Bayo Adelabu: time for support and solidarity, let’s pray for our man ~Balogun Gaphar Babatunde Ojetola

I am afraid!
This guy must not fail.

The joy that heralded his nomination in July 2023 as a minister evaporated immediately the portfolio was mentioned in August, 2023, the Honourable Minister of Power!
To allay my fears, I quickly searched for the core duties of this post holder and I discovered:

MISSION: To generate, distribute and transmit electricity nationwide, facilitate the provision of adequate and affordable electricity for all Nigerians in both urban and rural areas.

Whaoo, I was thrown off balance knowing fully well that the major challenges of we impatient Nigerians is electricity. An average Nigerian had high hopes of having regular unhindered, uninterrupted power supply, even if the supply must come from heaven. Nigerians can’t wait.

My fears were borne out of the understanding of the challenges before this highly cerebral young man but does he possess the wherewithal of the requirements which could help him survive the bottlenecks inimical to this plagued ministry?

Many questions crossed my mind with no one to provide me with the answers.

In one of my WhatsApp messages to Chief Adebayo Adelabu who is also known as Penkele in the political circle, precisely the one dated 17th August, I prayed for God to give him the POWER and CAPACITY to deliver the required Power and electricity for Nigerians. I believe he would understand the essence of my prayers.

Why this ministry?
Why not his area of speciality?
Was it a plot to retire him out of politics?
Was it a plot to challenge his capacity?
Was this intentional to roughen his feathers?

But why would the Jagaban plan to throw his boy in front of the moving locomotive engine?
Why this?
Why that?
What happens?

Many whys and whats occupied my mind but no one to share my thoughts with………my people , the Yorubas in their very rich wisdom would say, “bi erù ba ko òkè, bi O ba ko ilè, O ni ibi Aa gbee kà” ( there is always a place for a load that doesn’t fit into the upper level neither the lower level) . I ended up praying for him.

Let me quickly state clearly here that Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Penkele and myself do not belong to the same political camp other than anything Ibadanism. As I always tell people that my Nigerian identity starts from Ibadan First!, then Yemetu Adeoyo irridentist. In everything, Ibadan comes FIRST and that has been my ONLY main relationship, if at all, with Bayo Adelabu, the Honourable Minister of Power.

The humongous notable saboteurs especially in the power sector will make all efforts in ensuring a novice like Chief Adelabu in the power sector ends up without any success. This we can’t over emphasize.

The powerful stakeholders and players in importing and distributions of heavy duty industrial generators are another threat.

The highly corruptible civil servants in his ministry would surely exploit Chief Adelabu’s ignorance of the Power sector and while this is going on, the impatient Nigerians , living in darkness will have no more than to go for Bayo’s jugular. That is where our man needs our prayers and support.

What I personally observe as inherent with Chief Adelabu is both lack of adequate communication or, and improper use of words. Another Ajuri Ngelale will surely help him in his regard. Our brother is not a good communicator. We should tell him this please.
The outsiders have started measuring Ibadans capacity with Bayo Adelabu’s performances. If he succeeds, they will say Ibadan man succeed and if otherwise, they will come heavy on us and abuse us badly. Bayo must not fail therefore. He must perform .

He must let the Nigerians know how far he has gone to mitigate the power problems and cry out for help where necessary. His quietness and usage of wrong words are not soothing to the ears of the people living in darkness. Nigerians aren’t happy.

Bayo’s initiative of classifying us into Bands A, B, C, D, E and F in power supply is not only strange but anti-people. According to the dictates of his ministry mission, he must generate, distribute and transmit electricity nationwide, facilitate the provision of adequate and affordable electricity for all Nigerians in both urban and rural areas irrespective of their social status. (Italics mine).

If eventually our Brother , Chief Bayo Adelabu is moved into another portfolio or retained in the Power ministry, we should intensify our supports, physical , spiritual and psychological and himself should learn and be prepared to be receipient of valuable advice and wisdom from elders. The Ibadan Elders has so much work to do on their son at this time. He deserves all our supports as well as heaven’s support.

I pray he will not be the only Ibadan man to be favoured in this dispensation because of massive supports we Ibadans lavished at the polls at the last general election that brought Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu into the office.

Tajudeen Adeniyi Adigun (ATU), and Hon. Sulaimon Adeniran, councillor elect ward 6.

According to Ashiwaju Alajiki, the people of Ibadan South West Local Government have spoken, and the wish of the majority has prevailed, he however advise the Chairman Elect not to renege on his promise to the people and residence of the Local Government.

“I congratulate my leader, our own God sent, the one God has chosen for us. Your electoral victory at the poll yesterday was as a result of your commitment to the development of local government, and the believe that our people have in you, which I have no doubt that you will deliver. I pray to God to guide your steps as you direct the affairs of our Local Government in months to come”

“I am confident that with your leadership and a pro-people driven approach, including your commitment to listening to the voices of youth will not only strengthen our community but also inspire future generations to actively participate in development of our local government”

I Once again congratulate you on your victory, and best wishes for a successful tenure as Local Government Chairman. I look forward to seeing the positive impact that your administration will have on our Local Government.

The Councillor-elect, ward 1 Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Alaba Abdullahi has expressed his appreciation and gratitude to leaders, Executives and members of PDP Egbeda Local Government for the opportunity and support given to him before and during the council election.

According to Hon. Abdullahi, he acknowledged the support of Elder (Dr) Wole Oyelese, Hon. Akin Funmilayo and Hon. Sunky for both their moral and financial support during the electioneering period.

Oyo LG Election: Ahmed Mufutau Congratulates Hon. Mudashiru, Says He’s God Sent

Mudashiru Kamorudeen Morenikeji by OYSIEC as the Chairman Elect, Lagelu Local Government, Aare Mufutau Ahmed has sent his congratulatory message and appreciating the voters, most especially the youth for their roles that ensured the Electoral victory of Hon. Mudashiru.

