The crisis rocking the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa has taken a new dimension as the Governing Council of the institution in its extensive meeting with Oyo State Ministry of Education has directed the immediate suspension of union activities in the Polytechnic.
Recall, ODUDUWA NEWS had earlier reported how the two labour unions, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics (SSANIP) and Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) have been at the loggerhead with the Management of the institution over an allegation that their members were sacked unjustly.
The two Unions have called for the removal of the Governing Council Chairman, Prof. Samuel Ogundiran for what it called abuse of power. However, Prof. Samuel Ogundiran denied the allegation saying the Governing Council has always been following due process in carrying out its activities.
In a copy of the memorandum sent to ODUDUWA NEWS today, the Governing ouncil affirmed the suspension of the two unions following the review of its decision on their activities holding the institution to ransom by paralyzing all academic activities.
