Oorelope First Lady Gifts Food Items, Says Governor Seyi Makinde Re-election is a Done Deal

The wife of the executive chairman of Oorelope local government, Mrs Raheem Fatimoh kikelomo on Thursday, October 6th, gifted women of the local government food packages to serve as a support system for families.

Presenting the Items, Mrs Raheem stated that the gesture was in line with good work her husband is doing in the local government which is a reflection of His Excellency, Engr Oluseyi Makinde priority in putting the welfare of the people first.

Speaking futher, she charges women to participate more actively in politics and ensure the they support the re-election of Engr. Oluseyi Makinde for continuity.

Presents at the venue were the Vice Chairman of the council Hon Duro Atoyebi who represented the Executive Chairman, Leader of House Hon. Hon. Tawfiq Tayo Akinwale Celebrates Teachers on Teachers day’s Celebration

The Labour Party Governorship candidate in Oyo State Hon. Tawfiq Tayo Akinwale has joined Nigerians to celebrate teachers on this year’s occasion of Teachers Day Celebration 2022.

Hon. Tawfiq Tayo Akinwale who is also a trained and certified teacher expressed his readiness to ensure the welfare of teachers in his administration stating that one of the paramount agenda of his administration if elected is leaving a good educational legacy which can only be achieved when the government takes teachers welfare as important.

He also pointed out that his running mate Mrs. Esther Adebimpe Akanji retired from active service of Oyo State Teaching Commission TESCOM as a School Principal in April 2022.

He stated “Our Program in the Educational sector is FIT an acronym for Funding, Infrastructure, and Training of the Trainers. This training will be local, National, and International” because teachers are the nation builders.

He further emphasized his administration’s intention to take teachers’ matters as paramount. According to him, the reward of teachers should not necessarily be in heaven as commonly said, they also deserve to be rewarded here on earth as well.

The Agenda of TAWFIQ/Esther is to give all government workers “Educational Allowances” that will take care of their Children’s education bills so that their salaries will be used for other things.

“Situation, where teachers use their salary account to obtain loans from the bank and leaving them with meager salary at the end of the month, will be eradicated by our administration” these were the words of Hon. Tawfiq Tayo Akinwale.

He reassures Oyo state citizens and workers of a government that belongs to everyone and will be responsive and responsible, he, therefore, calls out on teachers to weigh his intentions for them and throw their support behind him in the 2023 elections.

Aleshinloye urges patriotism, selfless service, others at Independence

Accord Candidate House of Representatives, Oluyole Federal Constituency and the Immediate past Algon Chairman,Oyo State ,Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye MDII, on Friday urged Nigerians on the values of patriotism and selfless service as the country marks 62nd independence anniversary.

Aleshinloye , in his congratulatory message, said the commemoration must not be lost on anyone, but should be another opportunity for Nigerians to rededicate themselves to the pride and service of the nation as exemplified by the founding fathers.

He said there was need to rekindle the flame that ignited the determination of the founding fathers to fight for and obtain independence, coupled with the pride they had in serving the country. There was no better time than now to reawaken the waning glory of the nation.

While urging Nigerians to use the celebration to strengthen the country’s unity, the former Oluyole local government boss added, “In the face of our challenges, there are still things to be thankful for as a nation. It is better to use this occasion to focus on the things that unite us, while moving away from issues that drag us backward in our quest to be a progressive nation.

The most distinguished Ibadan Indigene called on all Nigerians not to allow the country current challenges to threaten our co-existence but we should rather see the challenges as possibilities. He regretted the prevailing trying moments in Nigerian history, urging all to unite in the face of these differences and called on the country’s political elites to advance democracy, peace and prosperity through mutual interest based on shared democratic values.

The umbrella body of all sons and daughters of Ibadanland in the Diaspora, the Ibadan Descendants’ Union, USA Inc, at her just concluded 11th Biennial National Convention, elected Jagun Olubadan, Oloye Abiola Iyiola, as the new National President to run the affairs of the organization for the next two years.

After the election at the Convention, held in New York, USA, during the weekend, Oloye Abiola Iyiola and his new team took their oath of office.

While responding to his election, Jagun Olubadan thanked God for elevating him to this challenging role as he splashed appreciation to all the members of IDU in the Diaspora for counting him and his new team worthy of the task of taking IDU to greater heights.

