An Appeal Court has dismissed the N20 billion damages claim by self-styled Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Igboho against the Department of State Security (DSS).
Recall a judgement was made after the attack on the home of Yoruba nation agitator Chief Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, where N20bn damages claim was awarded. However, the judgement was was overturned on Tuesday by the Ibadan Division of the Court of Appeal.
In his ruling, Justice Muslim Hassan stated that the Oyo State High Court lacked jurisdiction over the case and that the judge shouldn’t have determined the appropriate amount of damages based on his own preference.
