Makinde’s Bus: Ibarapa Ex-Student Leaders Fume, Say Oyo Youth Commissioner ‘Collude’ With ‘Political Jobbers’ To Shortchange FIBSA

The Council of Ibarapa Students Stakeholders have condemned what they described as power intoxication by the Oyo State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Wasila Adegoke for her failure to ensure the donation of bus to the indigenous student association.

This was contained in a statement made available to ODUDUWA NEWS today as reproduced below:

LANLATE BORN COMMISSIONER, WASILA ADEGOKE DENIED FEDERATION OF IBARAPA STUDENTS ASSOCIATION THEIR ALUTA BUS BECAUSE OF PERSONAL INTEREST AND POWER INTOXICATION.

It’s no longer a news that Governor Seyi Makinde distributed 28 buses to the students society on Thursday , March 7th, 2024, in fulfillment of his promise prior the 2023 general election.

But it’s to our dismay how the Lanlate born and power drunkard commissioner denied the entire seven town that makes up the Ibarapa region their dividends of democracy because of her personal interest and lack of intellectual capacity.

The office of the Senior Special Assistant, Hon. Olojede Victor D. called on the leadership of the association in the eleventh hour of Wednesday , 6th of March, 2024 that FIBSA should make themselves available to receive their Aluta bus Thursday 7th of March, 2024.

Unfortunately, when the leadership of FIBSA reach Ibadan earlier today, it was a switch of event when the SSA told them that the opportunist commissioner, Wasilat ADEGOKE instructed her not to give the bus to the leadership of the union on the basis that her leaders from Lanlate have called her that the bus must come to Lanlate at all cost because Lanlate has never been the union president forgetting that Lanlate was the former Senate President.

The uncultured and power monger commissioner is calling all corner to sabotage the leadership efforts because she didn’t hold any stake towards the association and she as not contributed anything to the development of the union.

Going by records, it would be recalled that the transition committee who oversee the affairs of FIBSA paid a congratulatory visit to the commissioner after she was swore-in as commissioner and also she was duly informed about the state of the union on constitution review and election.

The transition committee also informed the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on students affairs when they are to conduct the association election in February. The SSA Hon. Olojede also congratulates the President elect after the result was announced.

The transition committee also informed the National leadership of Federation of Oyo State Students Union (FOSSU) prior the election and which the representatives of the Apex indigenous students union in Oyo State came to observe the election and immediately after the election, the National President and Senate President also sent a congratulatory message to the President elect.

We are now using this medium to call on the Students loving and peace embracing Governor to warn Hon. Wasilat to stay away from FIBSA National matter and she should by all means stop threatening the SSA on students affairs because the issue of students union is outside her jurisdiction.

We also use this avenue to appeal to the Governor to as a matter of urgency direct the SSA on students affairs to release the Aluta bus of Federation of Ibarapa students Association to the appropriate leadership of the union that he himself recognized and as worked with over the years.

Signed:

Former FIBSA National Presidents and Senate Presidents

FIBSA Transition Committee Chairman

FIBSA Electoral Committee Chairman

Past FOSSU National Excos from Ibarapa.
