Archbishop of the Aba Ecclesiastical Province and leader, Southern Nigeria Bishops Conference, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Dr Isaac Nwaobia, has declared that there is no hope for the country under the Bola Tinubu administration.
The cleric made the comment in an interview with the Daily Sun newspaper published today.
He said the continuous slide of the Naira against the American dollar, had also brought Nigerians untold hardships with no plan in place by the Tinubu administration to find solutions to them.
His words: ”It’s a pity Nigeria has found itself in this situation. We’re deteriorating by the day because of bad leadership. Unfortunately, the man said he has the solutions and made a very nasty pronouncement on the day of his swearing-in, which caused the whole disaster after the increase in prices of petroleum products.
”I know that he was struggling to legitimise the illegality in his ascension to the office. He wanted to assert his ability; that’s why he made the statement. That’s what has provoked the crisis, and the about 500 per cent increase in prices of goods. The average Nigerian is suffering.”
Asked if there is no sign the present government is on course to repair the country, the cleric said:
”I still maintain that there is no hope because up till this moment, the president and his men have not laid any good foundation for such a programme.”

“We are heartened by the coordinated and sincere efforts of concerned residents and stakeholders who have been actively involved since the release of the viral video, which led us to track down the alleged perpetrator involved in the inhumane act against the minor who was badly beaten and bruised.
“Following the update provided earlier regarding the apprehension of the perpetrator, Mrs. Adeyanju Temitope, who is currently in police custody, we would like to inform the public about the ongoing medical treatment being provided to the victim. This treatment will be followed up with psychosocial support, courtesy of the joint efforts of the State Ministries of Women Affairs and Social Development as well as Health.
“Additionally, the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has graciously directed that the victim be adopted and fully cared for by the State Government, with plans for her education already in place.
“In light of the above, we earnestly plead with our partners and stakeholders in the media industry, especially social media influencers and users, to desist from the continuous sharing of the victim’s video. It is important to note that sharing videos involving the abuse of minors violates their dignity and can hinder their reintegration into the society.
“With the concerted efforts of the State Government, we firmly believe in the future of our children. This is a clarion call to always practice discretion when reporting cases involving child abuse and gender-based violence.
