The highest Indigenous body in land, and next in hierarchy to Olubadan-in-Council on Saturday elected Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga as the next President General of the Association.

The election which held on Saturday, 2nd April, 2021 at Ibadan House, Oke Aremo, Ibadan, Prince Oluyemisi had a total of Fifty Nine votes out of the total Ninety Nine to defeat his major contestant, Waheed Ekun who had 31votes

Details later.

Maximizing Employment Quota From Government Institutions in Ibadanland for Indigenes is one of My Goal as CCII PG – PRINCE OLUYEMISI ADEAGA

In response to a question on solving issues of the employment quota in Federal Ministries, and all Federal Agencies asked by a member of CCII to the two leading contestants for the position of President General, Prince Adeaga in his response made it known that his team will work together with Federal Character Commission in addressing the issue.

It should also be of note that Prince Adeaga currently have over 40 Ibadan Indigenes working in his oil and gas establishment. This is a pointer to the fact that he’s not only capable of the position, but he is an experienced Administrator with many years of Service in both Private and Public sector.

Read his full response below:

By the grace of Almighty, if elected and when I resume office as the PG after Friday April 2 elections, my team and I will work together with Federal Character Commission towards ensuring that the Golden rule that guide employment of the indigenes is adhered to, especially, the junior and intermediate officers.
The Corporate Social Responsibility of Companies operating in the land would also be explored.

A relevant committee would also constantly link up with Ibadan indigenes who work in these agencies to monitor their recruitment exercises. This is to enable our proactiveness towards taking the right steps at the right time. I will also ensure that we safely fraternise with the CEOs of private organizations with employment capabilities, to enable us promote their confidence in CCII and secure their interests in Ibadanland. One of such ways is inviting them to many and relevant activities of CCII.

The previous and present CCII administrations have been doing this and I really commend the efforts made to date for the initiative as the Heads of some Federal agencies participated in the last Ibadan week.

During my time as the Chairman of Ibadan Week between 2011 & 2012, we extended our award night tentacles to the University of Ibadan (UI) and some other Federal establishments as our vision for inclusiveness.

I will make sure that the CCII under me will improve on the robust relationship with all the CEOs of Federal agencies based in Ibadan as well as all corporate organizations. When we secure their affection, having our rights and privileges from them to the benefits of our job seeking population would be with seamless ease. In fact, with these steps, it is foreseeable that some of them would be inviting our attention to job vacancies in their organizations.

I humbly repeat that this is part of our Manifesto as distributed last Friday.

Thank you

Prince Adeaga Oluyemisi. A
President General Candidate 2021

The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde on Tuesday alongside other top Government officials visited the Ibadan Circular Road for an on the spot assessment. The Governor in the Statement he released made it clear that the contract was terminated from the previous contractor because of poor performance and promised that his government will concession the road again.

“Yesterday, we visited Ibadan Circular Road for an on-the-spot assessment of the project. Having terminated the contract for non-performance (less than 10% completion), we will conduct a joint evaluation of the job done so far with the contractor to ensure that their cost is reimbursed.

We will concession this road again, but this time, the government will have a percentage stake in the project. As we recognise the importance of this road to our state’s economy, our plan is to complete the 32km portion of the road within this tenure of our administration.

We also revisited Agodi Gate-Old Ife Road-Adegbayi Junction with a spur to Ibadan Airport. This project, awarded in 2016, ought to have been completed by 2018. However, when we assumed office in 2019, it was only 46% complete. The revised date of completion is October 2021, and we will follow up with the contractors to ensure that this is done.” he said.
