo: “I want to assure you that Nigeria will continue to exist because the cost for Nigeria not to continue to exist is much more than the cost for us to make Nigeria continues to exist.

Sports: Ronaldo breaks silence after returning to Man Utd, pens farewell letter to Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo has penned an emotional farewell letter to Juventus fans after he left the club to return to Manchester United on Friday.

The 36-year-old hailed the Bianconeri as “the biggest club in Italy” and one of the biggest in Europe.

Ronaldo however admitted that they did not achieve all they wanted at Juve, although they had good memories together.

The Portuguese player joined the Serie A giants from Real Madrid in 2018, in a deal worth £100m.

“Today I depart from an amazing club, the biggest in Italy and surely one of the biggest in all of Europe.

“I gave my heart and soul for Juventus and I’ll always love the city of Turin until my final days.

“The “tiffosi bianconeri” always respected me and I tried to thank that respect by fighting for them in every game, every season, every competition.

“In the end, we can all look back and realize that we achieved great things, not all that we wanted, but still, we wrote a pretty beautiful story together,” he wrote.

Four Hoodlums Shot Dead By Osun Police For Attempting To Free Murder Suspects

No fewer than four hoodlums were killed by men of Osun State Police Command for attacking a police vehicle, conveying murder suspects to Ilesa Correctional Centre.

The attack came after three male suspects were on Wednesday , arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate’s Court for alleged murder and armed robbery.
Magistrate A. Adeyeba had ordered their remand in Ilesa Correctional Centre because he lacked jurisdiction to take their plea nor grant them bail.

While the Police tactical team were transporting them to the prison custody, their vehicle was said to have developed fault along Ilesa road at Osunjela River. While a mechanic was fixing the fault, some armed men were said to have driven motorcycle to the scene, and opened fire at the Policemen in a bid to free the suspects.

Ekiti Cargo Airport Will Be Completed Before My Departure In 2022 – Fayemi

The Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has assured the people of the state that the International Cargo Airport under construction will be completed before the expiration of his tenure on October 15, 2022.

He attributed the massive investment in the state economy by local and foreign investors worth millions of dollars on the collaboration of his administration with development partners.

The governor, who spoke through his Deputy, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi, at the first edition of Ekiti Civic Engagement with various interest groups in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, said he was always in pursuit of development partners to lift the state economy in defiance of the global financial challenges.

Fayemi said that some of the projects facilitated by government’s partnership with development partners include the resuscitated Ikun Dairy Farm, Rice Mills in Ado Ekiti, Cassava Processing Plants in Oke Ako-Irele axis, rehabilitation of major dams, construction of interstate roads, and the ongoing Agro Cargo Airport, among others.

Fayemi said the event was an opportunity to shed light on various empowerment programmes and other human capital development initiatives given to the various segments of the populace in the state like artisans, women, youths, owners of small scale businesses, farmers and the aged.

The governor pointed out that “the airport project would be completed before the expiration of my tenure. Measures had been put in place to ensure that no ongoing project is abandoned or left undone”.

Fayemi told the gathering that the College of Agriculture and Technology in Isan Ekiti has been upgraded to a polytechnic status to further drive agribusiness, make agriculture more attractive to the youths and boost food security in the state.

“There is need for us to always reach out to development partners and that is why we go out and attract them to the state to assist us in our developmental strides and we are already seeing the results.

“Our partnership with development partners at a time we are facing financial challenges in our country and in other parts of the state had resulted in investment in the key sectors of the state economy and infrastructure development.

“This also helped us to fund projects like Ilupeju-Ire-Igbemo-Ijan Road, Oye-Ayede-Iye-Ikun Road, Aramoko-Erijiyan Road, Agbado-Ode-Isinbode-Omuo Road and the Ekiti Airport project which will assist our investment drive and create more jobs,” Fayemi said.

He noted that the interface became necessary to let the people know what the government is doing and to track the extent to which the five-pillar agenda of his administration has been implemented to their benefit.

The governor also charged the people to be more security conscious and always report suspicious individuals and activities to security agencies and traditional rulers to complement government efforts to make the state safe for living and legitimate businesses.

The Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, who was represented by the Asha of Ado Ekiti, Chief Kayode Ogunleye, lauded the initiative and achievements so far recorded by the Fayemi administration.

The traditional ruler commended the government for the creation of new Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Ado Ekiti which he notes would bring governance and development nearer to the people.

The Chief of Staff to the governor, Hon. Biodun Omoleye, disclosed that the Ekiti Civic Engagement would be taken to all local government areas in the state as a mark of the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, probity, transparency and accountability to the people.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Enlightenment and Engagement, Mrs. Tosin Ajisafe-Aluko, said the forum was a communication strategy in community engagement urging more cooperation with the government.

The Nexus Between Quality Legislative Representation And Grassroots Development || By Rahman Olanrewaju

A chieftain of All Progressives Congress APC in Kajola Local Government area of Oyo State, Mr. Rahman Sulaimon Olanrewaju has charged electorates to ensure quality representatives are elected at the grassroots. This was contained in a statement sent by him today to ODUDUWA NEWS as read in part:

“One of the factors that determines grassroots development in a democratic government is the quality and the commitment of the representatives elected by the constituency.

“In the advanced nations of the world, quality representation is always a significant factor on which the electorates assess those seeking political office.

“However, the quality of elected representatives entrusted with the affairs of the constituency has remained a big challenge to the development of the grassroots and their
constituencies. The conduct and lackadaisical attitudes to issue of governance are affecting robust debates that could herald or galvanise the anticipated development.

“Quality legislative representation transcends the ability to move motions on the floor of the legislature. It is; crucially, also about proper linkage with the grass roots, attracting life-changing projects to constituencies. It also involves appropriate linkage with the executive arm of government and being above board in the discharge of legislative duties.

“An intelligent representative has got to rise above mediocrity so as to add real value to the political cum developmental narrative of Nigeria.

“The reality of the Nigerian situation is that the political class is replete with political figures who see politics as another means to acquire wealth and boost their public status and ego.

“Legislating is a serious business. It is not meant for frivolity and jamboree. Rather, it should attract development to the constituency.

“On a final note, an elected representative owes his people a duty. He needs to be active so that projects would not be concentrated in the constituency of the wiser legislative. He should not be known for ” I concur” every time.

“There is great value in a legislator that the people can truly call their own”.
