ODUDUWA NEWS has gathered that an hotelier identified as Dr. Dejo Ajuwon who is the founder of Nice Hotel in Iseyin has been kidnapped on Wednesday while working on his farm along Serafu, Moniya-Iseyin road.
Recall, Iseyin and other towns in Oke-Ogun region of Oyo State have been in the news for sometime over incessant spate of kidnapping and banditry attacks usually recorded in that axis.
It was learnt that the recent incident of kidnapping was the second of its kind to occur in the Serafu village in the past few weeks. In early December, a friend of a local farm owner was also reportedly abducted, and the ransom of Two Million Naira said to have been paid to regain his freedom.
After retiring from active civil service, Mr. Ajuwon moved back to his hometown in Iseyin to start his agricultural and hospitality businesses, which he has been operating for about ten years.
ODUDUWA NEWS learnt that before the recent incident, the residents of Iseyin had earlier alerted the security agencies on the need to comb the forests nearby “Serafu” village and the farm settlements in that axis to gather intelligence on the operational tactics of some of the kidnappers who continuously terrorize the community.
As at the time of filing this report, the kidnappers have not reached out to the family of the abducted hotelier on any ransom.
Oduduwa News had put calls through the Spokesman of Oyo State Police Command, DSP Adewale Osifeso but yet to respond to his calls.
