Earlier yesterday, the students of Government Secondary School and Oniyere Grammar School, Ibadan engaged themselves in free-for-all fight at Adeshola area of Oniyere, Ibadan.
In a video clip that went viral yesterday, students were seen brandishing several weapons to attack themselves while residents were calling for help.
Recall, ODUDUWA NEWS had earlier reported how some students of secondary schools situated at Molete, Ibadan clashed which resulted to inflicting of injuries on themselves while leaving innocent residents of the area to be scampering for safety. The aftermath of the crisis led to the indefinite closure of the affected schools by the Oyo State Government.
The renewed cases of hostage among secondary school children is alarming and has become a menace that all stakeholders need to find a lasting solutions to.
In the viral video, a teacher was also seen calling for assistance and help from the security agencies to prevent further escalation of the crisis.
Some of the students were putting on school uniforms, facing themselves in opposite direction and throwing stones, bottles and other dangerous weapons.
The teachers were incapacitated and could not curtail the incident.
As at the time of filing this report, no official statement has been made by the State Government concerning the incident.
