CCII congratulates Senator Sarafadeen Alli on his elevation to Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland, other elevated Obas, High Chiefs

Balogun Gaphar Ojetola paid a condolence visit to the family of late Oyo State APC party Chairman, Ajiboye Omodewu in the UK

Oyo State APC party stalwart, Balogun Gaphar Babatunde Ojetola and his wife, Chief Mrs. R.K. Ojetola paid a condolence visit to the immediate elder Sister of late Barrister Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu at their Ayelsbury residence in the UK. During the visit, Balogun Ojetola commiserated with Mrs Olaomo who is the immediate elder Sister to Barr. Ajiboye Omodewu the State Party Chairman who died recently in the US describing Omodewu as a passionate, dedicated and visionary party Chairman.


Balogun Ojetola said death has been cruel and unkind to the people of Ibadan North having claimed the life in his prime of Rt. Hon. Musiliu Olaide Adewale Akinremi Jagaban, member House of Representatives, representing the Ibadan North Federal Constituency and to the people of Oyo State with the death of Omodewu, the party Chairman just forty days apart.

“We are grieving and mourning the sudden transition of Akinremi and on the eve of his 41 days Fidau prayers comes the news of the death of Omodewu, the party Chairman. We are devastated and disturbed by the sudden transition of these two great men and party lovers at a time efforts are being geared towards rebuilding the party and reconciliation of fractured relationships.”


Mrs Olaomo put a call to their eldest Sister in the USA to appreciate the visiting family friends and to brief the Ojetolas about the funeral plans on ground. Balogun Ojetola also used the opportunity to phone the Party Secretary, Alhaji Tajudeen Olanite who registered with Mrs Olaomo the sympathy on behalf of the entire state executives and party members on the painful death of the party Chairman.
Alhaji Olanite also informed the family about the condolence visit of the APC South West leadership a day before. He promised that the party will partner with the family to give the party Chairman a befitting burial according to the deathbed wishes of the late Chairman.


At the visit, the Ojetolas prayed for the repose of the departed soul, all the families left behind, including the aged mother, wives and children, brethren and the party members.
On his departing note, Balogun Gaphar Ojetola said, “When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. Although it’s difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory helps comfort all of us tomorrow.”

Association of Professional Retired Nurses and Midwives APRNMN shines at the Ibadan Cultural Festival programs, proud to celebrate and associate with Ibadanland

The Association of Professional Retired Nurses and Midwives of Nigeria APRNMN, Oyo State Branch dominated this year’s Ibadan Cultural Festival activities with their remarkable presence at the Amala/Fuji Festivals and the elaborate Grand Finale. Prior to the final rounds of this year’s Cultural Festival activities, the association had participated actively in the Final rounds of the Orekelewa Brain and Beauty Pageant, Ibadan Got Talent, Balogun Ajayi Osungbekun Stage Play as well as the Education competition finals.
Speaking on behalf of the association, the Secretary General , Mrs Janet Fatunmbi remarked that Ibadan has provided remarkable opportunities for all the members of the association either during their training years as student nurses in various colleges of nursing domiciled in Ibadanland or practicing as professional qualified nurses at various health institutions spread across Ibadanland till they all retired from active services.
Mrs Fatunmbi further affirmed that Ibadan has become their home after the majority of their members were either married to Ibadan people or settled down in Ibadanland. Ibadanland continues to prosper all her dwellers as per her panegyric “Ibadan ti n gbe onile ti ko gbagbe alejo”. At the interview, the Secretary General who along with the almost fifty representatives appeared in the Amala Ankara uniforms reiterated the association’s commitment to always associate with the progressive activities of Ibadanland.
Mrs Bolanle Tomori, another leader of the association when interviewed expressed her joy at the many progress being recorded by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes and by extension, the Ibadan people. She recalled the presence of the association at the recent commissioning of the Aafin Olubadan Ile Ibadan as well as during the coronation of the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Dr Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, Ige Olakulehin 1. She prayed that Ibadanland will continue to progress steadily.
Another member of the APRNMN who granted this interview was Dr. Mrs. Yemisi Ladi-Bhadmus who congratulates the President General and the members of the CCII particularly the Chairman of the 2024 Ibadan Cultural Festival Planning Committee, Balogun Gaphar Babatunde Ojetola who also doubles as the Chairman of the Association of Professional Retired Nurses and Midwives of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter for the highly successful and landmark Ibadan Cultural Festival celebration, which has been affirmed as incomparable to any other cultural festival activities in history.
The association were represented at the various programs by Mrs Bolanle Ajuwon (Social Secretary), Mrs Rukayat Afonja, Mrs Akinleye, Chief Akintunde Oyedeji, Mrs Olawepo, Alhaja Hammed, Mrs Sola Adeyemo, Mrs Ikotun Adeyemo, Chief Mrs Afenkhena, Mrs Oluyemisi Makinde Adebo, Mrs Soji Adeneye, Prophetess Kayode, Mrs Olukemi Komolafe and Alhaja Adijat Omotunde Lawal.
Others are Chief Mrs Odegoke (PRO) Alhaja Moromoke Adeyemi (Assistant Secretary), Alhaja Olutooyin Ariwoola, Mrs Kehinde Oyediji, Mrs Ogungbade, Mrs Adeleye Olona, Mrs Adeniji Ibironke Olayinka, Alhaja Kudirat Aderibigbe, Mrs Akinjide, Deaconess Aderounmu, Mrs Akindele, Alhaja Basirat Giwa, Dr. Mrs Adenike Koseganlola Kadri and Princess Ogunwomoju.
The immediate past Chairman, Mrs Hannah Motilola Agboola who is out of the country sent in messages of felicitation and congratulates her successor, Balogun Gaphar Babatunde Ojetola for a great and remarkable achievement he made for his birthplace.
The Vice Chairman, Mrs Olufunke Okediran also registered her felicitations with the Chairman, Ibadan Cultural Festival Planning Committee.
The APRNMN is a registered body of retired professional Nurses and Midwives who either had their trainings in Oyo State Colleges of Nursing and Midwifery or who had their employment years with the Oyo State government with their Secretariat in Ibadan.