Oluyole student-leaders declares support for Comr. Titilope Kolapo Omotapiri as ward 7 councillor

In the course of building our environment towards a good and conducive political atmosphere, that will be an advantage of enjoying a good and responsive representative at the grassroots, at all times. We, the ever reasonable Student Union Leaders of Oluyole are presenting a revolutionary candidate that is an agent of real change at the grassroots of Oluyole ward 7 (Olomi Olunde ward 7) in person of Comr. Titilope Kolapo Omotapiri of African Action Congress (AAC) as our councilorship candidate.
Comr. Titilope attended his primary education at Asegun Group of School Ile Aperin beside Obisesan Compound, also Secondary Education at the same Asegun Group of School, Asolo Akanran Road where he was a prefect. He graduated as a certified Telecommunications Engineer (Electronic And Electrical Engineering) from the prestigious Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso where he first showed his love for Ibadan students in general, under Federation of Ibadan Student Union (FIBSU) National.He worked hand-in-hand with the executives of the union to facilitate bursary for the students of Oluyole local government during the tenure of Achiever and honourable Adepoju-Aliu as Leader following the step laid by the past executive lead by Dr Adeagbo Oluwatunmise.

He’s a true son of Ibadan from Tella’s Compound, Elero meta, Oje Ibadan. He’s a son to one of the major community leaders, Akano within the hemisphere of Oluyole ward 7 where he worked with elders as time keeper of the community meeting.

Also he’s a resident of a major community, Amere in Oluyole ward 7. As a member of Amere Awoseyin Landlord/Landladies Association,Comr Titilope is the current financial secretary of a unit under the general Community, as well as past secretary general of Amere Awoseyin general Community and the present Auditor General of the Amere Awoseyin general Community. He is a Tech Bussinessman that has two business annexes with the head office at Olomi market, the major market of Oluyole ward 7, the second along Olunde road where he employs labour and empowers willing youths with technical expertise on telecommunications thus reducing the rate of unemployment among youths in Oluyole Ward 7.
The thrill to this candidacy is his love for humanity and the solidarity role he always played in the Oluyole and Nigeria at large as a member of Take It Back (TIB) group. Therefore, he decided to take up the challenge to represent the residents of Oluyole ward 7 and serve not only as the son of the soil but also as the only vibrant youth and genuine servant of communities among those vying for the position. This election is not going to be as usual, as our democracy grows at the electioneering level every four years. April 12 Town Hall: Our Deepest Gratitude To Critical Stakeholders; Traditional Rulers, Community Organizers Within And Around Lagelu West ~ Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen

It’s been a most fulfilling day, both politically and socially. We joined His Royal Highness, the Ololorunda of Olorunda-Aba, Oba wa, Samuel Oludele Abiodun Folarin, JP in a well appointed town hall meeting with Traditional Rulers, Market leaders, Women Farmers, and members of Olorunda Development Association (ODA).

It was all part of our engagement with critical stakeholders and organizers in the local communities.

At the core of our engagement, we offered thoughts about how we can reframe our debate on the delivery of governance in reaffirming our commitment to democratic values through a close and constant engagement with communities, in our own local clime. This is all that the April 12th Town Hall meeting was about. It was an affirmation of our shared, unyielding belief that Yes Together We Can!

Our most sincerest appreciation to the Ololorunda of Olorunda-Aba, Oba wa, Samuel Oludele Folarin, JP, the entire traditional rulers within and around Lagelu West, the Agba-Akin of Olorunda, Oloye Benedict Akika, members of Olorunda Development Association (ODA), the Women Farmers Association, and market leaders— for playing host to us, and for gathering together an equally impressive group of thinkers and community organizers for discourse on important factors that can help bring confidence in our government and in our local democracy, and that’s the widespread sense of community engagement, by which, we believed, the people can be an important part of their own government.

It’s truly remarkable to reflect on the historic significance of the town hall, today- and the sense of hope it instilled. Thank you all for sharing your thoughts and experiences.

Hon. Musiliu Olaide Adewale Akinremi Jagaban: a blessing to Ibadan North, Oyo State and Nigeria ~ Balogun Gaphar Babatunde Ojetola


Happy New Year to a wonderful parliamentarian says Balogun Gaphar Babatunde Ojetola.

It is another magical occasion when the entire humanity gives praise to God for the benefit of finishing the race of an expired year and the beginning of the race to a new year. In the process, one will slow down to assess the past year in preparation for a new year race. The challenges, the opportunities, the blessings and unexpected favor in comparison to losses or near misses. For all of these, one cannot but give praise to Allah. To almighty God we return all praises for the benefit of seeing another beautiful year 2024.
Along these journeys, Honourable Musiliu Olaide Adewale Akinremi Jagaban has demonstrated a great sense of service, generosity and exemplary support to his constituency and beyond. An uncommon attribute which placed him over and above all the previous parliamentarians representing the Ibadan North Federal Constituency. The records are there to be challenged.
I doubt if Ibadan North Federal Constituency has ever had it this good. On this note, I want to encourage this humble servant of the masses not to relent in his charitable efforts in delivering dividends of democracy to his people within and afar. The good Lord will never cease his blessings on you and people are praying fervently for your success in and out of office.
As we go into the new year, many others who are expecting to benefit from your series of meaningful empowerment programs should be adequately captured in the net of potential beneficiaries to be empowered. God will empower you to do more and serve your people beyond expectations.
I wish you, your family, the entire Ibadan North Federal Constituency , the state at large and the entire nation-Nigeria a happy new year full of blessings and divine grace.
