Amid the rumours of a possible defection from the Peoples Democratic Party over perceived grievances, governor Nyesom Wike goes to France to meet with Bola Tinubu according to a post released by Joe Igbokwe on his Facebook page.
In the post released by Joe Igbokwe, he argued that abuse, calling of names, hate and bigotry are no strategy to win elections. He went as far as saying that the hate and abuse Buhari suffered since 2015 has now been transferred to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
While it may sound as a shocker to many, to some its, an expected move since Wike has never hidden his desire to see a power shift to the South come 2023. Perhaps, that explains why he has remained silent since the drama that led to Okowa’s emergence as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate.
The recent claim by Joe Igbokwe beats my imagination however, given the fact that Wike is one of the pillars holding the PDP in the South. But, if this latest development is anything to go by, it lays credence to the claims that Wike is consulting widely before deciding whether to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party or not.
You would recall also, that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi paid a visit to Wike some days ago. Shortly after, Wike was visited by Rabiu Kwankwaso alongside Ayodele Fayose, another PDP chieftain who’s reportedly harbouring plans of defection.
Well, the court is set, the game is about to start. If Wike leaves PDP and chose to fight against the party in the forthcoming elections, PDP would have themselves to blame.