Oyo First Lady Advocates Nursing Mothers’ Rights, Promotion Of Exclusive Breastfeeding

Her Excellency, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde, has called for the enhancement of nursing mothers’ rights and the promotion of exclusive breastfeeding in the state, emphasizing its numerous benefits for mothers and babies.

She said this, on Thursday at an event organized by her office to commemorate the 2024 World Breastfeeding Week in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

“We must create a society where nursing mothers are supported and empowered to breastfeed their babies without fear of stigma or discrimination,” Mrs. Makinde said.

She stressed that breastfeeding reduces the risk of infant mortality, promotes bonding between mothers and their children, and enhances the cognitive development of babies.

“Breast milk is the best gift we can give our children, and we must do everything possible to promote and support breastfeeding,” she added.Mrs. Makinde also advocated for the creation of a conducive environment for nursing mothers to breastfeed their babies, including the establishment of crèches and breastfeeding rooms in public places.“We need to make our public spaces friendly to nursing mothers, so they can feel comfortable and confident breastfeeding their babies,” she said.

Also speaking, Dr Khadeejah Alarape, Director of Nutrition, Oyo Primary Health Care Board enlightened the nursing mothers on the need to eat good food.She assured that the state government would continue to support initiatives that promote breastfeeding and improve maternal and child health.

The event featured breastfeeding awareness walk with participants including healthcare professionals, nursing mothers, and stakeholders in the health sector.Nursing Mothers present were given food stuffs and cash courtesy of the Wife of the Governor.

Alaba of Abanla laid to rest, as Chief Imam of Ibadanland, family, friends pays tribute

Dignitaries from across the world joined the ‘Ladipo family for the islamic burial rite (Janazah) of their departed Patriarch, the Alaba of Abanla, His Royal Highness, Oba Tiamiyu Labiyi Ladipo who joined his ancestors on Tuesday, 6th August 2024.

Late Oba Tiamiyu Ladipo was the father of the most celebrated Senior Police Officer of Ibadan origin, AIG Fatai Oladipupo Rtd.

The Janazah prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland Sheikh Abbdul-Ganniy Abubabar Agbotomokekere.

In his sermon , Dr. Barihi Adetunji the Mufassir of Ibadanland charged the people to always remember Allah in their daily activities, as all soul will return to their creator one-day to give account of how they spend their life while on earth.

Prince Dotun Oladipupo & Mr Fatai Oladipupo, a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police who spoke to journalist on behalf of the family described their father as a champion of community development who until his last breath was committed to the development of his community and ensuring that whoever come close to him will be a memory to hold on to forever.

The late monarch was described by other relatives as someone who go extra miles to meet the needs of extended family member, and said that he will be greatly missed.

Presents were traditional rulers from far and near, islamic leaders, political stakeholders friends and well wishers.

Ladoja agrees to wear bearded crown, says it’s for the people

The Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Rasheed Ladoja has agreed to wear the bearded crown, High Chief Rasheed Ladoja made his intention known during the weekly programme on Fresh FM tagged Agbami-Oselu.

According to the former Governor, he stated that he has been receiving calls from home and abroad appealing to him collect the crown, and since it’s an honour crown, and does not necessarily have to do with tradition, that he’s ready to do the wish of the people.