He expressed appreciation to his immediate predecessor, former National President of IDU, USA Inc, Dr Olubunmi Afonja and her team for steering the Union to the height she’s now as he promised to work assiduously to continue from where the former Executives stopped and to build on their achievements.

Jagun Olubadan stated that he and his team would come up with programmes that would have more positive impacts on the IDU USA Inc in particular and Ibadanland in general. He expressed gratitude to his chapter of IDU in Houston Texas, who extended unalloyed supports for his tenures as the former Chapter President and the General-Secretary of IDU National. He congratulated them about his election as the new National President, being a prominent member of Houston Chapter of IDU.

Again, Corps Member, Former FIBSU National Speaker Donates Project To PPA

Yesterday, I achieved another developmental milestones for my PPA (Place of Primary Assignment) by giving them another project after I did Billboard banner, School Flag, Nigerian Flag, Painting of School Flag poles and giving ropes to hoist the flags.

I organized Quiz Competition for the Junior Secondary School in accordance with my aims and objectives of my Personal Community Development Service Project.

The program went well and the participants were all awarded with gifts such as School Bags, Notebooks, Pen 🖊️🖋️, School Socks 🧦, Mathematical Sets and Instructional charts for the benefit of school in other to aid teaching and learning activities.

I sincerely thanks the management of Deen Foundation Schools, Ekpan Effurun, Delta State for having me as their Corps member.

International Day of Peace; Experts Calls For Justice, Peace Towards 2023 General Election.

Every September 21 is used to commemorate the International day for peace worldwide and this year, the Oyo State Chapter of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP) in conjunction with Environmental Conflict Mediation And Women Development Initiative joined the rest of the world to celebrate 2022 International Day of Peace with the global theme: End Racism, Build Peace.

Experts in the field of Conflict Resolution, Reconciliation and Mediation has called on Nigerians to shun discrimination of any form, as a means of maintaining internal peace.

In her Introductory speech, Mrs Ijeoma Ladele, Executive Director Environmental Conflict Mediation and Women Development stated the need to build a strong institutions for Peace Practioners professional mediators and civil society organisations

In the same light, Dr Lanre Yusuf, Chairman Oyo State Society for Peace Studies and Practice said that the Inaugural Collaboration is a dream come through, and their own efforts towards sensitizing the public on the need to maintain peace. He however expressed his appreciation to all those who made it possible, stating that the advocacy work continues.

Giving the Opening remarks, the National President of SPSP, Dr. Nathaniel Danjibo appreciated the organizers, and spoke briefly on the theme adopted by the United Nations “End Racism; Build Peace”. Dr. Danjibo emphasized the need for all and sundry to be an advocate of peace, which must reflect in our dealings with others.

Speaking on the theme “
Build Peace: End Racism and all Forms of Discrimination” Professor Albert, who gave the keynote address emphasized the need to continuous advocacy on building and maintaining peace, as that is the only way to have a sustainable society, where people live together irrespective of where they come from, color of their skin, or finance.

While delivering the Lecture, The Guest Speaker, Dr. Omowunmi Akin- Onigbide recommended that Practitioners and Conflict Resolution Professionals should come up with policy and recommendation to Government on how to effectively manage Discrimination, Racism for healthy society.

“l therefore request the Egg Heads to recommend effective strategies for States and Communities to promote rights education, protection and enforcement, so as to improve human relations in our societies, and so engender peace.
With enduring peace and mutual cooperation,
socioeconomic development will ensue, and humanity will flourish”

At the event was the former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Chief Moses Adeyemo, speaking to news men after the program, Chief Moses stated, that to sustain peace in Nigeria, the people must embrace a positive mindset and begin to speak positive of the country. He also stated that Peace is not only the absence of war, but the presence of Justice, he however called on relevant authorities saddled with the administration of Justice to be just in administering of Justice.

During the panel session, panelists advised Nigerians, basically the Youths to do away with violence, and embrace equal participation from both gender before, during and after General Election coming up in next year.

Furthermore, the Officer in Charge of Gender, Nigeria Police force appreciated the organizers for putting up this programme, while stating that Peace and Security is needed in our Society and that everyone should be consious of his or her environment.

It was however suggested and agreed that a policy paper should be sent to the United Nations, while the program will take the form of a Festival from next year.
